Um Haram asked; What makes you smile; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He said; Some of my followers were presented before me in my dream as fighters in Allah Cause; sailing in the middle of the seas like kings on the thrones or like kings sitting on their thrones. The narrator Ishaq is not sure as to which expression was correct. Um Haram added; I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Invoke Allah; to make me one of them; So Allah Messenger ﷺ invoked Allah for her and then laid his head down and slept. Then he woke up smiling again. Um Haram added : I said; What makes you smile; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He said; Some people of my followers were presented before me in a dream as fighters in Allah Cause. He said the same as he had said before. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Invoke Allah to make me from them. He said; You are among the first ones. Then Um Haram sailed over the sea during the Caliphate of Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan; and she fell down from her riding animal after coming ashore; and died. He said; Some people of my followers were displayed before me as warriors fighting for Allah Cause and sailing over this sea; kings on thrones; or said; like kings on thrones. The narrator; Ishaq is in doubt about it. I Um Haram said; O Allah Apostle! Invoke Allah that He may make me one of them. He invoked Allah for her and then lay his head and slept again and then woke up smiling. I asked; What makes you laugh; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He said; Some people of my followers were displayed before me as warriors fighting for Allah Cause and sailing over this sea; kings on the thrones; or said; like kings on the thrones. I Um Haram said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Invoke Allah that He may make me one of them. He said; You will be amongst the first ones. It is said that Um Haram sailed over the sea at the time of Muawiya; and on coming out of the sea; she fell down from her riding animal and died. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3920		Narrated Imran Bin Hosain: That they were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. They travelled the whole night; and when dawn approached; they took a rest and sleep overwhelmed them till the sun rose high in the sky. The first to get up was Abu Bakr. Allah Messenger ﷺ s used not to be awakened from his sleep; but he would wake up by himself. Umar woke up and then Abu Bakr sat by the side of the Prophet head and started saying: Allahu-Akbar raising his voice till the Prophet ﷺ woke up; and after traveling for a while he dismounted and led us in the morning prayer. A man amongst the people failed to join us in the prayer. When the Prophet ﷺ had finished the prayer; he asked the man ; O so-and-so! What prevented you from offering the prayer with us? He replied; I am Junub; Alllah Apostle ordered him to perform Tayammam with clean earth. The man then offered the prayer. Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered me and a few others to go ahead of him. We had become very thirsty. While we were on our way looking for water ; we came across a lady riding an animal ; hanging her legs between two water-skins. We asked her; Where can we get water? She replied; Oh ! There is no water. We asked; how far is your house from the water? She replied; A distance of a day and a night travel. We said; Come on to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; She asked; What is Allah Messenger ﷺ ? So we brought her to Allah Messenger ﷺ against her will; and she told him what she had told us before and added that she was the mother of orphans. So the Prophet ﷺ ordered that her two water-skins be brought and he rubbed the mouths of the water-skins. As we were thirsty; we drank till we quenched our thirst and we were forty men. We also filled all our waterskins and other utensils with water; but we did not water the camels. The waterskin was so full that it was almost about to burst. The Prophet ﷺ then said; Bring what foodstuff you have. So some dates and pieces of bread were collected for the lady; and when she went to her people; she said; I have met either the greatest magician or a prophet as the people claim. So Allah guided the people of that village through that lady. She embraced Islam and they all embraced Islam. Allah Messenger ﷺ invoked Allah for her and slept again and woke up smiling. Once again Umm Haram asked; What makes you smile; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He replied; Some of my followers were presented to me as fighters in Allah Cause; repeating the same dream. Umm Haram said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Invoke Allah that He makes me one of them. He said; You are amongst the first ones. It happened that she sailed on the sea during the Caliphate of Muawiya Bin Abi Sufyan; and after she disembarked; she fell down from her riding animal and died. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4550		Narrated Anas: Allah Messenger ﷺ went to the daughter of Milhan and reclined there and slept and then woke up smiling. She asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What makes you smile? He replied; I dreamt that some people amongst my followers were sailing on the green sea in Allah Cause; resembling kings on thrones. She said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! She said; Invoke Allah to make me one of them. He replied; You will be amongst the first group of them; you will not be amongst the last. Later on she married Ubada Bin AlSamit and then she sailed on the sea with bint Qaraza; Muawiya wife for Jihad. On her return; she mounted her riding animal; which threw her down breaking her neck; and she died on falling down. When she returned; an animal was presented to her to ride; but she fell down and her neck was broken. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4580		Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: That he proceeded in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ towards Najd to participate in a Ghazwa. Holybattle When Allah Messenger ﷺ returned; he too returned with him. Midday came upon them while they were in a valley having many thorny trees. Allah Messenger ﷺ and the people dismounted and dispersed to rest in the shade of the trees. Allah Messenger ﷺ rested under a tree and hung his sword on it. We all took a nap and suddenly we heard Allah Messenger ﷺ calling us. We woke up to see a bedouin with him. The Prophet ﷺ said; This bedouin took out my sword while I was sleeping and when I woke up; I found the unsheathed sword in his hand and he challenged me saying; Who will save you from me? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-542		Narrated Ibn Juraij from Nafi: Abdullah Bin Umar said; Once Allah Messenger ﷺ was busy at the time of the Isha ; so the prayer was delayed so much so that we slept and woke up and slept and woke up again. The Prophet ﷺ came out and said; None amongst the dwellers of the earth but you have been waiting for the prayer. Ibn Umar did not find any harm in praying it earlier or in delaying it unless he was afraid that sleep might overwhelm him and he might miss the prayer; and sometimes he used to sleep before the Isha prayer. Ibn Juraij said; I said to Ata; I heard Ibn Abbas saying: Once Allah Messenger ﷺ delayed the Isha prayer to such an extent that the people slept and got up and slept again and got up again. Then Umar Bin AlKhattab I; stood up and reminded the Prophet ﷺ I of the prayer. Ata said; Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet came out as if I was looking at him at this time; and water was trickling from his head and he was putting his hand on his head and then said; Hadnt I thought it hard for my followers; I would have ordered them to pray Isha prayer at this time. I asked Ata for further information; how the Prophet had kept his hand on his head as he was told by Ibn Abbas. Ata separated his fingers slightly and put their tips on the side of the head; brought the fingers downwards approximating them till the thumb touched the lobe of the ear at the side of the temple and the beard on the face. He neither slowed nor hurried in this action but he acted like that. The Prophet ﷺ said: Hadnt I thought it hard for my followers I would have ordered them to pray at this time. SahihMuslim-017-001-17914		It has been reported on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit Umm Haram daughter of Milhan who was the sister of his foster-mother or his father aunt. She was the wife of Ubada Bin Samit; One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid her a visit. She entertained him with food and then sat down to rub his head. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dozed off and when he woke up after a while ; he was laughing. She asked: What made you laugh. Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people from my Umma were presented to me who were fighters in the way of Allah and were sailing in this sea. Gliding smoothly on the water ; they appeared to be kings or like kings sitting on thrones the narrator has a doubt about the actual expression used by the Holy Prophet. She said: Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah that He may include me among these warriors. He prayed for her. Then he placed his head down and dozed off again. He woke up laughing; as before. She said I said: Messenger of Allah; what makes you laugh? He replied: A people from my Umma were presented to me. They were fighters in Allah way. He described them in the same words as he had described the first warriors. She said: Messenger of Allah; pray to God that He may include me among these warriors. He said: You are among the first ones. Umm Haram daughter of Milhan sailed in the aea in the time of Muawiya. SahihMuslim-017-001-17915		It has been narrated on the authority of Umm Haram and she was the aunt of Anas who said: The Prophet ﷺ came to us one day and had a nap in our house. When he woke up; he was laughing. I said: Messenger of Allah; what made you laugh? He said: I saw a people from my followers sailing on the surface of the sea looking like kings sitting on their thrones. I said: Pray to Allah that He may include me among them. He said: You will be among them. He had a second nap; woke up and was laughing. I asked him the reason for his laughter. He gave the same reply. I said: Pray to Allah that He may include me among them. He said: You are among the first ones. Anas said: Ubada Bin Samit married her. He joined a naval expedition and took her along with him. When she returned; a mule was brought for her. While mounting it she fell down; broke her neck and died. SahihMuslim-017-001-22225		Abu Bakr he is Abu Bakr Bin Abdulrahman Bin Harith reported: I heard Abu Huraira Allah be pleased with him narrating that he who is overtaken by dawn in a state of seminal emission should not observe fast. I made a mention of it to Abdulrahman Bin Harith i. e. to his father but he denied it. Abdulrahman went and I also went along with him till we came toAisha and Umm Salamah Allah be pleased with both of them and Abdulrahman asked them about it. Both of them said: At times it so happened that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up in the morning in a state of junub but without seminal emission in a dream and observed fast He the narrator said: We then proceeded till we went to Marwan and Abdulrahman made a mention of it to him. Upon this Marwan said: I stress upon you with an oath that you better go to Abu Huraira and refer to him what is said about it. So we came to Abu Huraira and Abu Bakr had been with us throughout and Abdulrahman made a mention of it to him; whereupon Abu Huraira said: Did they the two wives of the Holy Prophet tell you this? He replied: Yes Upon this Abu Huraira said: They have better knowledge. Abu Huraira then attributed that what was said about it to Fadl Bin Abbas and said: I heard it from Fadl and not from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Abu Huraira then retracted from what he used to say about it. Ibn Juraij one of the narrators reported: I asked Abd AlMalik; if they the two wives said made the statement in regard to Ramadan; whereupon he said: It was so; and he the Holy Prophet woke up in the morning in a state of junub which was not due to the wet dream and then observed fast. He said: I heard Ibn Abbas saying: The Apostle of Allah ﷺ one night delayed the Isya prayer till the people went to sleep. They woke up and again went to sleep and again woke up. Then Umar Bin AlKhattab stood up and said loudly Prayer. Ata further reported that Ibn Abbas said: The Apostle of Allah ﷺ came out; and as if I am still seeing him with water trickling from his head; and with his hand placed on one side of the head; and he said: Were it not hard for my Ummah; I would have ordered them to observe this prayer like this i. e. at late hours. I inquired from Ata how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his hand upon his head as Ibn Abbas had informed. So Ata spread his fingers a little and then placed the ends of his fingers on the side of his head. He then moved them like this over his head till the thumb touched that part of the ear which is near the face and then it went to the earlock and the part of the heard. It the bind neither held nor caught anything but this is how it moved oil. I said to Ata: Was it mentioned to you by Ibn Abbas how long did the Apostle ﷺ delay it the prayer during that eight? He said: I do not know I cannot give you the exact time. Ali said: I love that I should say prayer; whether as an Imam or alone at delayed hours as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that night; but if It is hard upon you in your individual capacity or upon people in the congregation and you are their Imam; then say prayer Isha at the middle hours neither too early nor too late. SahihMuslim-017-001-24552		Imran Bin Hosain reported: I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a journey. We travelled the whole of the night; and when it was about to dawn; we got down for rest; and were overpowered by sleep till the sun shone. Abu Bakr was the first to awake amongst us. and we did not awake the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from his sleep allowing him to wake up of his own accord. It was Umar who then woke up. He stood by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and recited takbir in a loud voice till the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up. When he lifted his head; he saw that the sun had arisen; he then said: Proceed on. He travelled along with us till the sun shone brightly. He came down from his camel and led us in the morning prayer. A person; however; remained away from the people and did not say; prayer along with us. After having completed the prayer; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: O; so and so; what prevented you from observing prayer with us? He said: Apostle of Allah! I was not in a state of purity. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him arid lie performed Tayammum with dust and said prayer. He then urged me to go ahead immediately along with other riders to find out water; for we felt very thirsty. We were traveling when we came across a woman who was sitting on a camel with her feet hanging over two leathern water bags. We said to her: How far is water available? She; said: Far; very far; very far. You cannot get water. We again said: How much distance is there between the residence of your family and water? She said: It is a day and night journey. We said to her: You go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: Who is the Messenger of Allah? We somehow or the other managed to bring her to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he asked about her; and she informed him as she had informed us that she was a widow having orphan children. He ordered that her camel should be made to kneal down and he gargled in the opening of her leathern water-bag. The camel was then raised up and we forty thirsty men drank water till we were completely satiated; and we filled up all leathern water-bags and water-skins that we had with us and we washed our companions; but we did not make any camel drink; and the leathern water-bags were about to burst on account of excess of water. He then said: Bring whatever you have with you. So we collected the bits of estable things and dates and packed them up in a bundle; and said to her: Take it away. This is meant for your children; and know that we have not its any way done any loss to your water. W hen she came to her family she said: I have met the greatest magician amongst human beings; or he is an apostle; as he claims to be; and she then narrated what had happened and Allah guided aright those people through that woman. SahihMuslim-017-001-24553		Imran Bin Hosain reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a journey and we travelled throughout the night till at the end; just before dawn; we lay down for rest ; and nothing is sweeter for a traveller than this and none awakened us but the heat of the sun; and the rest of the hadith is the same as mentioned above except this additien: When Umar Bin AlKhattab woke up; he saw what had happened to the people. And he was a man having a big belly and strongly built; he recited takbir in a loud voice till the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up by the loudness of his voice in takbir. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up; the people told him what had happened. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There is no harm; you better proceed further; and the rest of the hadith was narrated. She said: What is making you smile; O Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people of my Ummah were shown to me; fighting in the cause of Allah and riding across the sea like kings on thrones. I said: O Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah to make me one of them. So the Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah to make me one of them. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for her then he slept again. One of narrators AlHarith; said in his narration : He slept then he woke up smiling. I said to him: What is making you smile; O Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people of my Ummah were shown to me; fighting in the cause of Allah and riding across the sea like kings on thrones; as he had said the first time. I said: O Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah to make me one of them. He said: You will be one of the first. And she traveled by sea at the time of Muawiyah; then she fell from her mount when she came out of the sea and died. SunanAlNasai-017-001-15561		It was narrated from Ali Bin Husain; from his father; that: Hs grandfather Ali Bin Abi Talib said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to Fatimah and I; one night and woke us up to pray; then he went back to his house and prayed for part of the night; and he did not hear any movement from us. He came back to us and woke us up; and said: Get up and pray. I sat up; rubbing my eyes; and said: By Allah; we will only pray that which has decreed for us; our souls are in the hand of Allah SWT and if He wants to make us get up; He will make us get up. She replied: You asked me about a thing which no one asked me before. When he woke up at night; he uttered: Allah is Most Great ten times; and uttered Praise be to Allah ten times; and said Glory be to Allah and I begin with His praise ten times; and said: Glory be to the King; the Most Holy ten times; and asked Allah pardon ten times; and said: There is no god but Allah ten times; and then said: O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee from the strait of the Day of resurrection; ten times. He then began the prayer.
