SahihAlBukhari-017-001-029Narrated Salim father: In the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ whosoever saw a dream would narrate it to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I had a wish of seeing a dream to narrate it to Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ I was a grown up boy and used to sleep in the Masjid in the lifetime of the Prophet. I saw in the dream that two angels caught hold of me and took me to the Fire which was built all round like a built well and had two poles in it and the people in it were known to me. I started saying; I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire. Then I met another angel who told me not to be afraid. I narrated the dream to Hafsa who told it to Allah Messenger ﷺ. The Prophet said; Abdullah is a good man. I wish he prayed Tahajjud. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1356Narrated Hudhaifa: Allah Messenger ﷺ related to us; two prophetic narrations one of which I have seen fulfilled and I am waiting for the fulfillment of the other. The Prophet ﷺ told us that the virtue of honesty descended in the roots of men hearts from Allah and then they learned it from the Quran and then they learned it from the Sunna the Prophet traditions. The Prophet ﷺ further told us how that honesty will be taken away: He said: Man will go to sleep during which honesty will be taken away from his heart and only its trace will remain in his heart like the trace of a dark spot; then man will go to sleep; during which honesty will decrease further still; so that its trace will resemble the trace of blister as when an ember is dropped on one foot which would make it swell; and one would see it swollen but there would be nothing inside. People would be carrying out their trade but hardly will there be a trustworthy person. It will be said; in such-and-such tribe there is an honest man; and later it will be said about some man; What a wise; polite and strong man he is! Though he will not have faith equal even to a mustard seed in his heart. No doubt; there came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing bargaining with anyone of you; for if he was a Muslim his Islam would compel him to pay me what is due to me; and if he was a Christian; the Muslim official would compel him to pay me what is due to me; but today I do not deal except with such-and-such person. The Chapter on Pulpit And Khutba And Preaching Morals in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If a Muslim stays among the bad people in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1415Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: Some angels came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sleeping. Some of them said; He is sleeping. Others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they said; There is an example for this companion of yours. One of them said; Then set forth an example for him. Some of them said; He is sleeping. The others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they said; His example is that of a man who has built a house and then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter messenger to invite the people. So whoever accepted the invitation of the inviter; entered the house and ate of the banquet; and whoever did not accept the invitation of the inviter; did not enter the house; nor did he eat of the banquet. Then the angels said; Interpret this example to him so that he may understand it. Some of them said; He is sleeping. The others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. And then they said; The houses stands for Paradise and the call maker is Muhammad; and whoever obeys Muhammad; obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys Muhammad; disobeys Allah. Muhammad separated the people i.e.; through his message; the good is distinguished from the bad; and the believers from the disbelievers. The Chapter on Entering in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Following the Sunna of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1520Narrated Abu Burda: Abu Mousa said; I came to the Prophet ﷺ along with two men from the tribe of Ashariyin; one on my right and the other on my left; while Allah Messenger ﷺ was brushing his teeth with a Siwak ; and both men asked him for some employment. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Abu Mousa O Abdullah Bin Qais!. I said; By Him Who sent you with the Truth; these two men did not tell me what was in their hearts and I did not feel realize that they were seeking employment. As if I were looking now at his Siwak being drawn to a corner under his lips; and he said; We never or; we do not appoint for our affairs anyone who seeks to be employed. But O Abu Mousa! or Abdullah Bin Qais! Go to Yemen. The Prophet then sent Muadh Bin Jabal after him and when Muadh reached him; he spread out a cushion for him and requested him to get down and sit on the cushion. Behold: There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Muadh asked; Who is this man ? Abu Muisa said; He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism. Then Abu Muisa requested Muadh to sit down but Muadh said; I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle for such cases and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Mousa ordered that the man be killed; and he was killed. Abu Mousa added; Then we discussed the night prayers and one of us said; I pray and sleep; and I hope that Allah will reward me for my sleep as well as for my prayers. The Chapter on Jihad And Livestock in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlMurtad and AlMurtaddah in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1798Narrated AlHarith Bin Suwaid: Abdullah Bin Masud related to us two narrations: One from the Prophet ﷺ and the other from himself; saying: A believer sees his sins as if he were sitting under a mountain which; he is afraid; may fall on him; whereas the wicked person considers his sins as flies passing over his nose and he just drives them away like this. Abu Shihab the sub-narrator moved his hand over his nose in illustration. Ibn Masud added : Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than a man who encamps at a place where his life is jeopardized; but he has his riding beast carrying his food and water. He then rests his head and sleeps for a short while and wakes to find his riding beast gone. He starts looking for it and suffers from severe heat and thirst or what Allah wished him to suffer from. He then says; I will go back to my place. He returns and sleeps again; and then getting up ; he raises his head to find his riding beast standing beside him.The Chapter on Forgiveness And Repents in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AtTauba in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1814Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet ﷺ intended to go to bed; he would recite: Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya With Your name; O Allah; I die and I live. And when he woke up from his sleep; he would say: Alhamdu lil-lahil-ladhi ahyana bada ma amatana; wa ilaihi AlNushur All the Praises are for Allah Who has made us alive after He made us die sleep and unto Him is the Resurrection.Chapter on What to say when one gets up in the morning in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2198Narrated Hudhaifa: Allah Messenger ﷺ narrated to us two narrations; one of which I have seen happening and I am waiting for the other. He narrated that honesty was preserved in the roots of the hearts of men in the beginning and then they learnt it honesty from the Quran; and then they learnt it from the Prophets Sunna tradition. He also told us about its disappearance; saying; A man will go to sleep whereupon honesty will be taken away from his heart; and only its trace will remain; resembling the traces of fire. He then will sleep whereupon the remainder of the honesty will also be taken away from his heart and its trace will resemble a blister which is raised over the surface of skin; when an ember touches one foot; and in fact; this blister does not contain anything. So there will come a day when people will deal in business with each other but there will hardly be any trustworthy persons among them. Then it will be said that in such-and-such a tribe there is such-and-such person who is honest; and a man will be admired for his intelligence; good manners and strength; though indeed he will not have belief equal to a mustard seed in his heart. The narrator added: There came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing with anyone of you; for if he was a Muslim; his religion would prevent him from cheating; and if he was a Christian; his Muslim ruler would prevent him from cheating; but today I cannot deal except with so-and-so and so-and-so. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2655Narrated Abu Juhaifa: The Prophet ﷺ established a bond of brotherhood between Salman and Abu AlDarda. Salman paid a visit to Abu AlDarda and found Um AlDarda dressed in shabby clothes and asked her why she was in that state.? She replied; Your brother; Abu AlDarda is not interested in the luxuries of this world. In the meantime Abu AlDarda came and prepared a meal for him Salman ; and said to him; Please eat for I am fasting. Salman said; I am not going to eat; unless you eat. So Abu AlDarda ate. When it was night; Abu AlDarda got up for the night prayer. Salman said to him ; Sleep; and he slept. Again Abu AlDarda got up for the prayer ; and Salman said to him ; Sleep. When it was the last part of the night; Salman said to him; Get up now for the prayer. So both of them offered their prayers and Salman said to Abu AlDarda;Your Lord has a right on you; and your soul has a right on you; and your family has a right on you; so you should give the rights of all those who have a right on you. Later on Abu AlDarda visited the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2882Narrated Abu Dharr: I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was wearing white clothes and sleeping. Then I went back to him again after he had got up from his sleep. He said; Nobody says: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and then later on he dies while believing in that; except that he will enter Paradise. I said; Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft? He said. Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft. I said; Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft? He said. Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft. I said; Even it he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft? He said; Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft; inspite of the Abu Dharr dislike. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3354Narrated Aisha: We went out with Allah Messenger ﷺ on one of his journeys till we reached AlBaida or Dhat AlJaish where my necklace got broken and lost. Allah Messenger ﷺ stopped to search for it and the people too stopped with him. There was no water at that place and they had no water with them. So they went to Abu Bakr and said; Dont you see what Aisha has done? She has made Allah Messenger ﷺ and the people stop where there is no water and they have no water with them. Abu Bakr came while Allah Apostle was sleeping with his head on my thigh and said; You detained Allah Apostle and the people where there is no water and they have no water. He then admonished me and said what Allah wished and pinched me at my flanks with his hands; but I did not move because the head of Allah Messenger ﷺ was on my thigh. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept on sleeping till be got up in the morning and found no water. Then Allah revealed the Divine Verse of Tayammum; and the people performed Tayammum. Usaid Bin AlHudair said. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3419Narrated Ibn Umar: If a man saw a dream during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ he would narrate it to the Prophet. Once I wished to see a dream and narrate it to the Prophet ﷺ I was young; unmarried; and used to sleep in the Masjid during the lifetime of the Prophet. I dreamt that two angels took me and went away with me towards the Hell Fire which looked like a well with the inside walls built up; and had two side-walls like those of a well. There I saw some people in it whom I knew. I started saying; I seek Refuge with Allah from the Hell Fire; I seek Refuge with Allah from the Hell Fire. Then another angel met the other two and said to me; Do not be afraid. I narrated my dream to Hafsa who; in her turn; narrated it to the Prophet. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3517Narrated Urwa Bin AlZubair: Aisha; the wife of the Prophet ﷺ told him that there were four types of marriage during Pre-Islamic period of Ignorance. One type was similar to that of the present day i.e. a man used to ask somebody else for the hand of a girl under his guardianship or for his daughter hand; and give her Mahr and then marry her. The second type was that a man would say to his wife after she had become clean from her period. Send for so-and-so and have sexual intercourse with him. Her husband would then keep awy from her and would never sleep with her till she got pregnant from the other man with whom she was sleeping. When her pregnancy became evident; he husband would sleep with her if he wished. Her husband did so i.e. let his wife sleep with some other man so that he might have a child of noble breed. Such marriage was called as AlIstibda. Another type of marriage was that a group of less than ten men would assemble and enter upon a woman; and all of them would have sexual relation with her. If she became pregnant and delivered a child and some days had passed after delivery; she would sent for all of them and none of them would refuse to come; and when they all gathered before her; she would say to them; You all know waht you have done; and now I have given birth to a child. So; it is your child so-and-so! naming whoever she liked; and her child would follow him and he could not refuse to take him. The fourth type of marriage was that many people would enter upon a lady and she would never refuse anyone who came to her. Those were the prostitutes who used to fix flags at their doors as sign; and he who would wished; could have sexual intercourse with them. If anyone of them got pregnant and delivered a child; then all those men would be gathered for her and they would call the Qaif persons skilled in recognizing the likeness of a child to his father to them and would let the child follow the man whom they recognized as his father and she would let him adhere to him and be called his son. The man would not refuse all that. But when Muhammad ﷺ was sent with the Truth; he abolished all the types of marriages observed in pre-Islamic period of Ignorance except the type of marriage the people recognize today. The Chapter on Marriage And Pregnancy in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever said A marriage is not valid except through the Wali in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3577Narrated Aisha: Eleven women sat at a place and promised and contracted that they would not conceal anything of the news of their husbands. The first one said; My husband is like the meat of a slim weak camel which is kept on the top of a mountain which is neither easy to climb; nor is the meat fat; so that one might put up with the trouble of fetching it. The second one said; I shall not relate my husband news; for I fear that I may not be able to finish his story; for if I describe him; I will mention all his defects and bad traits. The third one said; My husband; the too-tall! if I describe him and he hears of that he will divorce me; and if I keep quiet; he will keep me hanging neither divorcing me nor treating me as a wife. The fourth one said; My husband is moderate in temper like the night of Tihama: neither hot nor cold; I am neither afraid of him; nor am I discontented with him. The fifth one said; My husband; when entering the house is a leopard sleeps a lot ; and when going out; is a lion boasts a lot. He does not ask about whatever is in the house. The sixth one said; If my husband eats; he eats too much leaving the dishes empty ; and if he drinks he leaves nothing; if he sleeps he sleeps he rolls himself alone in our blankets ; and he does not insert his palm to inquire about my feelings. The seventh one said; My husband is a wrong-doer or weak and foolish. All the defects are present in him. He may injure your head or your body or may do both. The eighth one said; My husband is soft to touch like a rabbit and smells like a Zarnab a kind of good smelling grass. The ninth one said; My husband is a tall generous man wearing a long strap for carrying his sword. His ashes are abundant i.e. generous to his guests and his house is near to the people who would easily consult him. The tenth one said; My husband is Malik possessor ; and what is Malik? Malik is greater than whatever I say about him. He is beyond and above all praises which can come to my mind. Most of his camels are kept at home ready to be slaughtered for the guests and only a few are taken to the pastures. When the camels hear the sound of the lute or the tambourine they realize that they are going to be slaughtered for the guests. The eleventh one said; My husband is Abu Zar and what is Abu Zar i.e.; what should I say about him ? He has given me many ornaments and my ears are heavily loaded with them and my arms have become fat i.e.; I have become fat. And he has pleased me; and I have become so happy that I feel proud of myself. He found me with my family who were mere owners of sheep and living in poverty; and brought me to a respected family having horses and camels and threshing and purifying grain. Whatever I say; he does not rebuke or insult me. When I sleep; I sleep till late in the morning; and when I drink water or milk ; I drink my fill. The mother of Abu Zar and what may one say in praise of the mother of Abu Zar? Her saddle bags were always full of provision and her house was spacious. As for the son of Abu Zar; what may one say of the son of Abu Zar? His bed is as narrow as an unsheathed sword and an arm of a kid of four months satisfies his hunger. As for the daughter of Abu Zar; she is obedient to her father and to her mother. She has a fat well-built body and that arouses the jealousy of her husband other wife. As for the maid slave girl of Abu Zar; what may one say of the maid slavegirl of Abu Zar? She does not uncover our secrets but keeps them; and does not waste our provisions and does not leave the rubbish scattered everywhere in our house. The eleventh lady added; One day it so happened that Abu Zar went out at the time when the milk was being milked from the animals; and he saw a woman who had two sons like two leopards playing with her two breasts. On seeing her he divorced me and married her. Thereafter I married a noble man who used to ride a fast tireless horse and keep a spear in his hand. He gave me many things; and also a pair of every kind of livestock and said; Eat of this ; O Umm Dharr; and give provision to your relatives. She added; Yet; all those things which my second husband gave me could not fill the smallest utensil of Abu Zars. Aisha then said: Allah Messenger ﷺ said to me; I am to you as Abu Zar was to his wife Umm Dharr. The Chapter on Marriage And The House in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To treat the family in a polite and kind manner in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3661Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ sent a messenger to his wives to bring something for that man to eat but they said that they had nothing except water. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Who will take this person or entertain him as a guest? An Ansar man said; I. So he took him to his wife and said to her; Entertain generously the guest of Allah Messenger ﷺ She said; We have got nothing except the meals of my children. He said; Prepare your meal; light your lamp and let your children sleep if they ask for supper. So she prepared her meal; lighted her lamp and made her children sleep; and then stood up pretending to mend her lamp; but she put it off. Then both of them pretended to be eating; but they really went to bed hungry. In the morning the Ansari went to Allah Messenger ﷺ who said; Tonight Allah laughed or wondered at your action. He used to offer four rakat; let alone their beauty and length; and then four rakat; let alone their beauty and length. Afterwards he would offer three rakat. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The second said; He is the best of them. That was all that happened then; and he did not see them till they came at another night and he perceived their presence with his heart; for the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ were closed when he was asleep; but his heart was not asleep not unconscious. He said: The man would have a wink of sleep and trustworthiness would be taken away from his heart leaving the impression of a faint mark. He would again sleep and trustworthiness would be taken away from his heart leaving an impression of a blister; as if you rolled down an ember on your foot and it was vesicled. He would see a swelling having nothing in it. He the Holy Prophet then took up a pebble and rolled it down over his foot and said : The people would enter into transactions amongst one another and hardly a person would be left who would return things entrusted to him. And there would be so much paucity of honest persons till it would be said: There in such a such tribe is a trustworthy man. And they would also say about a person: How prudent he is; how broad-minded he is and how intelligent he is; whereas in his heart there would not be faith even to the weight of a mustard seed. I have passed through a time in which I did not care with whom amongst you I entered into a transaction; for if he were a Muslim his faith would compel him to discharge his obligations to me and it he were a Christian or a Jew; the ruler would compel him to discharge his obligations to me. But today I would not enter into a transaction with you except so and so.The Chapter on Family And Judgments in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 64 in Sahih Muslim

The deeds in the night are taken up to Him before the deeds of the day; and the deeds of the day before the deeds of the night. His veil is the light. SahihMuslim-017-001-19021AlBara Bin Azib reported that Abu Bakr AlSiddiq came to the residence of my father Azib and bought a haudaj from him and said to Azib: Send your son to my residence to carry this haudaj ; and my father said to me: Carry it for him. So I carried it and there went along with him with Abu Bakr my father in order to fetch its price and he Azib said to Abu Bakr: Abu Bakr; narrate to me what you both did on the night when you set out on a journey along with Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said: We set out during the night and went on walking until it was noon; and the path was vacant and so none passed by that until there appeared prominently before us a large rock. It had its shade and the rays of the sun did not reach that place. So we got down at that place. I then went to the rock and levelled the ground with my hands at the place where the Prophet ﷺ would take rest under its shade. I then set the bedding and said: Allah Messenger; go to sleep and I shall keep a watch around you. I went out and watched around him. There we saw a shepherd moving towards that rock with his flock and he intended what we intended i. e. taking rest. I met him and said to him: Young boy; to which place do you belong? He said: I am a person from Medina. I said; is there any milk in the udders of your sheep and goats? He said: Yes. He took hold of a goat; and I said to him: Clean the udder well so that it should be free from hair; dust and impurity. I saw AlBara striking his hand upon the other to give an indication how he did that. He milked the goat for me in a wooden cup which he had with him and I had with me a bucket in which I kept water for drinking and for performing ablution. I came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and did not like to awaken him from sleep but he was accidentally startled from the sleep. I poured water upon the milk till It was cold and I said: Allah Messenger; take this milk. He then took It and I was delighted and he the Holy Prophet said: Is now not the time to march on? I said: Of course. So he marched on after the sun had passed the meridian and Suraqa Bin Malik pursued us and we had been walking on soft; level ground. I said: Allah Messenger; we are about to be overtaken by them. Thereupon he said: Be not grieved. Verily; Allah is with us. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ cursed him and his horse sank into the earth. I think he also said: I know you have hurled curse upon me. So supplicate Allah for me and I take an oath that I shall turn everyone away who would come in search of you. So he Allah Messenger supplicated Allah and he was rescued and he came back and to everyone he met; he said: I have combed all this side. In short; he diverted everyone whom he met and he in fact fulfilled his promise. The Chapter on Milk in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 19 in Sahih Muslim

And when they would reach the plain ground they would be sunk. We said: Allah Messenger; all sorts of people throng the path. Thereupon he said: Yes; there would be amongst them people who would come with definite designs and those who would come under duress and there would be travellers also; but they would all be destroyed through one stroke of destruction. though they would be raised in different states on the Day of Resurrection. He sleeps being disappointed of its recovery and then gets up and goes in search for that; until he is stricken with thirst. then comes back to the place where he had been before and goes to sleep completely exhausted placing his head upon his hands waiting for death. He went on until he came to a waterless desert and he felt like sleeping. So he got down under the shade of a tree and was overcome by sleep and his camel ran away. As he got up he tried to see the camel standing upon a mound. but did not find it. He then got upon the other mound; but could not see anything. He then climbed upon the third mound but did not see anything until he came back to the place where he had been previously. And as he was sitting in utter disappointment there came to him the camel; till that camel placed its nosestring in his hand. SahihMuslim-017-001-19646Ibn Abbas reported that Mousailima AlKadhdhab the greater liar who claimed prophethood after the death of the Holy Prophet came during the lifetime of Allah Apostle ﷺ to Medina and said: If Muhammad assigns his caliphate to me after him I would follow him; and there came along with him a large body of persons of his tribe; and there came to him Allah Apostle ﷺ along with Thabit Bin Qais Bin Shammas and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ had a piece of wood in his hand until he came in front of Mousailima in the company of his companions and said: If you were to ask even this wood ; I would never give it to you. I am not going to do anything against the will of God in your case; and if you turn away from what I say Allah will destroy you. And I find you in the same state which I was shown in the dream and here is Thabit and he would answer you on my behalf. He the Holy Prophet then went back. Then another Angel joined the two others; and said unto me: You need not fear I narrated this dream to llafsa and she narrated it to Allah Messenger; whereupon Allah Apostle said: Worthy is this man Abdullah; O that he would pray at night; and Silim added that Abdullah afterwards slept only but for a small part of the night. The Chapter on Charity To Save Oneself From Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 31 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-21142Miqdad reported: I and two of my companions were so much afflicted by hunger that we had lost our power of seeing and hearing. We presented ourselves as guests to the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ ; but none amongst them would entertain us. So we came to Allah Apostle ﷺ ; and he took us to his residence and there were three goats. Allah Apostle ﷺ said: Milk these for us. So we milked them and every person amongst us drank his share and we set Aasi de the share of Allah Apostle ﷺ. It was his habit to come during the night and greet the people present there in a manner that would not wake up one in sleep but make one who was awake hear it. He would then go to the Masjid and say prayer; then go to the milk and drink it. Miqdad added: One night the Satan came to me when I had taken my share; and he said: Muhammad has gone to the Ansar; who would offer him hospitality and he would get what is with them; and he has no need for this draught of milk. So I took that milk and drank it; and when it had penetrated deeply in my stomach and I was certain that there was no way out but to digest it ; the Satan aroused my sense of remorse and said: Woe be to thee! what have you done? You have taken the drink reserved for Muhammad! When he would come and he would not find it; he would curse you; and you would be ruined; and thus there would go waste this world and the Hereafter for you. There was a sheet over me; as I placed pulled it upon my feet; my head was uncovered and as I placed it upon my head; my feet were uncovered; and I could not sleep; but my two companions had gone to sleep for they had not done what I had done. There came Allah Apostle ﷺ ; and he greeted as he used to greet by saying AlSalamu Alaikum. He then came to the Masjid and observed prayer and then came to his drink milk and uncovered it; but did not find anything in it. He raised his head towards the sky; and I said to myself that he the Holy Prophet was going to invoke curse upon me and I would be thus ruined; but he the Holy Prophet said: Allah; feed him who fed me and give drink to him who provided me drink. I held tight the sheet upon myself and when he had supplicated ; I took hold of the knife and went to the goats possessed by the Holy Prophet so that I may slauhter one for Allah Messenger ﷺ which was the fattest amongst them; and in fact all of them were milch goats; then I took hold of the vessel which belonged to the family of Allah Messenger ﷺ in which they used to milk and drink therefrom; and milked them in that until it swelled up with foam. I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and he said: Have you taken your share of the milk during the night? I said: Drink it. and he drank it; he then handed over the vessel to me and I said: Allah Messenger; drink it; and he drank it and handed over the vessel to me again; I then perceived that Allah Apostle ﷺ had been satiated and I had got his blessings. I burst into laughter so much so that I fell upon the ground; whereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Miqdad; it must be one of your mischiefs. I said: Allah Messenger; this affair of mind is like this and this. and I have done so. Thereupon. Allah Apostle ﷺ said: This is nothing but a mercy from Allah. Why is it that you did not give me an opportunity so that we should have awakened our two friends and they would have got their share of the milk ? I said: By Him Who has sent you with Truth. I do not mind whatever you give to them ; and whatever the other people happen to get; when I had got it along with you from among the people. The Chapter on Milk in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 32 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-21862Muhammad Bin Qais said to the people : Should I not narrate to you a hadith of the Holy Prophet on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He Muhammad Bin Qais then reported that it was Aisha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah Messenger ﷺ to spend the night with me; he turned his side; put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet; and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly; and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head; put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper; and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times; and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came to the house and I also came to the house. I; however; preceded him and I entered the house ; and as I lay down in the bed; he the Holy Prophet entered the house ; and said: Why is it; O Aisha; that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah; may my father and mother be ransom for you; and then I told him the whole story. He said: Was it the darkness of your shadow that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He gave me a nudge on the chest which I felt; and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? She said: Whatsoever the people conceal; Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call; but I too concealed it from you for he did not come to you ; as you were not fully dressed. I thought that you had gone to sleep; and I did not like to awaken you; fearing that you may be frightened. He Gabriel said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi to those lying in the graves and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah; how should I pray for them How should I beg forgiveness for them ? He said: Say; Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city graveyard from among the Believers and the Muslims; and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us; and those who come later on; and we shall; God willing; join you.The Chapter on Good Manners And Mothers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 35 in Sahih Muslim

I said: What is the matter with the people that they are praying a special prayer ? She Aisha pointed towards the sky with her head. I said: Is it an unusual sign? She said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up for prayer for such a long time that I was about to faint. I caught hold of a waterskin lying by my side; and began to pour water over my head; or began to sprinkle water on my face. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then finished and the sun had brightened. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then addressed the people; after praising Allah and lauding Him; and then said: There was no such thing as I did not see earlier; but I saw it at this very place of mine. I ever saw Paradise and Hell. It was also revealed to me that you would be tried in the graves; as you would he tried something like the turmoil of the Dajjal. Asma said: I do not know which word he actually used qariban or mithl ; and each one of you would be brought and it would be said: What is your knowledge about this man? If the person is a believer; Asma said: I do not know whether it was the word AlMumin or AlMuqin he would say: He is Muhammad and he is the Messenger of Allah. He brought to us the clear signs and right guidance. So we responded and obeyed him. He would repeat this three times ; and it would be said to him: You should go to sleep. We already knew that you are a believer in him. So the pious man would go to sleep. So far as the hypocrite or sceptic is concerned Asma said: I do not know which word was that: AlMunafiq hypocrite or AlMurtad doubtful he would say: I do not know. Then the Messenger of Allah s.a.w described his parents for us: His father is tall; with little fat; with a nose as if it were a beak. His mother is a bulky woman with long breasts. So Abu Bakrah said: I heard about a child being born to some Jews in AlMadinah. So AlZubair Bin AlAwam and I went until we entered upon his parents. They appeared as the Messenger of Allah s.a.w had described them. We said: Do you have any children? He asked : What do you say Abu Mousa; or Abdullah Bin Qais Abu Mousas name ? I replied: By him who has sent you with truth; they did not inform me of what they had in their hearts; and I did not know that they would ask for an employment. He said : I have the scene before my eyes that he had his toothstick below his lip which receded. He the prophet said: We will never or will not put in charge of our work anyone who asks for it. But go; ye; Abu Mousa; or Abdullah Bin Qais. He then sent him as a Governor of the Yemen; After him he sent Muadh Bin Jabal. When Muadh came to him; he said: come down ; and he put a cushion for him. He saw that a man was chained with him. He asked : What is this? He replied: He was a Jew and he accepted Islam. He then converted to his religion; an evil religion. He said: I will not sit until he is killed according to the decision of Allah and his Apostle ﷺ. He said: Yes; be seated. He said: I will not sit until he is killed according to the decision of Allah and his Apostle ﷺ. He said it three times. He then commanded for it and he was killed. Neither the Prophet ﷺ nor Bilal nor any of his Companions could get up till the sunshine struck them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up first of all. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was embarrassed and said: O Bilal ! He replied: He who detained your soul; detained my soul; Messenger of Allah; my parents be sacrificed for you. Then they drove their mounts to a little distance. The Prophet ﷺ perfumed ablution and commanded Bilal who made announcement for the prayer. He the Prophet led them in the Fajr prayer. When he finished prayer; he said: If anyone forget saying prayer; he should observe it when he recalls it; for Allah has said in the Quran : Establish prayer for my remembrance. Yunus said: Ibn Shihab used to recite this verse in a similar way i.e. instead of reciting the word li-dhikri - for the sake of My remembrance - he would recite li-dhikra - when you remember. Bilal called for prayer and they offered two rakahs of Sunnah of Fajr and then offered the Fajr prayer and mounted their mounts. Some of them said to others: We showed negligence in prayer. MuwataMalik-017-001-36154Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father that Aisha; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; used to say; If you have intercourse with your wife and then wish to go to sleep before doing ghusl; do not sleep until you have done Ablution as for prayer. The Chapter on Ablution Or Tayammum After Sleeping in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Quran in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36155Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar; if he wished to sleep or eat while junub; would wash his face; and his arms to the elbows; and wipe his head. Then he would eat or sleep. 2.20 The Repetition of the Prayer by a Person in a State of Major Ritual Impurity; his Doing Ghusl; when He has Prayed without Remembering it; and his Washing his Garments. The Chapter on Personal Hygiene Hands And Face in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Quran in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36160Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father fromYahyaibn Abdulrahman Ibn Ha ib that he had set off for Mumra with Umar Ibn AlKhattab in a party of riders; among whom was Amr Ibn AlAs. Umar Ibn AlKhattab dismounted for a rest late at night on a certain road near a certain oasis. Umar had a wet dream when it was almost dawn and there was no water among the riding party. He rode until he came to some water and then he began to wash off what he saw of the semen until it had gone. Amr Ibn AlAs said to him; It is morning and there are clothes with us; so allow your garment to be washed. Umar Ibn AlKhattab said to him; I am surprised at you; Amr Ibn AlAs! Even if you could find clothes; would everybody be able to find them? By Allah; if I were to do it; it would become a sunna. No; I wash what I see; and I sprinkle with water what I do not see. Malik spoke about a man who found traces of a wet dream on his clothes and did not know when it had occurred and did not remember anything he had seen in his sleep. He said; Let the intention of his ghusl be from the time when he last slept; and if he has prayed since that last sleep he should repeat it. This is because often a man has a wet dream and sees nothing; and often he sees something but does not have an emission. But; if he finds liquid on his garment he must do ghusl. This is because Umar repeated what he had prayed after the time he had last slept and not what was before it.The Chapter on Ablution After Dreams Menstruation And Sexual Intercourse in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Quran in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36197Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi; the mawla of Abdullah Ibn Umar; that Umar Ibn AlKhattab wrote to his governors saying; The most important of your affairs in my view is the prayer. Whoever protects it and observes it carefully is protecting his deen; while whoever is negligent about it will be even more negligent about other things. Then he added; Pray dhuhr any time from when the afternoon shade is the length of your forearm until the length of your shadow matches your height. Pray asr when the sun is still pure white; so that a rider can travel two or three farsakhs before the sun sets. Pray maghrib when the sun has set. Pray isha any time from when the redness in the western sky has disappeared until a third of the night has passed - and a person who sleeps; may he have no rest; a person who sleeps; may he have no rest. And pray subh when all the stars are visible and like a haze in the sky.The Chapter on Sleeping Past Asr Obligatory Prayers in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Quran in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36217Yahya related to me from Malik that Zayd Ibn Aslam said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; stopped for a rest one night on the way to Makka and appointed Bilal to wake them up for the prayer. Bilal slept and everyone else slept and none of them woke up until the sun had risen. When they did wake up they were all alarmed. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered them to ride out of the valley; saying that there was a shaytan in it. So they rode out of the valley and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered them to dismount and do Ablution and he told Bilal either to call the prayer or to give the iqama. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then led them in the prayer. Noticing their uneasiness; he went to them and said; O people! Allah seized our spirits arwah and if He had wished He would have returned them to us at a time other than this. So if you sleep through the time for a prayer or forget it and then are anxious about it; pray it as if you were praying it in its time. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; turned to Abu Bakr and said; Shaytan came to Bilal when he was standing in prayer and made him lie down and lulled him to sleep like a small boy. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then called Bilal and told him the same as he had told Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr declared; I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah. The Chapter on Peace And Ablution in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Asking for Rain in Muwata Malik
