SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1378Narrated Abu AlMinhal: When Ibn Ziyad and Marwan were in Sham and Ibn AlZubair took over the authority in Mecca and Qurra the Kharijites revolted in Basra; I went out with my father to Abu Barza AlAslami till we entered upon him in his house while he was sitting in the shade of a room built of cane. So we sat with him and my father started talking to him saying; O Abu Barza! Dont you see in what dilemma the people has fallen? The first thing heard him saying I seek reward from Allah for myself because of being angry and scornful at the Quraish tribe. O you Arabs! You know very well that you were in misery and were few in number and misguided; and that Allah has brought you out of all that with Islam and with Muhammad till He brought you to this state of prosperity and happiness which you see now; and it is this worldly wealth and pleasures which has caused mischief to appear among you. The one who is in Sham i.e.; Marwan ; by Allah; is not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain: and those who are among you; by Allah; are not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain; and that one who is in Mecca i.e.; Ibn AlZubair by Allah; is not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain. The Chapter on Love And Emotions And Faith in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Changing the words in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2128Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; The thing I am afraid of most for your sake; is the worldly blessings which Allah will bring forth to you. It was said; What are the blessings of this world? The Prophet ﷺ said; The pleasures of the world. A man said; Can the good bring forth evil? The Prophet ﷺ kept quiet for a while till we thought that he was being inspired divinely. Then he started removing the sweat from his forehead and said; Where is the questioner? That man said; I am present. Abu Saeed added: We thanked the man when the result of his question was such. The Prophet ﷺ said; Good never brings forth but good. This wealth of the world is like green and sweet fruit ; and all the vegetation which grows on the bank of a stream either kills or nearly kills the animal that eats too much of it; except the animal that eats the Khadira a kind of vegetation. Such an animal eats till its stomach is full and then it faces the sun and starts ruminating and then it passes out dung and urine and goes to eat again. This worldly wealth is like sweet fruit ; and if a person earns it the wealth in a legal way and spends it properly; then it is an excellent helper; and whoever earns it in an illegal way; he will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied. The Chapter on Wealth And Satisfaction in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The warning regarding worldly pleasures amusements and competing against each other in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3767Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Allah Messenger ﷺ sat on the pulpit and said; Allah has given one of His Slaves the choice of receiving the splendor and luxury of the worldly life whatever he likes or to accept the good of the Hereafter which is with Allah. So he has chosen that good which is with Allah. On that Abu Bakr wept and said; Our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you. We became astonished at this. The people said; Look at this old man! Allah Messenger ﷺ talks about a Slave of Allah to whom He has given the option to choose either the splendor of this worldly life or the good which is with Him; while he says. our fathers and mothers be sacrifice i for you. But it was Allah Messenger ﷺ who had been given option; and Abu Bakr knew it better than we. Allah Messenger ﷺ added; No doubt; I am indebted to Abu Bakr more than to anybody else regarding both his companionship and his wealth. And if I had to take a Khalil from my followers; I would certainly have taken Abu Bakr; but the fraternity of Islam is. sufficient. Let no door i.e. Khoukha of the Masjid remain open; except the door of Abu Bakr. The Chapter on Life And Death And Wealth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The emigration of the Prophet to AlMadina in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4351Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Your ordinary fire is one of 70 parts of the Hell Fire. Someone asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ This ordinary fire would have been sufficient to torture the unbelievers ; Allah Apostle said; The Hell Fire has 69 parts more than the ordinary worldly fire; each part is as hot as this worldly fire. The Chapter on Admittance To Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The description of the Hell Fire and the fact that it has already been created in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4515Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Allah Messenger ﷺ ascended the pulpit and said; Nothing worries me as to what will happen to you after me; except the temptation of worldly blessings which will be conferred on you. Then he mentioned the worldly pleasures. He started with the one i.e. the blessings and took up the other i.e. the pleasures. A man got up saying; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Can the good bring about evil? The Prophet ﷺ remained silent and we thought that he was being inspired divinely; so all the people kept silent with awe. Then the Prophet ﷺ wiped