Nothing can save you except the truth; so each of you should ask Allah Help by referring to such a deed as he thinks he did sincerely i.e. just for gaining Allah Pleasure. So one of them said; O Allah! You know that I had a laborer who worked for me for one Faraq i.e. three Sas of rice; but he departed; leaving it i.e. his wages. I sowed that Faraq of rice and with its yield I bought cows for him. Later on when he came to me asking for his wages; I said to him ; Go to those cows and drive them away. He said to me; But you have to pay me only a Faraq of rice; I said to him; Go to those cows and take them; for they are the product of that Faraq of rice. So he drove them. O Allah! If you consider that I did that for fear of You; then please remove the rock. The rock shifted a bit from the mouth of the cave. The second one said; O Allah; You know that I had old parents whom I used to provide with the milk of my sheep every night. One night I was delayed and when I came; they had slept; while my wife and children were crying with hunger. I used not to let them i.e. my family drink unless my parents had drunk first. So I disliked to wake them up and also disliked that they should sleep without drinking it; I kept on waiting for them to wake till it dawned. O Allah! If You consider that I did that for fear of you; then please remove the rock. So the rock shifted and they could see the sky through it. The third one said; O Allah! You know that I had a cousin i.e. my paternal uncle daughter who was most beloved to me and I sought to seduce her; but she refused; unless I paid her one-hundred Dinars i.e. gold pieces. So I collected the amount and brought it to her; and she allowed me to sleep with her. But when I sat between her legs; she said; Be afraid of Allah; and do not deflower me but legally. I said; Are you going to milk for me? He replied in the affirmative. I ordered him and he tied the legs of one of the sheep. Then I told him to clean the udder teats of dust and to remove dust off his hands. He removed the dust off his hands by clapping his hands. He then milked a little milk. A big rock rolled down from the mountain and closed the mouth of the cave. They said to each other; Think of good deeds which you did for Allah sake only; and invoke Allah by giving reference to those deeds so that He may remove this rock from you. One of them said; O Allah! I had old parents and small children and I used to graze the sheep for them. If I did it for Your sake only; please remove the rock. The rock shifted a little more. Then the third man said; O Allah! I employed a laborer for a Faraq of rice and when he finished his job and demanded his right; I presented it to him; but he refused to take it. So; I sowed the rice many time till I gathered cows and their shepherd from the yield. Then after some time He came and said to me; Fear Allah and give me my right. I said; Go and take those cows and the shepherd. He said; Be afraid of Allah! Dont mock at me. I said; I am not mocking at you. Take all that. So; he took all that. O Allah! When; in the morning; Allah Messenger ﷺ had finished the morning prayer; he saw four tents and asked; What is this? He was informed about it. He then said; What made them do this? After they had drunk from it; I would give it to my children; family and wife. One day I was delayed and on my return I found my parents sleeping; and I disliked to wake them up. The children were crying at my feet because of hunger. That state of affairs continued till it was dawn. O Allah! If You regard that I did it for Your sake; then please remove this rock so that we may see the sky. So; the rock was moved a bit. The second said; O Allah! You know that I was in love with a cousin of mine; like the deepest love a man may have for a woman; and she told me that I would not get my desire fulfilled unless I paid her one-hundred Dinars gold pieces. So; I struggled for it till I gathered the desired amount; and when I sat in between her legs; she told me to be afraid of Allah; and asked me not to deflower her except rightfully by marriage. When the month of Rajab came; we used to stop the military actions ; calling this month the iron remover; for we used to remove and throw away the iron parts of every spear and arrow in the month of Rajab. Allah said to His Prophet: Say O Muhammad ! No wage do I ask of You for this Quran nor am I one of the pretenders a person who pretends things which do not exist. 38.86 Now I will tell you about AlDukhan the smoke ; Allah Messenger ﷺ invited the Quraish to embrace Islam; but they delayed their response. So he said; O Allah! Help me against them by sending on them seven years of famine similar to the seven years of famine of Joseph. So the famine year overtook them and everything was destroyed till they ate dead animals and skins. People started imagining to see smoke between them and the sky because of severe hunger. Allah said: Then watch you for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke plainly visible; covering the people... This is painful torment. 44.10-11 So they invoked Allah Our Lord! Remove the punishment from us really we are believers. How can there be an effectual reminder for them when an Apostle; explaining things clearly; has already come to them? Then they had turned away from him and said: One taught by a human being ; a madman? We shall indeed remove punishment for a while; but truly; you will revert to disbelief. 