SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24956 | Narrated Uqbah Ibn Amir: The Prophet ﷺ said to a man: Would you like me to marry you to so-and-so? He said: Yes. He also said to the woman: Would you like me to marry you to so-and-so? She said: Yes. He then married one to the other. The man had sexual intercourse with her; but he did not fix any dower for her; nor did he give anything to her. He was one of those who participated in the expedition to AlHudaybiyah. One part of the expedition to AlHudaybiyah had a share in Khaybar. When he was nearing his death; he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me to so-and-so; and I did not fix a dower for her; nor did I give anything to her. I call upon you as witness that I have given my share in Khaybar as her dower. So she took the share and sold it for one lakh of dirhams.Abu Dawud said: The version of Umar Bin AlKhattab added in the beginning of this tradition; and his version is more perfect. He reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The best marriage is the one that is most easy. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the man. The narrator then transmitted the rest of the tradition to the same effect.Abu Dawud said: I am afraid this tradition has been added later on; for the matter is otherwise. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery Punishment And Forgiveness in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding One Who Married Without Specifying The Dowry And Then Died in Sunan Abu Dawoud

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25729 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would accept a present; but would not accept alms sadaqah. And Wahb Bin Baqiyah narrated to us; elsewhere; from Khalid; from Muhammad Ibn Amr said on the authority of Abu Salamah; and he did not mention the name of Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to accept presents but not alms sadaqah. This version adds: So a Jewess presented him at Khaybar with a roasted sheep which she had poisoned. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate of it and the people also ate. He then said: Take away your hands from the food ; for it has informed me that it is poisoned. Bishr Ibn AlBara Ibn Marur AlAnsari died. So he the Prophet sent for the Jewess and said to her : What motivated you to do the work you have done? She said: If you were a prophet; it would not harm you; but if you were a king; I should rid the people of you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ordered regarding her and she was killed. He then said about the pain of which he died: I continued to feel pain from the morsel which I had eaten at Khaybar. The Banu AlNadir property was kept wholly for his emergent needs; Fadak for travellers; and Khaybar was divided by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ into three sections: two for Muslims; and one as a contribution for his family. If anything remained after making the contribution of his family; he divided it among the poor Emigrants. | The Chapter on Wealth And Poor And Orphans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding Allocating A Special Portion For The Messenger Of Allah From Wealth in Sunan Abu Dawoud

The chief of Khaybar was a defiant and abominable man. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Is it proper for you; Muhammad; that you slaughter our donkeys; eat our fruit; and beat our women? The Prophet ﷺ became angry and said: Ibn Awuf ; ride your horse; and call loudly: Beware; Paradise is lawful only for a believer; and that they the people should gather for prayer. They gathered and the Prophet ﷺ led them in prayer; stood up and said: Does any of you; while reclining on his couch; imagine that Allah has prohibited only that which is to be found in this Quran? By Allah; I have preached; commanded and prohibited various matters as numerous as that which is found in the Quran; or more numerous. Allah has not permitted you to enter the houses of the people of the Book without permission; or beat their women; or eat their fruits when they give you that which is imposed on them. | The Chapter on Worship And Alquran In Homes in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Levying The Ushur On Ahl AlDhimmah If They Deal In Trade in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

MuwataMalik-017-001-34691 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula. Malik said that Ibn Shihab said; Umar Ibn AlKhattab searched for information about that until he was absolutely convinced that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had said; Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula; and he therefore expelled the jews from Khaybar. Malik said; Umar Ibn AlKhattab expelled the jews from Najran a jewish settlement in the Yemen and Fadak a jewish settlement thirty miles from Madina. When the jews of Khaybar left; they did not take any fruit or land. The jews of Fadak took half the fruit and half the land; because the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had made a settlement with them for that. So Umar entrusted to them the value in gold; silver; camels; ropes and saddle bags of half the fruit and half the land; and handed the value over to them and expelled them. | The Chapter on Peace And Killing in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik

We have not killed him! Then he made for his people and mentioned that to them. Then he; his brother Huwayisa; who was older than him; and Abdulrahman set out. Muhayisa began to speak; as he had been at Khaybar. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said to him; The greater first; the greater first; meaning in age. So Huwayisa spoke and then Muhayisa spoke. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Either they pay your companion blood-money or we will declare war against them. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; wrote that to them and they wrote; By Allah; we did not kill him! The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said to Huwayisa; Muhayisa; and Abdulrahman Do you swear and claim the blood of your companion? They said; No. He said; Shall the jews swear to you? They said; But they are not muslims. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave blood-money from his own property; and sent them one hundred camels to their house. Said continued; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; used to send Abdullah Ibn Rawaha; to assess the division of the fruit crop between him and them; and he would say; If you wish; you can buy it back; and if you wish; it is mine.
