All of them came to me in my garden; and the Prophet ﷺ started speaking to the Jew; but he Jew said; O Abu Qasim! I will not grant him respite. When the Prophet ﷺ saw the Jew attitude; he stood up and walked all around the garden and came again and talked to the Jew; but the Jew refused his request. I got up and brought some ripe fresh dates and put it in front of the Prophet. He ate and then said to me; Where is your hut; O Jabir? I informed him; and he said; Spread out a bed for me in it. I spread out a bed; and he entered and slept. When he woke up; I brought some dates to him again and he ate of it and then got up and talked to the Jew again; but the Jew again refused his request. Then the Prophet ﷺ got up for the second time amidst the palm trees loaded with fresh dates; and said; O Jabir! Pluck dates to repay your debt. The Jew remained with me while I was plucking the dates; till I paid him all his right; yet there remained extra quantity of dates. So I went out and proceeded till I reached the Prophet and informed him of the good news; whereupon he said; I testify that I am Allah Messenger ﷺ. | The Chapter on Food And Trees in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The eating of a spadix of the palm tree in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3379 | Narrated Ubaidullah Bin Adi Bin AlKhiyar: AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Abdulrahman Bin AlAswad Bin Abu Yaghuth said to me ; What forbids you to talk to Uthman about his brother AlWalid because people have talked much about him? So I went to Uthman and when he went out for prayer I said to him ; I have something to say to you and it is a piece of advice for you Uthman said; O man; from you. Umar said: I see that he said; I seek Refuge with Allah from you. So I left him and went to them. Then the messenger of Uthman came and I went to him i.e. Uthman ; Uthman asked; What is your advice? I replied; Allah sent Muhammad with the Truth; and revealed the Divine Book i.e. Quran to him; and you were amongst those who followed Allah and His Apostle; and you participated in the two migrations to Ethiopia and to Medina and enjoyed the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and saw his way. No doubt; the people are talking much about AlWalid. Uthman said; Did you receive your knowledge directly from Allah Messenger ﷺ ? I said; No; but his knowledge did reach me and it reached even to a virgin in her seclusion. Uthman said; And then Allah sent Muhammad with the Truth and I was amongst those who followed Allah and His Apostle and I believed in what ever he i.e. the Prophet was sent with; and participated in two migrations; as you have said; and I enjoyed the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and gave the pledge of allegiance him. By Allah! I never disobeyed him; nor did I cheat him till Allah took him unto Him. Then I treated Abu Bakr and then Umar similarly and then I was made Caliph. So; dont I have rights similar to theirs? I said; Yes. He said; Then what are these talks reaching me from you people? Now; concerning what you mentioned about the question of AlWalid; Allah willing; I shall deal with him according to what is right. Then he called Ali and ordered him to flog him; and Ali flogged him i.e. AlWalid eighty lashes. | The Chapter on Communication Talking In Prayers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The virtues of Uthman Bin Affan in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3552 | Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Whenever the Prophet ﷺ passed by my mother Um-Sulaim he used to enter her and greet her. Anas further said: Once the Prophet ﷺ way a bridegroom during his marriage with Zainab; Um Sulaim said to me; Let us give a gift to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said to her; Do it. So she prepared Haisa a sweet dish made from dates; butter and dried yoghurt and she sent it with me to him. I took it to him and he said; Put it down; and ordered me to call some men whom he named; and to invite whomever I would meet. I did what he ordered me to do; and when I returned; I found the house crowded with people and saw the Prophet ﷺ keeping his hand over the Haisa and saying over it whatever Allah wished him to say. Then he called the men in batches of ten to eat of it; and he said to them; Mention the Name of Allah; and each man should eat of the dish the nearest to him. When all of them had finished their meals; some of them left and a few remained there talking; over which I felt unhappy. Then the Prophet ﷺ went out towards the dwelling places of his wives and I too; went out after him and told him that those people had left. Then he returned and entered his dwelling place and let the curtains fall while I was in his dwelling place; and he was reciting the Verses:- O you who believe! Enter not the Prophet house until leave is given you for a meal; and then not as early as to what for its preparation. But when you are invited; enter; and when you have taken your meals; disperse without sitting for a talk. Verily such behavior annoys the Prophet; and he would be shy of asking you to go ; but Allah is not shy of telling you the Truth. 33-53 Abu Uthman said: Anas said; I served the Prophet for ten years. | The Chapter on Preparing Meals In Basic Instinct in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The giving of a present to the bridegroom in Sahih AlBukhari

