SahihAlBukhari-017-001-416Narrated Ayoub : Hafsa bint Seereen said; On Id we used to forbid our girls to go out for Id prayer. A lady came and stayed at the palace of Bani Khalaf and I went to her. She said; The husband of my sister took part in twelve holy battles along with the Prophet ﷺ and my sister was with her husband in six of them. My sister said that they used to nurse the sick and treat the wounded. Once she asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If a woman has no veil; is there any harm if she does not come out on Id day ? The Prophet ﷺ said; Her companion should let her share her veil with her; and the women should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gatherings of the believers. Hafsa added; When Um-Atiya came; I went to her and asked her; Did you hear anything about so-and-so? Um-Atiya said; Yes; let my father be sacrificed for the Prophet ﷺ. And whenever she mentioned the name of the Prophet ﷺ she always used to say; Let my father be sacrificed for him. He said; Virgin mature girls staying often screened or said; Mature girls and virgins staying often screened-Aiyub is not sure as which was right and menstruating women should come out on the Id day. But the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla. And all the women should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gatherings of the believers. Hafsa said; On that I said to Um-Atiya; Also those who are menstruating? Um-Atiya replied; Yes. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4633Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: I participated in a Ghazwa along with Allah Messenger ﷺ The Prophet ﷺ met me on the way while I was riding a camel of ours used for irrigation and it had got so tired that it could hardly walk. The Prophet ﷺ asked me; What is wrong with the camel? I replied; It has got tired. So. Allah Messenger ﷺ came from behind it and rebuked it and prayed for it so it started surpassing the other camels and going ahead of them. Then he asked me; How do you find your camel now ? I replied; I find it quite well; now as it has received your blessings. He said; Will you sell it to me? I felt shy to refuse his offer though it was the only camel for irrigation we had. So; I said; Yes. He said; Sell it to me then. I sold it to him on the condition that I should keep on riding it till I reached Medina. Then I said; O Allah Apostle! I am a bridegroom; and requested him to allow me to go home. He allowed me; and I set out for Medina before the people till I reached Medina; where I met my uncle; who asked me about the camel and I informed him all about it and he blamed me for that. When I took the permission of Allah Messenger ﷺ he asked me whether I had married a virgin or a matron and I replied that I had married a matron. He said; Why hadnt you married a virgin who would have played with you; and you would have played with her? I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! My father died or was martyred and I have some young sisters; so I felt it not proper that I should marry a young girl like them who would neither teach them manners nor serve them. So; I have married a matron so that she may serve them and teach them manners. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5372Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: I was with the Prophet ﷺ in a Ghazwa Military Expedition and my camel was slow and exhausted. The Prophet came up to me and said; O Jabir. I replied; Yes? He said; What is the matter with you? I replied; My camel is slow and tired; so I am left behind. So; he got down and poked the camel with his stick and then ordered me to ride. I rode the camel and it became so fast that I had to hold it from going ahead of Allah Messenger ﷺ. He then asked me; have you got married? I replied in the affirmative. He asked; A virgin or a matron? I replied; I married a matron. The Prophet ﷺ said; Why have you not married a virgin; so that you may play with her and she may play with you? Jabir replied; I have sisters young in age so I liked to marry a matron who could collect them all and comb their hair and look after them. The Prophet ﷺ said; You will reach; so when you have arrived at home ; I advise you to associate with your wife that you may have an intelligent son. Then he asked me; Would you like to sell your camel? I replied in the affirmative and the Prophet ﷺ purchased it for one Uqiya of gold. Allah Messenger ﷺ reached before me and I reached in the morning; and when I went to the Masjid; I found him at the door of the Masjid. He asked me; Have you arrived just now? I replied in the affirmative. He said; Leave your camel and come into the Masjid and pray two rakat. I entered and offered the prayer. He told Bilal to weigh and give me one Uqiya of gold. So Bilal weighed for me fairly and I went away. The Prophet ﷺ sent for me and I thought that he would return to me my camel which I hated more than anything else. A woman came and stayed at the palace of Bani Khalaf and she narrated about her sister whose husband took part in twelve holy battles along with the Prophet ﷺ and her sister was with her husband in six out of these twelve. She the woman sister said; We used to treat the wounded; look after the patients and once I asked the Prophet; Is there any harm for any of us to stay at home if she doesnt have a veil? He said; She should cover herself with the veil of her companion and should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gathering of the Muslims. When Um Atiya came I asked her whether she had heard it from the Prophet. She replied; Yes. May my father be sacrificed for him the Prophet ! Whenever she mentioned the Prophet ﷺ she used to say; May my father be sacrificed for him I have heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; The unmarried young virgins and the mature girl who stay often screened or the young unmarried virgins who often stay screened and the menstruating women should come out and participate in the good deeds as well as the religious gathering of the faithful believers but the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla praying place. Hafsa asked Um Atiya surprisingly; Do you say the menstruating women? We asked her; Have you heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying so and so about women ? She replied in the affirmative and said; Let my father be sacrificed for him. He told us that unmarried mature virgins who stay often screened or unmarried young virgins and mature girls who stay often screened should come out and take part in the good deeds and in the religious gatherings of the believers. But the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla praying place. I asked her; The menstruating women? SahihMuslim-017-001-18343Jabir Bin Abdullah Allah be pleased with them reported: I went on an expedition with Allah Messenger ﷺ. He overtook me and I was on a water-carrying camel who had grown tired and did not walk trot. He the Holy Prophet said to me: What is the matter with your camel? I said: It is sick. He the Holy Prophet stepped behind and drove it and prayed for it; and then it always moved ahead of other camels. He then said: How do you find your camel? I said: It is; by the grace of your prayer; all right. He said: Would you sell this camel to me? I felt shy to say him; No as we had no other camel for carrying water; but later on I said: Yes; and to I sold it to him on the condition that I would be permitted to ride it until I reached Madina. I said to him: Allah Messenger; I am newly married; so I asked his permission to go ahead of the caravan. He permitted me; and I reached Medina well in advance of other people; until I reached my destination. There my maternal uncle met me and asked me about the camel; and I told him what I had done with regard to it. He reproved me in this connection. He Jabir said: When I asked his permission to go ahead of the caravan Allah Messenger ﷺ inquired of me whether I had married a virgin or a non-virgin. I said to him: I have married a non-virgin. He said: Why did you not marry a virgin who would have played with you and you would have played with her? I said to him: Allah Messenger; my father died or he fell as a martyr ; and I have small sisters to look after ; so I did not like the idea that I should marry a woman who is like them and thus be not able to teach them manners and look after them properly. So I have married a non-virgin so that she should be able to look after them and teach them manners; When Allah Messenger ﷺ came to Medina; I went to him in the morning with the camel.