the sweat off his face and asked; Where is the present questioner? Do you think wealth is good? he repeated thrice; adding; No doubt; good produces nothing but good. Indeed it is like what grows on the banks of a stream which either kills or nearly kills the grazing animals because of gluttony except the vegetation-eating animal which eats till both its flanks are full i.e. till it gets satisfied and then stands in the sun and defecates and urinates and again starts grazing. This worldly property is sweet vegetation. How excellent the wealth of the Muslim is; if it is collected through legal means and is spent in Allah Cause and on orphans; poor people and travelers. But he who does not take it legally is like an eater who is never satisfied and his wealth will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection. The Chapter on Wealth And Satisfaction in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Superiority of spending in Allah Cause in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5910Narrated AlAhnaf Bin Qais: While I was sitting with some people from Quraish; a man with very rough hair; clothes; and appearance came and stood in front of us; greeted us and said; Inform those who hoard wealth; that a stone will be heated in the Hell-fire and will be put on the nipples of their breasts till it comes out from the bones of their shoulders and then put on the bones of their shoulders till it comes through the nipples of their breasts the stone will be moving and hitting. After saying that; the person retreated and sat by the side of the pillar; I followed him and sat beside him; and I did not know who he was. I said to him; I think the people disliked what you had said. He said; These people do not understand anything; although my friend told me. I asked; Who is your friend? He said; The Prophet ﷺ said to me ; O Abu Dhar! Do you see the mountain of Uhud? And on that I Abu Dhar started looking towards the sun to judge how much remained of the day as I thought that Allah Messenger ﷺ wanted to send me to do something for him and I said; Yes! He said; I do not love to have gold equal to the mountain of Uhud unless I spend it all in Allah cause except three Dinars pounds. These people do not understand and collect worldly wealth. No; by Allah; Neither I ask them for worldly benefits nor am I in need of their religious advice till I meet Allah; The Honorable; The Majestic. The Chapter on Standing For Prayers And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on A property from which the Zakat is paid is not AlKanz hoardedmoney in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-21942Ahnaf Bin Qais reported: I came to Medina and when I was in the company of the grandees of Quraish a man with a crude body and an uncouth face wearing coarse clothes came there. He stood up before them and said: Give glad tidings to those whom who amass riches of the stones which would be heated in the Fire of Hell; and would be placed at the tick of the chest till it would project from the shoulder bone and would he put on the shoulder bone till it would project from the tick of his chest; and it this stone would continue passing and repassing from one side to the other. He the narrator said: Then people hung their heads and I saw none among them giving any answer. He then returned and I followed him till he sat near a pillar. I said: I find that these people disliked what you said to them and they do not understand anything. My friend Ab AlQasim Muhammad may peace he upon him called me and I responded to him; and he said: Do you see Uhud? I saw the sun shining on me and I thought that he would send me on an errand for him. So I said: I see it. Upon this he said: Nothing would delight me more than this that I should have gold like it equal to the bulk of Uhud ; and I should spend it all except three dinars. How sad it is that they hoard worldly riches; and they know nothing. I said: What about you and your brothers Quraish? You do not go to thein for any need and do not accept anything from them. He said: By Allah; I neither beg anything from them from worldly goods ; nor do I ask them anything about religion till I meet my Allah and His Messenger. The Chapter on Wealth And Debit in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 10 in Sahih Muslim

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9754Amr Bin Shuaib narrated from his grandfather Abdullah Bin Amr; that the Messenger of Allah s.a.w said: There are two traits; whoever has them in him; Allah writes him down as grateful and patient. And whoever does not have them; Allah does not write him down as grateful; nor patient. Whoever looks to one above him for his religion; and follows him in it; and whoever looks to one who is below him in worldly matters; and praises Allah for the blessings He has favored the one who is above him with; then Allah writes him down as grateful and patient. And whoever looks to one who is below him for his religion; and looks to one who is above him for worldly matters; and grieves over what missed him of it; Allah does not write him down as grateful nor as patient. The Prophet ﷺ said: He will have not reward. The people thought it terrible; and they said to the man: Go back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; for you might not have made him understand well. He; therefore; went and again asked: Messenger of Allah; a man wishes to take part in jihad in Allah path desiring some worldly advantage? He replied: There is no reward for him.