She used to visit us and talk to us; and when she finished her talk; she used to say: The day of the scarf was one of our Lord wonders: Verily! He has delivered me from the land of Kufr. When she said the above verse many times; I i.e. Aisha asked her; What was the day of the scarf? She replied; Once the daughter of some of my masters went out and she was wearing a leather scarf round her neck and the leather scarf fell from her and a kite descended and picked it up; mistaking it for a piece of meat. They i.e. my masters accused me of stealing it and they tortured me to such an extent that they even looked for it in my private parts. So; while they all were around me; and I was in my great distress; suddenly the kite came over our heads and threw the scarf; and they took it. SahihMuslim-017-001-17699 | It has been reported on the authority of Ibn Umar who said: I entered the apartment of my sister Hafsa. She said: Do yoa know that your father is not going to nominate his successor? I said: He wont do that i. e. he would nominate. She said: He is going to do that. The narrator said: I took an oath that I will talk to him about the matter. I kept quiet until the next morning; still I did not talk to him; and I felt as if I were carryint; a mountain on my right hand. At last I came to him and entered his apartment. Seeing me he began to ask me about the condition of the people; and I informed him about them. Then I said to him: I heard something from the people and took an oath that I will communicate it to you. They presume that you are not going to nominate a successor. If a grazer of camels and sheep that you had appointed comes back to you leaving the cattle; you will certainly think that the cattle are lost. To look after the people is more serious and grave. The dying Caliph was moved at my words. He bent his head in a thoughtful mood for some time and raised it to me and said: God will doubtlessly protect His religion. If I do not nominate a successor I have a precedent before me ; for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not nominate his successor. And if I nominate one I have a precedent ; for Abu Bakr did nominate. The narrator Ibn Umar said: By God. when he mentioned the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr; I at once understood that he would not place anyone at a par with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and would not nominate anyone. | The Chapter on Communication In Matter Concerning The Religion in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 2 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18043 | It is narrated on the authority of Urwa Bin AlZubair who narrated from Aisha that she informed him that Fatima; daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; sent someone to Abu Bakr to demand from him her share of the legacy left by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from what Allah had bestowed upon him at Medina and Fadak and what was left from one-filth of the income annually received from Khaibar. Abu Bakr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We prophets do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity. The household of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will live on the income from these properties; but; by Allah; I will not change the charity of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the condition in which it was in his own time. I will do the same with it as the Messenger of Allah may peace be upun him himself used to do. So Abu Bakr refused to hand over anything from it to Fatima who got angry with Abu Bakr for this reason. She forsook him and did not talk to him until the end of her life. She lived for six months after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When she died; her husband. Ali Bin Abu Talib; buried her at night. He did not inform Abu Bakr about her death and offered the funeral prayer over her himself. During the lifetime of Fatima; All received special regard from the people. After she had died; he felt estrangement in the faces of the people towards him. So he sought to make peace with Abu Bakr and offer his allegiance to him. He had not yet owed allegiance to him as Caliph during these months. He sent a person to Abu Bakr requesting him to visit him unaccompanied by anyone disapproving the presence of Umar. Umar said to Abu Bakr: BY Allah; you will not visit them alone. Abu Bakr said: What will they do to me? By Allah; I will visit them. And he did pay them a visit alone. All recited Tashahhud as it is done in the beginning of a religious sermon ; then said: We recognise your moral excellence and what Allah has bestowed upon you. We do not envy the favour i. e. the Catiphate which Allah nas conferred upon you; but you have done it assumed the position of Caliph alone without consulting us ; and we thought we had a right to be consulted on account of our kinship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He continued to talk to Abu Bakr in this vein until the latter eyes welled up with tears. Then Abd Bakr spoke and said: By Allah; in Whose Hand is my life; the kinship of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is dearer to me than the kinship of my own people. As regards the dispute that has arisen between you and me about these properties; I have not deviated from the right course and I have not given up doing about them what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do. So Ali said to Abu Bakr: This aftetnoon is fixed for swearing allegiance to you. So when Abu Bakr had finished his Zuhr prayer; he ascended the pulpit and recited Tashahhud; and described the status of Ali; his delay in swearing allegiance and the excuse which lie had offered to him for this delay. After this he asked for God forgiveness. Then Ali Bin Abu Talib recited the Tashahhud. extolled the merits of Abu Bakr and said that his action was nott prompted by any jealousy of Abu Bakr on his part or his refusal to accept the high position