44.12-15 Will the punishment be removed on the Day of Resurrection? Abdullah added; The punishment was removed from them for a while but they reverted to disbelief; so Allah destroyed them on the Day of Badr. Allah said to his Prophet: Say: No wage do I ask of you for this Quran ; nor am I one of the pretenders a person who pretends things which do not exist 38.86 When the Quraish troubled and stood against the Prophet ﷺ he said; O Allah! Help me against them by afflicting them with seven years of famine like the seven years of Joseph. So they were stricken with a year of famine during which they ate bones and dead animals because of too much suffering; and one of them would see something like smoke between him and the sky because of hunger. Then they said: Our Lord! Remove the torment from us; really we are believers. 44.12 And then it was said to the Prophet by Allah ; If we remove it from them. they will revert to their ways of heathenism. So the Prophet ﷺ invoked his Lord; who removed the punishment from them; but later they reverted to heathenism ; whereupon Allah punished them on the day of the Battle of Badr; and that is what Allah Statement indicates: Then watch for the day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke plainly visible...we will indeed then exact retribution. 44.10. | The Chapter on Rain And Clouds And Smoke Associated With Punishments in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-21095 | Jabir Bin Abdullah reported: When the ditch was dug; I saw Allah Messenger may peace he upon him feeling very hungry. I came to my wife and said to her: Is there anything with you? I have seen Allah Messenger ﷺ feeling extremely hungry. She brought out a bag of provisions which contained a sa; of barley. We had also with us a lamb. I slaughtered it. She ground the flour. She finished this work along with me. I cut it into pieces and put it in the earthen pot and then returned to Allah Apostle ﷺ for inviting him. She said: Do not humiliate me in the presence of Allah Messenger ﷺ and those who are with him. When I came to him I whispered to him saying: Allah Messenger; we have slaughtered a lamb for you and she has ground a sa of barley which we had with us. So you come along with a group of people with you. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said loudly: O people of the ditch; Jabir has arranged a feast for you; so come along. Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Do not remove your earthen pot from the hearth and do not bake the bread from the kneaded flour until I come. So I came and Allah Messenger ﷺ came and he was ahead of the people; and I came to my wife and she said to me : You will be humbled. I said: I did what you had asked me to do. She his wife said: I brought out the kneaded flour and Allah Messenger ﷺ put some saliva of his in that and blessed It. He then put saliva in the earthen pot and blessed it and then said. Call another baker who can bake with you. and bring out the soup from it; but do not remove it from the hearth; and the guests were one thousand. Jabir said : I take an oath by Allah that all of them ate the food to their fill until they left it and went away and our earthen pot was brimming over as before; and so was the case with our flour; or as Dahhak another narrator said: It the flour was in the same condition and loaves had been prepared from that. | The Chapter on Food And Invitations in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 20 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-23871 | Ali Bin Abu Talib reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up at night for prayer he would say: I turn my face in complete devotion to One Who is the Originator of the heaven and the earth and I am not of the polytheists. Verily my prayer; my sacrifice; my living and my dying are for Allah; the Lord of the worlds; There is no partner with Him and this is what I have been commanded to profess and believe and I am of the believers. O Allah; Thou art the King; there is no god but Thee; Thou art my Lord; and I am Thy bondman. I wronged myself and make a confession of my Sin. Forgive all my sins; for no one forgives the sins but Thee; and guide me in the best of conduct for none but Thee guideth anyone in good conduct. Remove sins from me; for none else but Thou can remove sins from me. Here I am at Thy service; and Grace is to Thee and the whole of good is in Thine hand; and one cannot get nearneststo Thee through evil. My power as well as existence is due to Thee Thine grace and I turn to Thee for supplication. Thou art blessed and Thou art exalted. I seek forgiveness from Thee and turn to Thee in repentance: and when he would bow; he would say: O Allah; it is for Thee that I bowed. I affirm my faith in Thee and I submit to Thee; and submit humbly before Thee my hearing; my eyesight; my marrow; my bone; my sinew; and when he would raise his head; he would say: O Allah; our Lord; praise is due to Thee; the praise with which is filled the heavens and the earth; and with which is filled that space which exists between them; and filled with anything that Thou desireth afterward. And when he prostrated himself; he the Holy Prophet would say: O Allah; it is to Thee that I prostrate myself and it is in Thee that I affirm my faith; and I submit to Thee. My face is submitted before One Who created it; and shaped it; and opened his faculties of hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allah; the best of Creators; and he would then say between Tashahhud and the pronouncing of salutation: Forgive me of the earlier and later open and secret sins and that where I made transgression and that Thou knowest better than I. Thou art the First and the Last. There is no god; but Thee. | The Chapter on Allah Characteristics And Affirming Faith in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 26 in Sahih Muslim

So Abu Sufyan came to him and said: Verily your people are being destroyed; so supplicate to Allah for them. He said: So this is about His saying: The Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke; covering the people; this is a painful torment 44:10 & 11. MuwataMalik-017-001-34997 | Yahya said that Malik said; The best of what has been heard about a sharecropper stipulating on the owner of the property the inclusion of some slave workers; is that there is no harm in that if they are workers that come with the property. They are like the property. There is no profit in them for the share-cropper except to lighten some of his burden. If they did not come with the property; his toil would be harder. It is like share-cropping land with a spring or land with a watering trough. You will not find anyone who receives the same share for share-cropping two lands which are equal in property and yield; when one property has a constant plentiful spring and the other has a watering trough; because of the lightness of working land with a spring; and the hardship of working land with a watering trough. Malik added; That is what is done in our community. Malik said; A share-cropper cannot employ workers from the property in other work; and he cannot make that a stipulation with the one who gives him the share-cropping contract. Nor is it permitted to one who share-crops to stipulate on the owner of the property inclusion of slaves for use in the garden who are not in it when he makes the share-cropping contract. Nor must the owner of the property stipulate on the one who uses his property for share-cropping that he take any of the slaves of the property and remove him from the property. The share-cropping of property is based on the state which it is currently in. If the owner of the property wants to remove one of the slaves of the property; he removes him before the share-cropping; or if he wants to put someone into the property; he does it before the share-cropping. Then he grants the share-cropping contract after that if he wishes. If any of the slaves die or go off or become ill; the owner of the property must replace them. | The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And Contracts in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Dress in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35982 | Yahya related to me from Malik that Ata Ibn Abdullah AlKhurasani said that an old man from Suq AlBuram in Kufa had related to him that Kaab Ibn Ujra said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; came to me while I was blowing under a cooking pot belonging to my companions and my head and beard were full of lice. He took my forehead and said; Shave your hair and fast three days or feed six poor people. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was aware that I did not have anything with me to sacrifice. Malik said; concerning paying compensation fidya for the relief of physical discomfort; The custom concerning it is that no one pays compensation until he has done something which makes it obligatory to pay compensation just as making amends kaffara is only done when it has become obligatory for the one who owes it. The person can pay the compensation wherever he wishes; regardless of whether he has to sacrifice an animal or fast or give sadaqa - in Makka or in any other town. Malik said; It is not correct for a person in ihram to pluck out any of his hair or to shave it or cut it until he has left ihram; unless he is suffering from an ailment of the head; in which case he owes the compensation Allah the Exalted has ordered. It is not correct for a person in ihram to cut his nails; or to kill his lice; or to remove them from his head or from his skin or his garment to the ground. If a person in ihram removes lice from his skin or his garment; he must give away the quantity of food that he can scoop up with both hands. Malik said;Anyone who; while in ihram; plucks out hairs from his nose or armpit or rubs his body with a depilatory agent or shaves the hair from around a head wound out of necessity or shaves his neck for the place of the cupping glasses; regardless of whether it is in forgetfulness or in ignorance; owes compensation in all these instances; and he must not shave the place of the cupping glasses. Someone; who; out of ignorance; shaves his head before he stones the jamra. must also pay compensation. | The Chapter on Grooming Cutting The Hair Asking For Mercy During Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik |
