Ibn Juraij said; I said to Ata; I heard Ibn Abbas saying: Once Allah Messenger ﷺ delayed the Isha prayer to such an extent that the people slept and got up and slept again and got up again. Then Umar Bin AlKhattab I; stood up and reminded the Prophet ﷺ I of the prayer. Ata said; Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet came out as if I was looking at him at this time; and water was trickling from his head and he was putting his hand on his head and then said; Hadnt I thought it hard for my followers; I would have ordered them to pray Isha prayer at this time. I asked Ata for further information; how the Prophet had kept his hand on his head as he was told by Ibn Abbas. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24708 | The client of Ibn Abbas said that he asked him: How would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray during the night ? He replied: I spent a night with him when he was with Maimunah. He slept and awoke when half the night or one-third of it had passed. He stood up and went to a leather bad containing water. He performed ablution and I also performed ablution with him. He then stood up and I also stood at his left side. He made me stand at his right side. He then put his hand upon my head; as he was touching my ear and awakening me. He then prayed two light rakahs and recited Surah AlFatihah in each of them; and uttered the salutation. He then prayed eleven rakahs observing the witr and slept. Then Bilal came to him and said: Prayer; Messenger of Allah. He got up and prayed two rakahs; and then led the people in the prayer. | The Chapter on Standing For Prayers After Sleeping in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on On The Night Prayer in Sunan Abu Dawoud

When half the night passed; or a little before it or a little after it; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ awoke and began to rub his face eyes to remove the sleep. He then recited ten verses from the last part of Surah AlImran. Hen then came to a bag of water that was hanging. He performed ablution from it and performed his ablution well. He then stood up and prayed. I also got up and did as he did. I then went and stood at his side. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his right hand upon my head and took me by my ear twisting it. He then prayed two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs. The narrator AlQanabi said: Six times. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24766 | Abdullah Bin Abu Qais said: I asked Aisha about the witr observes by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She replied: Sometime he observed the witr prayer in the early hours of the night; sometimes he observed it at the end of it. I asked: How did he recite the Quran ? Did he recite the Quran quietly or loudly ? She replied: He did it in any way. Sometimes he recited quietly and sometimes loudly; sometimes he took bath and then slept and sometimes he performed ablution and then slept.Abu Dawud said: The narrators other than Qutaibah said: This refer to his bath due to sexual defilement. | The Chapter on Menstruation And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Time Of The Witr Prayer in Sunan Abu Dawoud

He then offered the prayer known as witr.Abu Dawud said: Fudail on the authority if Husain reported the wording: He then used the tooth-stick and performed ablution while he was reciting the verses: Verily in the creation of the heaves and the earth... until he finished the chapter. | The Chapter on Ablution In Basic Instinct in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Using The Siwak When Praying The Voluntary Night Prayer in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26590 | Narrated Safwan Bin Umayah: I was sleeping in the Masjid on a cloak mine whose price was thirty dirhams. A man came and pinched it away from me. The man was seized and brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered that his hand should be cut off. I came to him and said: Do you cut off only for thirty dirhams ? I sell it to him and make the payment of its price a loan ? He said: Why did you not do so before bringing him to me ?Abu Dawud said: Zaidah has also transmitted it from Simak from Juayd Ibn Hujayr. MuwataMalik-017-001-36160 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father fromYahyaibn Abdulrahman Ibn Ha ib that he had set off for Mumra with Umar Ibn AlKhattab in a party of riders; among whom was Amr Ibn AlAs. Umar Ibn AlKhattab dismounted for a rest late at night on a certain road near a certain oasis. Umar had a wet dream when it was almost dawn and there was no water among the riding party. He rode until he came to some water and then he began to wash off what he saw of the semen until it had gone. Amr Ibn AlAs said to him; It is morning and there are clothes with us; so allow your garment to be washed. Umar Ibn AlKhattab said to him; I am surprised at you; Amr Ibn AlAs! Even if you could find clothes; would everybody be able to find them? By Allah; if I were to do it; it would become a sunna. No; I wash what I see; and I sprinkle with water what I do not see. Malik spoke about a man who found traces of a wet dream on his clothes and did not know when it had occurred and did not remember anything he had seen in his sleep. He said; Let the intention of his ghusl be from the time when he last slept; and if he has prayed since that last sleep he should repeat it. This is because often a man has a wet dream and sees nothing; and often he sees something but does not have an emission. But; if he finds liquid on his garment he must do ghusl. This is because Umar repeated what he had prayed after the time he had last slept and not what was before it. | The Chapter on Ablution After Dreams Menstruation And Sexual Intercourse in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Quran in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36217 | Yahya related to me from Malik that Zayd Ibn Aslam said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; stopped for a rest one night on the way to Makka and appointed Bilal to wake them up for the prayer. Bilal slept and everyone else slept and none of them woke up until the sun had risen. When they did wake up they were all alarmed. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered them to ride out of the valley; saying that there was a shaytan in it. So they rode out of the valley and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered them to dismount and do Ablution and he told Bilal either to call the prayer or to give the iqama. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then led them in the prayer. Noticing their uneasiness; he went to them and said; O people! Allah seized our spirits arwah and if He had wished He would have returned them to us at a time other than this. So if you sleep through the time for a prayer or forget it and then are anxious about it; pray it as if you were praying it in its time. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; turned to Abu Bakr and said; Shaytan came to Bilal when he was standing in prayer and made him lie down and lulled him to sleep like a small boy. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then called Bilal and told him the same as he had told Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr declared; I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah. | The Chapter on Peace And Ablution in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Asking for Rain in Muwata Malik |