which Allah had conferred upon him; adding: But we were of the opinion that we should have a share in the government; but the matter had been decided without taking us into confidence; and this displeased us. Hence the delay in offering allegiance. The Muslims were pleased with this explanation and they said: You have done the right thing. The Muslims were again favourably inclined to Ali since he adopted the proper course of action. | The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 16 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18128 | It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who will kill Kaab Bin Ashraf? He has maligned Allah; the Exalted; and His Messenger. Muhammad Bin Maslama said: Messenger of Allah; do you wish that I should kill him? He said: Yes. He said: Permit me to talk to him in the way I deem fit. He said: Talk as you like. So; Muhammad Bin Maslama came to Kaab and talked to him; referred to the old friendship between them and said: This man i. e. the Holy Prophet has made up his mind to collect charity from us and this has put us to a great hardship. When be heard this; Kaab said: By God; you will be put to more trouble by him. Muhammad Bin Maslama said: No doubt; now we have become his followers and we do not like to forsake him until we see what turn his affairs will take. I want that you should give me a loan. He said: What will you mortgage? He said: What do you want? He said: Pledge me your women. He said: You are the most handsome of the Arabs; should we pledge our women to you? He said: Pledge me your children. He said: The son of one of us may abuse us saying that he was pledged for two wasqs of dates; but we can pledge you cur weapons. He said: All right. Then Muhammad Bin Maslama promised that he would come to him with Harith; Abu Abs Bin Jabr and Abbad Bin Bishr. So they came and called upon him at night. He came down to them. Sufyan says that all the narrators except Amr have stated that his wife said: I hear a voice which sounds like the voice of murder. He said: It is only Muhammad Bin Maslama and his foster-brother; Abu Naila. When a gentleman is called at night even it to be pierced with a spear; he should respond to the call. Muhammad said to his companions: As he comes down; I will extend my hands towards his head and when I hold him fast; you should do your job. So when he came down and he was holding his cloak under his arm; they said to him: We sense from you a very fine smell. He said: Yes; I have with me a mistress who is the most scented of the women of Arabia. He said: Allow me to smell the scent on your head. He said: Yes; you may smell. So he caught it and smelt. Then he said: Allow me to do so once again. He then held his head fast and said to his companions: Do your job. SahihMuslim-017-001-18383 | It is narrated on the authority of Yahya Bin Yamur that the first man who discussed qadr Divine Decree in Basra was Mabad AlJuhani. I along with Humaid Bin Abdulrahman Himyari set out for pilgrimage or for Umrah and said: Should it so happen that we come into contact with one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we shall ask him about what is talked about taqdir Divine Decree. Accidentally we came across Abdullah Ibn Umar Ibn AlKhattab; while he was entering the Masjid. My companion and I surrounded him. One of us stood on his right and the other stood on his left. I expected that my companion would authorize me to speak. I therefore said: Abu Abdulrahman There have appeared some people in our land who recite the Quran and pursue knowledge. And then after talking about their affairs; added: They such people claim that there is no such thing as Divine Decree and events are not predestined. He Abdullah Ibn Umar said: When you happen to meet such people tell them that I have nothing to do with them and they have nothing to do with me. And verily they are in no way responsible for my belief. Abdullah Ibn Umar swore by Him the Lord and said : If any one of them who does not believe in the Divine Decree had with him gold equal to the bulk of the mountain Uhud and spent it in the way of Allah ; Allah would not accept it unless he affirmed his faith in Divine Decree. He further said: My father; Umar Ibn AlKhattab; told me: One day we were sitting in the company of Allah Apostle ﷺ when there appeared before us a man dressed in pure white clothes; his hair extraordinarily black. There were no signs of travel on him. None amongst us recognized him. At last he sat with the Apostle ﷺ He knelt before him placed his palms on his thighs and said: Muhammad; inform me about AlIslam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: AlIslam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and you establish prayer; pay Zakat; observe the fast of Ramadan; and perform pilgrimage to the House if you are solvent enough to bear the expense of the journey. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He Umar Ibn AlKhattab said: It amazed us that he would put the question and then he would himself verify the truth. He the inquirer said: Inform me about Iman faith. He the Holy Prophet replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah; in His angels; in His Books; in His Apostles; in the Day of Judgment; and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He the inquirer again said: Inform me about AlIhsan performance of good deeds. He the Holy Prophet said: That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him; for though you dont see Him; He; verily; sees you. He the enquirer again said: Inform me about the hour of the Doom. He the Holy Prophet remarked: One who is asked knows no more than the one who is inquiring about it. He the inquirer said: Tell me some of its indications. He the Holy Prophet said: That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and master; that you will find barefooted; destitute goat-herds vying with one another in the construction of magnificent buildings. He the narrator; Umar Ibn AlKhattab said: Then he the inquirer went on his way but I stayed with him the Holy Prophet for a long while. He then; said to me: Umar; do you know who this inquirer was? I replied: Allah and His Apostle knows best. He the Holy Prophet remarked: He was Gabriel the angel. SahihMuslim-017-001-18567 | It is narrated by Safwan Bin Muhriz that Jundab Bin Abdullah AlBajali during the stormy days of Ibn AlZubair sent a message to Asas Bin Salama: Gather some men of your family so that I should talk to them. He Asas sent a messenger to them to the members of his family. When they had assembled; Jundab came there with a yellow hooded cloak on him; He said: Talk what you were busy in talking. The talk went on by turns; till there came his Jundabs turn. He took off the hooded cloak from his head and said: I have come to you with no other intention but to narrate to you a hadith of your Apostle: Verily the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a squad of the Muslims to a tribe of the polytheists. Both the armies confronted one another. There was a man among the army of polytheists who was so dashing that ; whenever he intended to kill a man from among the Muslims; he killed him. Amongst the Muslims too was a man looking forward to an opportunity of his the polytheists unmindfulness. He the narrator said: We talked that he was Usama b; Zaid. When he raised his sword; he the soldier of the polytheists uttered: There is no god but Allah; but he Usama Bin Zaid killed him. When the messenger of the glad tidings came to the Apostle ﷺ he asked him about the events of the battle and he informed him about the man Usama and what he had done He the Prophet of Allah called for him and asked him why he had killed him. He Usama said: Messenger of Allah; he struck the Muslims and killed such and such of them. And he even named some of them. He continued : I attacked him and when he saw the sword he said: There is no god but Allah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Did you kill him? He Usama replied in the affirmative. He the Holy Prophet remarked: What would you do with: There is no god but Allah; when he would come before you on the Day of Judgment? He Usama said: Messenger of Allah; beg pardon for me from your Lord. He the Holy Prophet said: What would you do with: There is no god but Allah when he would come before you on the Day of Judgment? SahihMuslim-017-001-18817 | Husain Bin Abdulrahman reported: I was with Saeed Bin Jubair when he said: Who amongst you saw a star shooting last night? I said: It was I; then I said: I was in fact not busy in prayer; but was stung by a scorpion and that is the reason why I was awake and had a glimpse of the shooting star. He said: Then what did you do? I said: I practised charm. He said: What urged you to do this? I said: I did this according to the implied suggestion of the hadith which AlShuba narrated. He said: What did AlShuba narrate to you? I said: Buraida Bin Husaib AlAslami narrated to us. The charm is of no avail except in case of the evil influence of an eye or the sting of a scorpion. He said: He who acted according to what he had heard from the Holy Prophet acted rightly; but Ibn Abbas narrated to us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: There were brought before me the peoples and I saw an apostle and a small group of his followers along with him; another apostle and one or two persons along with him and still another apostle having no one with him. When a very large group was brought to me I conceived as if it were my Ummah. Then it was said to me: It is Moses and his people. You should look at the horizon; and I saw a very huge group. It was again said to me: See the other side of the horizon; and there was also a very huge group. It was said to me: This is your Ummah; and amongst them there were seventy thousand persons who would be made to enter Paradise without rendering any account and without suffering any torment. He then stood up and went to his house. Then the people began to talk about the people who would be admitted to Paradise without rendering any account and without suffering any torment. Some of them said: They may be those who have had the good fortune of living in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and some of them said: They be those who were born in Islam and did not associate anything with Allah. Some people mentioned other things. Thereupon came forth the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before them and he said: What was that which you were talking about? They informed him. He said: They are those persons who neither practise charm; nor ask others to practise it; nor do they take omens; and repose their trust in their Lord. Upon this Ukkasha Bin Mihsan stood up and said: Supplicate for me that He should make me one among them. Upon this he Messenger of Allah said: Thou are one among them. I have talked to him about things concerning me and him and I did not like to divulge those things about which I had to take the initiative and I do not say to my ruler: You are the best among people; after I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in Hell-Fire and his intestines will pour forth in Hell and he will go round along with them; as an ass goes round the mill stone. The denizens of Hell would gather round him and say: O; so and so; what has happened to you? Were you not enjoining us to do what was reputable and forbid us to do what was disreputable? Humaid said that Abu Rafi demonstrated before us like the demonstration made by Abu Huraira to whom Allah Messenger ﷺ had demonstrated as his mother called him placing her palms upon the eyebrows and lifting her head for calling him and said: Juraij; it is your mother; so talk to her. She found him at that time absorbed in prayer; so he said to himself : O Lord; my mother is calling me whereas I am absorbed in my prayer. He opted for prayer. She his mother went back; then came again for the second time and said: O Juraij; it is your mother calling you ; so talk to me. He said: O Allah. there is my mother also and my prayer; and he opted for prayer. She said: O Allah; this Juraij is my son. I pray to talk to him but he refuses to talk to me. O Allah; dont bring death to him unless he has seen the prostitutes; and had she invoked the curse upon him from the heart of her heart he would have been involved in some turmoil. There was a shepherd living near by his temple the temple where Juraij was engaged in prayer. It so happened that a woman of that village came there and that shepherd committed fornication with her and she became pregnant and gave birth to a child. It was said to her: Whose child is this? She said: He is the child of one who is living in this temple. So there came persons with hatchets and spades. They called Juraij. He was absorbed in prayer and he did not talk to them and they were about to demolish that temple that he saw them and then came to them and they said: Ask her this woman what she says. He smiled and then touched the head of the child and said: Who is your father? He the child said: My father is the shepherd of the sheep; and when they heard this; they said: We are prepared to rebuild with gold and silver what we have demolished from your temple. What did Allah Messenger ﷺ say to you? Thereupon she said: I am not going to disclose the secret of Allah Messenger ﷺ. When Allah Messenger ﷺ died; I said to her: I adjure you by the right that I have upon you that you should narrate to me what Allah Messenger ﷺ said to you. She said: Yes; now I can do that so listen to it. When he talked to me secretly for the first time he informed me that Gabirel was in the habit of reciting the Quran along with him once or twice every year; but this year it had been twice and so he perceived his death quite near; so fear Allah and be patient and he told me that he would be a befitting forerunner for me and so I wept as you saw me. SahihMuslim-017-001-20809 | Ibn Shihab transmitted on the authority of Ibn Mousayib that Abu Huraira said: People say that Abu Huraira transmits so many ahadith; whereas Allah is the Reckoner; and they say: How is it with Muhajirs and the Ansar that they do not narrate ahadith like him like Abu Huraira ? Abu Huraira said: I tell you that my brothers from Ansar remained busy with their lands and my brothers Muhajirs were busy in transactions in the bazars; but I always kept myself attached to Allah Messenger ﷺ with bare subsistence. I remained present in the company of the Holy Prophet ; whereas they had been absent. I retained in my mind what the Prophet said ; whereas they forgot it. One day Allah Messenger ﷺ said: He who amongst you spreads the cloth and listens to my talk and would then press it against his chest would never forget anything heard from me. So I spread my mantle and when he had concluded his talk I then pressed it against my chest and so I never forgot after that day anything that he the Holy Prophet said. And if these two verses would not have been revealed in the Book I would have never transmitted anything to anybody : Those who conceal the clear evidence and the guidance that We revealed ii. 159 tip to the last verse. | The Chapter on Alansar And Day Of Perishing in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 35 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-20835 | Abu Huraira reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying in a large gathering of the Muslims: Should I not tell you of the best clans of the Ansar? They said: Allah Messenger; kindly do this. Thereupon Allah Messenger said: That is Banu Abd AlAshhal. They said: Allah Messenger; then next? He said: Banu Najjar. They again said: Allah Messenger; then next? He said: Then of Banu Harith Bin Khazraj. They then said: Allah Messenger; then next? He said. Then of Banu Saida. They said: Allah Messenger; then next? He said: There is good in all the clans of the Ansar. It was upon this that Saad Bin Ubida stood up in annoyance and said: Are we the last of the four as Allah Messenger ﷺ has determined the order of precedence of their clans? He decided to talk with Allah Messenger ﷺ on this issue; but the people Of his tribe said to him: Be seated; are you not happy with this that Allah Messenger ﷺ has mentioned your clan as one of the four best clans and those whom he left and did not mention the order of their precedence are more than those whom he mentioned? Two persons were left and they were busy in talking and did not get out of the apartment. He the Holy Prophet then proceeded towards the apartments of his wives. He greeted with AlSalamu alaikum to every one of them and said: Members of the household; how are you? They said: Messenger of Allah; we are in good state How do you find your family? He would say: In good state. When he was free from this work of exchanging greetings he came back; and I also came back along with him. And as he reached the door; he found that the two men were still busy in talking. And when they saw him having returned; they stood up and went out; and by Allah! I do not know whether I had informed him; or there was a revelation to him to the affect that they had gone. He the Holy Prophet then came back and I also returned along with him; and as he put his step on the threshold of his door he hung a curtain between me and him; and it was on this occasion that Allah revealed this verse: O you who believe ; do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you xxxiii. 53. | The Chapter on Parents And Cloths in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 14 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-21998 | Abu Huraira reported Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: A man expressed his intention to give charity; so he came out with charity and placed it in the hand of an adulteress. In the morning; the people were talking and saying: charity was given to an adulteress last night. He the giver of Sadaqa said: 0 Allah; to Thee be the praise-to an adulteress. He then again expressed his intention to give charity; so he went out with the charity and placed it in the hand of a rich person. In the morning the people were talking and saying: Charity was given to a rich person. He the giver of charity said: 0 Allah; to Thee be the praise-to a well-to-do person. He then expressed his intention to give charity; so he went out with charity and placed it in the hand of a thief. In the morning; the people were talking and saying: Charity was given to a thief. So one of the persons said: 0 Allah; to Thee be the praise what a misfortune it is that charity has been given to the adulteress; to a rich person. to a thief! There came the angel to him and he was told: Your charity has been accepted. As for the adulteress the charity might become the means whereby she might restrain herself from fornication. The rich man might perhaps learn a lesson and spend from what Allah has given him; and the thief might thereby refrain from committing theft. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 24 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-22098 | Ali said: Whenever I narrate to you anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ believe it to be absolutely true as falling from the sky is dearer to me than that of attributing anything to him the Holy Prophet which he never said. When I talk to you of anything which is between me and you there might creep some error in it for battle is an outwitting. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: There would arise at the end of the age a people who would be young in age and immature in thought; but they would talk in such a manner as if their words are the best among the creatures. They would recite the Quran; but it would not go beyond their throats; and they would pass through the religion as an arrow goes through the prey. SahihMuslim-017-001-22117 | Abd AlMuttalib Bin Rabia Bin AlHarith reported that Rabia Bin AlHarith and Abbas Bin Abd AlMuttalib gathered together and said: By Allah; if we had sent these two young boys i. e. I and Fadl Bin Abbas to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they had spoken to him; he would have appointed them as the collectors of these sadaqat; and they would collect them and pay to the Holy Prophet as other people collectors paid and would get a share as other people got it. As they were talking about it there came Ali Bin Abu Talib and stood before them; and they made a mention of it to him. Ali Bin Abu Talib said: Dont do that; by Allah he the Holy Prophet would not do that would not accept your request. Rabia Bin Harith turned to him and said: By Allah; you are not doing so but out of jealousy that you nurse against us By Allah; you became the son-in-law of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ but we felt no jealousy against you for this great privilege of yours. Ali then said: Send them if you like. They set out and Ali lay on the bed. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the noon prayer. we went ahead of him to his apartment and stood near it till he came out. He took hold of our ears out of love and affection and then said: Give out what you have kept in your hearts. He then entered the apartment and we also went in and he the Holy Prophet was on that day in the house of Zainab Bin jahsh. We urged each of us to speak. Then one of us thus spoke: Messenger of Allah; you are the best of humanity and the best to cement the ties of blood-relations. We have reached the-marriageable age. We have come to you so that you may appoint us as collectors of these sadaqat. and we would pay you just as thin people other collectors pay you; and get our share as others get it. He the Holy Prophet kept silence for a long time till we wished that we should speak with him again ; and Zainab pointied to us from behind the curtain not to talk any more. He the Holy Prophet said; It does not become the family of Muhammad to accept sadaqat for they are the impurities of people. You call to me Mahmiya and he was in charge of khums; i. e; of the one-fifth part that goes to the treasury out of the spoils of war ; and Nawfal Bin Harith Bin Abd AlMuttalib. They both came to him; and he the Holy Prophet said to Mahmiya: Marry your daughter to this young man i. e. Fadl Bin Abbas ; and he married her to him And he said to Nawfal Bin Harith: Marry your daughter to this young man i e. As he entered the apartment he sent for me and said: Do not repeat what you have done. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10095 | Narrated AlJad Bin Abi Uthman: from Anas Bin Malik: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got married; and he went in with his wife. He said: So my mother; Umm Sulaim prepared some Hais in a Tawr a vessel made of brass and stone and said: O Anas! Take this to the Prophet ﷺ. I said to him: My mother sent this to you; and she conveys her Salam; and says: This is a little something from us for you. He said: Put it down. Then he said: Go and invite so-and-so; so-and-so; and so-and-so for me; and whomever you meet. He named some people; and said: I invited those he named; and whomever I met. - He AlJad said: I said to Anas: How many of you were there? He said: Roughly about three-hundred. - He Anas said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: O Anas! Bring me the Tawr. He said: They entered until the Suffah a shaded part of the Masjid in AlMadinah and the apartment were full. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Let groups of ten in; and let each person eat what is near him. He said: They ate until they were full. He said: A group exited; and another group entered; until all of them ate. He said: He said to me: O Anas! Remove it. He said: So I took it. I could not tell if there was more when I first put it down; or when I picked it up. He said: Groups of them sat talking in the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his wife sat facing the wall. They began to be burdensome on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to greet his women folk; then he returned; they realized that they had overburdened him; so they hastened for the gate and all of them exited. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came until he lowered the curtain; and entered while I was sitting in the apartment. He did not remain there long before he left me; and these Ayat were revealed. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to recite them to the people: O you who believe! Do not enter the Prophet house unless permission is given to you for a meal; not to wait for its preparation. But when you are invited; enter; and when you have taken your meals; dispense without sitting for a talk. The Prophet hastened but the Bedouin was slow. Men started to talk to the Bedouin and make offers for the horse; and they did not realize that the Prophet had bought it; until some of them offered more than the Prophet had bought it for. Then the Bedouin called out to the Prophet and said; Are you going to buy this horse or shall I sell it? The Prophet stood up when he heard him calling and said: Have I not bought it from you? He said: No; by Allah; I have not sold it to you; and the Prophet said I bought it from you. The people started to gaiter around the Prophet and the Bedouion as they were talking; and the Bedouin started to say: Bring a witness who will testify that you bought it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Bani Malik stay in a tent of his. Mousaddad version says: He was in the deputation of Thaqif which came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He used to visit and have a talk with us every day after the night prayer. The version of Abu Saeed says: He remained standing for such a long time talking to us that he put his weight sometimes on one leg and sometimes on the other due to his long stay. He mostly told us how his people; the Quraysh; behaved with him. He would say: We were not equal; we were weak and degraded at Mecca according to Mousaddad version. When we came over to Medina the fighting began between us; sometimes we overcome them and at other times they overcome us. One night he came late and did not come at the time he used to come. We asked him: You came late tonight? He said: I could not recite the fixed part of the Quran that I used to recite every day. I disliked to come till I had completed it. Aws said: I asked the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : How do you divide the Quran for daily recitation? SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25829 | Sufyan said according to one chain ; and Abu AlSalit said according to another chain : A man wrote to Umar Bin Abd AlAziz asking him about Divine decree. He wrote to him: To begin with; I enjoin upon you to fear Allah; to be moderate in obeying His Command; to follow the sunnah practice of His Prophet ﷺ and to abandon the novelties which the innovators introduced after his Sunnah has been established and they were saved from its trouble i.e. novelty or innovation ; so stick to Sunnah; for it is for you; if Allah chooses; a protection ; then you should know that any innovation which the people introduced was refuted long before it on the basis of some authority or there was some lesson in it; for the Sunnah was introduced by the people who were conscious of the error; slip; foolishness; and extremism in case of the sunnah was opposed. So accept for yourself what the people in the past had accepted for themselves; for they had complete knowledge of whatever they were informed; and by penetrating insight they forbade to do prohibited acts ; they had more strength than us to disclose the matters of religion ; and they were far better than us by virtue of their merits. If right guidance is what you are following; then you outstriped them to it. And if you say whatever the novelty occurred after them was introduced by those who followed the way other then theirs and disliked them. It is they who actually outstripped; and talked about it sufficiently; and gave a satisfactory explanation for it. Below them there is no place for exhaustiveness; and above them there is no place for elaborating things. Some people shortened the matter more than they had done; and thus they turned away from them ; and some people raised the matter more than they had done; and thus they exaggerated. They were on right guidance between that. You have written to me asking about confession of Divine decree; you have indeed approached a person who is well informed of it; with the will of Allah. I know what whatever novelty people have brought in; and whatever innovation people have introduced are not more manifest and more established than confession of Divine decree. The ignorant people i.e. the Arabs before Islam in pre-Islamic times have mentioned it ; they talked about it in their speeches and in their poetry. They would console themselves for what they lost; and Islam then strengthened it i.e. belief in Divine decree. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not mention it in one or two traditions; but the Muslims heard it from him; and they talked of it from him; and they talked of it during his lifetime and after his death. They did so out of belief and submission to their Lord and thinking themselves weak. There is nothing which is not surrounded by His knowledge; and not counted by His register and not destined by His decree. Despite that; it has been strongly mentioned in His Book: from it they have derived it; and from it they have and so ? they also read in it what you read; and they knew its interpretation of which you are ignorant. After that they said: All this is by writing and decreeing. Distress has been written down; and what has been destined will occur ; what Allah wills will surely happen; and what He does not will will not happen. We have no power to harm or benefit ourselves. Messenger of Allah; you are the kindest of the people and the most skilled in matchmaking. Our fathers have nothing with which to pay our dower. So appoint us collector of sadaqah zakat ; Messenger of Allah; and we shall give you what the other collectors give you; and we shall have the benefit accruing from it. Ali came to us while we were in this condition. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: No; I swear by Allah; he will not appoint any of you collector of sadaqah zakat. Rabiah said to him: This is your condition; you have gained your relationship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ by marriage; but we did not grudge you that. Ali then put his cloak on the earth and lay on it. He then said: I am the father ofHassan the chief. I swear by Allah; I shall not leave this place until your sons come with a reply to the question for which you have sent them to the Prophet ﷺ. AbdulMuttalib said: So I and AlFadl went towards the door of the apartment of the Prophet ﷺ. We found that the noon prayer in congregation had already started. So we prayed along with the people. I and AlFadl then hastened towards the door of the apartment of the Prophet ﷺ. He was staying with Zaynab; daughter of Jahsh; that day. We stood until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came. He caught my ear and the ear of AlFadl. He then said: Reveal what you conceal in your hearts. He then entered and permitted me and AlFadl to enter. So we entered and for a little while we asked each other to talk. I then talked to him; or AlFadl talked to him the narrator; Abdullah was not sure. He said: He spoke to him concerning the matter about which our fathers ordered us to ask him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent for a moment and raised his eyes towards the ceiling of the room. He took so long that we thought he would not give any reply to us. Meanwhile we saw that Zaynab was signalling to us with her hand from behind the veil; asking us not to be in a hurry; and that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was thinking about our matter. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then lowered his head and said to us: This sadaqah zakat is a dirt of the people. It is legal neither for Muhammad nor for the family of Muhammad. Call Nawfal Ibn AlHarith to me. So Nawfal Ibn AlHarith was called to him. He said: Nawfal; marry AbdulMuttalib to your daughter. So Nawfal married me to his daughter. The Prophet ﷺ then said: Call Mahmiyah Ibn Jazi to me. He was a man of Banu Zubayd; whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had appointed collector of the fifths. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Mahmiyah: Marry AlFadl to your daughter. So he married him to her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Stand up and pay the dower from the fifth so-and-so on their behalf. Abdullah Ibn AlHarith did not name it i.e. the amount of the dower. | The Chapter on Communication And Silence in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Division Of The Khumus And The Share Of His Relatives in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

MuwataMalik-017-001-34473 | Yahya related to me from Malik from his paternal uncle; Abu Suhayl Ibn Malik; that his father said; I was with Uthman Ibn Affan when the iqama was said for the prayer and I was talking to him about being assigned a definite allowance by him. I continued talking to him while he was levelling some small stones with his sandals; and then some men that he had entrusted to straighten the rows came and told him that the rows were straight. He said to me; Line up in the row; and then he said the takbir. | The Chapter on Prayers Rows And Completing The Rows in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Shortening the Prayer in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34749 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Thawr Ibn Zayd AlDili that Umar Ibn AlKhattab asked advice about a man drinking wine. Ali Ibn Abi Talib said to him; We think that you flog him for it with eighty lashes. Because when he drinks; he becomes intoxicated; and when he becomes intoxicated; he talks confusedly; and when he talks confusedly; he lies. 80 lashes is the same amount as for slandering Umar gave eighty lashes for drinking wine. | The Chapter on Food And Drinks in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik |
