#Amir Bin Sharahil Shabi Shab Hamdan reported that he asked Fatima; daughter of Qais and sister of AlDahhak Bin Qais and she was the first amongst the emigrant women: Narrate to me a hadith which you had heard directly from Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and there is no extra link in between them. She said: Very well; if you like; I am prepared to do that; and he said to her: Well; do It and narrate that to me. She said: I married the son of Mughira and he was a chosen young man of Quraish at that time; but he fell as a martyr in the first Jihad fighting on the side of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL. When I became a widow; Abdulrahman Bin Auf; one amongst the group of the Companions of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ; sent me the proposal of marriage. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL also sent me such a message for his freed slave Usama Bin Zaid. And it had been conveyed to me that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had said about Usama : He who loves me should also love Usama. When Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL talked to me about this matter ; I said: My affairs are in your hand. You may marry me to anyone whom you like. He said: You better shift now to the house of Umm Sharik; and Umm Sharik was a rich lady from amongst the Ansar. She spent generously for the cause of Allah and entertained guests very hospitably. I said: Well; I will do as you like. He said: Do not do that for Umm Sharik is a woman who is very frequently visited by guests and I do not like that your head may be uncovered or the cloth may be removed from your shank and the strangers may catch sight of them which you abhor. You better shift to the house of your cousin Abdullah Bin Amr Bin Umm Maktum and he is a person of the Bani Fihr branch of the Quraish; and he belonged to that tribe to which Fatima belonged. So I shifted to that house; and when my period of waiting was over; I heard the voice of an announcer making an announcement that the prayer would be observed in the Masjid where congregational prayer is observed. So I set out towards that Masjid and observed prayer along with Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and I was in the row of the women which was near the row of men. When Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had finished his prayer; he sat on the pulpit smiling and said: Every worshipper should keep sitting at his place. He then said: Do you know why I had asked you to assemble? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: By Allah. I have not made you assemble for exhortation or for a warning; but I have detained you here; for Tamim Dari; a Christian; who came and accepted Islam; told me something; which agrees with what I was telling; you about the Dajjal. He narrated to me that he had sailed in a ship along with thirty men of Bani Lakhm and Bani Judham and had been tossed by waves in the ocean for a month. Then these waves took them near the land within the ocean island at the time of sunset. They sat in a small side-boat and entered that island. There was a beast with long thick hair and because of these they could not distinguish his face from his back. They said: Woe to you; who can you be? Thereupon it said: I am AlJassasa. They said: What is AlJassasa? And it said: O people; go to this person in the monastery as he is very much eager to know about you. He the narrator said: When it named a person for us we were afraid of it lest it should be a devil. Then we hurriedly went on till we came to that monastery and found a well-built person there with his hands tied to his neck and having iron shackles between his two legs up to the ankles. We said: Woe be upon thee; who are you? And he said: You would soon come to know about me. but tell me who are you. We said: We are people from Arabia and we embarked upon a boat but the sea-waves had been driving us for one month and they brought as near this island. We got Into the side-boats and entered this island and here a beast met us with profusely thick hair and because of the thickness of his hair his face could not be distinguished from his back. We said: Woe be to thee; who are you? It said: I am AlJassasa. We said: What is AlJassasa? And it said: You go to this very person in the monastery for he is eagerly waiting for you to know about you. So we came to you in hot haste fearing that that might be the Devil. He that chained person said: Tell me about the date-palm trees of Baisan. We said: About what aspect of theirs do you seek information? He said: I ask you whether these trees bear fruit or not. We said: yes. Thereupon he said: I think these would not bear fruits. He said: Inform me about the lake of Tabariya? We said: Which aspect of it do you want to know? He said: Is there water in it? They said: There is abundance of water in it. Thereupon he said: I think it would soon become dry. He again said: Inform me about the spring of Zughar. They said: Which aspect of it you want to know? He the chained person said: Is there water in it and does it irrigate the land ? We said to him: Yes; there is abundance of water in it and the inhabitants of Medina irrigate land with the help of it; He said: Inform me about the unlettered Prophet; what has he done? We said: He has come out from Mecca and has settled In Yathrib Medina. He said: Do the Arabs fight against him? We said: Yes. He said: How did he deal with them? We informed him that he had overcome those in his neighbourhood and they had submitted themselves before him. Thereupon he said to us: Has it actually happened? We said: Yes. Thereupon he said: If it is so that is better for them that they should show obedience to him. I am going to tell you about myself and I am Dajjal and would be soon permitted to get out and so I shall get out and travel in the land; and will not spare any town where I would not stay for forty nights except Mecca and Medina as these two places are prohibited areas for me and I would not make an attempt to enter any one of these two. An angel with a sword in his hand would confront me and would bar my way and there would be angels to guard every passage leading to it; then Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL striking the pulpit with the help of the end of his staff said: This implies Taiba meaning Medina. Have I not; told you an account of the Dajjal like this? The people said: Yes; and this account narrated by Tamim Dari was liked by me for it corroborates the account which I gave to you in regard to him Dajjal at Medina and Mecca. Behold he Dajjal is in the Syrian sea Mediterranean or the Yemen sea Arabian sea. Nay; on the contrary; he is in the east; he is in the east; he is in the east; and he pointed with his hand towards the east. I Fatima bint Qais said: I preserved it in my mind this narration from Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL. SahihMuslim-017-001-19253

#Kharasha Bin Hurr reported: I was sitting in a circle in the Masjid of Medina and there was an old man; quite handsome. He was Abdullah Bin Salim. He was telling good things to them to the people sitting in that company. As he stood up to depart the people said: He who is desirous of looking at a person from amongst the people of Paradise should see him. I said: By Allah; I will follow him; and would try to know his residence. So I followed him and he walked on until he reached the outskirts of Medina. He then entered his house. I sought permission from him to get in; and he granted me the permission; saying: My nephew; what is the need that has brought you here ? I said to him: As you stood up; I heard people say about you: He who is desirous of seeing a person from among the people of Paradise should look at him. So I became desirous of accompanying you. He Abdullah Bin Salim said: It is Allah Who knows best about the people of Paradise. I would; however; narrate to you as to why they said like it. The story is that while I was asleep one night there came to me a person in the dream who asked me to stand up. So I stood up and he caught hold of my hand and I walked along with him; and; lo; I found some paths on my left and I was about to set out upon them. Thereupon he said to me Do not set yourself on them for these are the paths of the leftists denizens of Hell-fire. Then there were paths leading to the right side; whereupon he said: Set yourself on these paths. We came across a hill and he said to me: Climb up; and I attempted to climb up that I fell upon my buttocks. I made several attempts but failed to succeed. He led until he came to a pillar so high that its upper end touched the sky and its base was in the earth. And there was a handhold at its upper end. He said to me Climb over it. I said: How can I climb upon it; as its upper end touches the sky? He cought hold of my hand and pushed me up and I found myself suspended with the handhold. He then struck the pillar and it fell down; but I remained attached to that handhold until it was morning and the dream was thus over. I came to Allah Apostle SAWSYMBOL and narrated it to him. He said: So far as the paths which you saw on your left are concerned; these are paths of the leftists denizens of Hell and the paths which you saw on your right; these are the paths of the rightists the dwellers of Paradise and the mountain represents the destination of the martyrs which you would not be able to attain. The pillar implies the pillar of Islam. and so far as the handhold is concerned; it implies the handhold of Islam; and you would hold to it fastly until you would meet death. #Narrated Aisha: When there was said about me what was said which I myself was unaware of; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL got up and addressed the people. He recited Tashah-hud; and after glorifying and praising Allah as He deserved; he said; To proceed: O people Give me your opinion regarding those people who made a forged story against my wife. By Allah; I do not know anything bad about her. By Allah; they accused her of being with a man about whom I have never known anything bad; and he never entered my house unless I was present there; and whenever I went on a journey; he went with me. Saad Bin Muadh got up and said; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL Allow me to chop their heads off. Then a man from the AlKhazraj Saad Bin Ubada to whom the mother of the poet Hassan Bin Thabit was a relative; got up and said to Saad Bin Muadh ; You have told a lie! By Allah; if those persons were from the Aus Tribe; you would not like to chop their heads off. It was probable that some evil would take place between the Aus and the Khazraj in the Masjid; and I was unaware of all that. In the evening of that day; I went out for some of my needs i.e. to relieve myself ; and Um Mistah was accompanying me. On our return; Um Mistah stumbled and said; Let Mistah. be ruined I said to her; O mother Why do you abuse your Son On that Um Mistah became silent for a while; and stumbling again; she said; Let Mistah be ruined I said to her; Why do you abuse your son? She stumbled for the third time and said; Let Mistah be ruined whereupon I rebuked her for that. She said; By Allah; I do not abuse him except because of you. I asked her; Concerning what of my affairs? So she disclosed the whole story to me. I said; Has this really happened? She replied; Yes; by Allah. I returned to my house; astonished and distressed that I did not know for what purpose I had gone out. Then I became sick fever and said to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL Send me to my father house. So he sent a slave with me; and when I entered the house; I found Um Rum-an my mother downstairs while my father Abu Bakr was reciting something upstairs. My mother asked; What has brought you; O my daughter? I informed her and mentioned to her the whole story; but she did not feel it as I did. She said; O my daughter! Take it easy; for there is never a charming lady loved by her husband who has other wives but that they feel jealous of her and speak badly of her. But she did not feel the news as I did. I asked her ; Does my father know about it? She said; yes I asked; Does Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL know about it too? She said; Yes; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL does too. So the tears filled my eyes and I wept. Abu Bakr; who was reading upstairs heard my voice and came down and asked my mother; What is the matter with her? She said; She has heard what has been said about her as regards the story of Allfk. On that Abu Bakr wept and said; I beseech you by Allah; O my daughter; to go back to your home. I went back to my home and Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had come to my house and asked my maid-servant about me my character. The maid-servant said; By Allah; I do not know of any defect in her character except that she sleeps and let the sheep enter her house and eat her dough. On that; some of the Prophet companions spoke harshly to her and said; Tell the truth to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL. Finally they told her of the affair of the slander. She said; Subhan Allah! By Allah; I know nothing against her except what goldsmith knows about a piece of pure gold. Then this news reached the man who was accused; and he said; Subhan Allah! By Allah; I have never uncovered the private parts of any woman. Later that man was martyred in Allah Cause. Next morning my parents came to pay me a visit and they stayed with me till Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL came to me after he had offered the Asr prayer. He came to me while my parents were sitting around me on my right and my left. He praised and glorified Allah and said; Now then O Aisha! If you have committed a bad deed or you have wronged yourself ; then repent to Allah as Allah accepts the repentance from his slaves. An AlAnsari woman had come and was sitting near the gate. I said to the Prophet. Isnt it improper that you speak in such a way in the presence of this lady? Allah Apostle then gave a piece of advice and I turned to my father and requested him to answer him on my behalf. My father said; What should I say? Then I turned to my mother and asked her to answer him. She said; What should I say? When my parents did not give a reply to the Prophet; I said; I testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and that Muhammad is His Apostle! And after praising and glorifying Allah as He deserves; I said; Now then; by Allah; if I were to tell you that I have not done this evil action and Allah is a witness that I am telling the truth; that would not be of any use to me on your part because you people have spoken about it and your hearts have absorbed it; and if I were to tell you that I have done this sin and Allah knows that I have not done it; then you will say; She has confessed herself guilty. By Allah; I do not see a suitable example for me and you but the example of I tried to remember Jacob name but couldnt Joseph father when he said; So for me Patience is most fitting against that which you assert. It is Allah alone whose help can be sought. At that very hour the Divine Inspiration came to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and we remained silent. Then the Inspiration was over and I noticed the signs of happiness on his face while he was removing the sweat from his forehead and saying; Have the good tidings O Aisha! Allah has revealed your innocence. At that time I was extremely angry. My parents said to me. Get up and go to him. I said; By Allah; I will not do it and will not thank him nor thank either of you; but I will thank Allah Who has revealed my innocence. You have heard this story but neither did not deny it nor change it to defend me ; Aisha used to say: But as regards Zainab bint Jahsh; the Prophet wife ; Allah protected her because of her piety; so she did not say anything except good about me ; but her sister; Hamna; was ruined among those who were ruined. Those who used to speak evil about me were Mistah; Hassan Bin Thabit; and the hypocrite; Abdullah Bin Ubai; who used to spread that news and tempt others to speak of it; and it was he and Hamna who had the greater share therein. Abu Bakr took an oath that he would never do any favor to Mistah at all. Then Allah revealed the Divine Verse: Let not those among you who are good and wealthy i.e. Abu Bakr swear not to give any sort of help to their kinsmen; and those in need; i.e. Mistah...Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving; Most Merciful. 24.22 On that; Abu Bakr said; Yes; by Allah; O our Lord! We wish that You should forgive us. So Abu Bakr again started giving to Mistah the expenditure which he used to give him before. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7071

#Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet I never remembered my parents believing in any religion other than the true religion i.e. Islam ; and I dont remember a single day passing without our being visited by Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL in the morning and in the evening. When the Muslims were put to test i.e. troubled by the pagans ; Abu Bakr set out migrating to the land of Ethiopia; and when he reached Bark AlGhimad; Ibn AlDaghina; the chief of the tribe of Qara; met him and said; O Abu Bakr! Where are you going? Abu Bakr replied; My people have turned me out of my country ; so I want to wander on the earth and worship my Lord. Ibn AlDaghina said; O Abu Bakr! A man like you should not leave his home-land; nor should he be driven out; because you help the destitute; earn their livings; and you keep good relations with your Kith and kin; help the weak and poor; entertain guests generously; and help the calamity-stricken persons. Therefore I am your protector. Go back and worship your Lord in your town. So Abu Bakr returned and Ibn AlDaghina accompanied him. In the evening Ibn AlDaghina visited the nobles of Quraish and said to them. A man like Abu Bakr should not leave his homeland; nor should he be driven out. Do you i.e. Quraish drive out a man who helps the destitute; earns their living; keeps good relations with his Kith and kin; helps the weak and poor; entertains guests generously and helps the calamity-stricken persons? So the people of Quraish could not refuse Ibn AlDaghina protection; and they said to Ibn AlDaghina; Let Abu Bakr worship his Lord in his house. He can pray and recite there whatever he likes; but he should not hurt us with it; and should not do it publicly; because we are afraid that he may affect our women and children. Ibn AlDaghina told Abu Bakr of all that. Abu Bakr stayed in that state; worshipping his Lord in his house. He did not pray publicly; nor did he recite Quran outside his house. Then a thought occurred to Abu Bakr to build a Masjid in front of his house; and there he used to pray and recite the Quran. The women and children of the pagans began to gather around him in great number. They used to wonder at him and look at him. Abu Bakr was a man who used to weep too much; and he could not help weeping on reciting the Quran. That situation scared the nobles of the pagans of Quraish; so they sent for Ibn AlDaghina. When he came to them; they said; We accepted your protection of Abu Bakr on condition that he should worship his Lord in his house; but he has violated the conditions and he has built a Masjid in front of his house where he prays and recites the Quran publicly. We are now afraid that he may affect our women and children unfavorably. So; prevent him from that. If he likes to confine the worship of his Lord to his house; he may do so; but if he insists on doing that openly; ask him to release you from your obligation to protect him; for we dislike to break our pact with you; but we deny Abu Bakr the right to announce his act publicly. Ibn AlDaghina went to Abu Bakr and said; O Abu Bakr! You know well what contract I have made on your behalf; now; you are either to abide by it; or else release me from my obligation of protecting you; because I do not want the Arabs hear that my people have dishonored a contract I have made on behalf of another man. Abu Bakr replied; I release you from your pact to protect me; and am pleased with the protection from Allah. At that time the Prophet SAWSYMBOL was in Mecca; and he said to the Muslims; In a dream I have been shown your migration place; a land of date palm trees; between two mountains; the two stony tracts. So; some people migrated to Medina; and most of those people who had previously migrated to the land of Ethiopia; returned to Medina. Abu Bakr also prepared to leave for Medina; but Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said to him; Wait for a while; because I hope that I will be allowed to migrate also. Abu Bakr said; Do you indeed expect this? Let my father be sacrificed for you! The Prophet SAWSYMBOL said; Yes. So Abu Bakr did not migrate for the sake of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL in order to accompany him. He fed two camels he possessed with the leaves of AlSamur tree that fell on being struck by a stick for four months. One day; while we were sitting in Abu Bakr house at noon; someone said to Abu Bakr; This is Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL with his head covered coming at a time at which he never used to visit us before. Abu Bakr said; May my parents be sacrificed for him. By Allah; he has not come at this hour except for a great necessity. So Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL came and asked permission to enter; and he was allowed to enter. When he entered; he said to Abu Bakr. Tell everyone who is present with you to go away. Abu Bakr replied; There are none but your family. May my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! The Prophet SAWSYMBOL said; i have been given permission to migrate. Abu Bakr said; Shall I accompany you? May my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said; Yes. Abu Bakr said; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! May my father be sacrificed for you; take one of these two camels of mine. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL replied; I will accept it with payment. So we prepared the baggage quickly and put some journey food in a leather bag for them. Asma; Abu Bakr daughter; cut a piece from her waist belt and tied the mouth of the leather bag with it; and for that reason she was named Dhat Alun-Nitaqain i.e. the owner of two belts. Then Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and Abu Bakr reached a cave on the mountain of Thaur and stayed there for three nights. Abdullah Bin Abi Bakr who was intelligent and a sagacious youth; used to stay with them aver night. He used to leave them before day break so that in the morning he would be with Quraish as if he had spent the night in Mecca. He would keep in mind any plot made against them; and when it became dark he would go and inform them of it. Amir Bin Fuhaira; the freed slave of Abu Bakr; used to bring the milch sheep of his master; Abu Bakr to them a little while after nightfall in order to rest the sheep there. So they always had fresh milk at night; the milk of their sheep; and the milk which they warmed by throwing heated stones in it. Amir Bin Fuhaira would then call the herd away when it was still dark before daybreak. He did the same in each of those three nights. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and Abu Bakr had hired a man from the tribe of Bani AlDail from the family of Bani Abd Bin Adi as an expert guide; and he was in alliance with the family of AlAs Bin Wail AlSahmi and he was on the religion of the infidels of Quraish. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL and Abu Bakr trusted him and gave him their two camels and took his promise to bring their two she camels to the cave of the mountain of Thaur in the morning after three nights later. And when they set out ; Amir Bin Fuhaira and the guide went along with them and the guide led them along the sea-shore. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3768

#Narrated Ibrahim: Alaqama went to Sham and came to the Masjid and offered a two-rakat prayer; and invoked Allah: O Allah! Bless me with a pious good companion. So he sat beside Abu AlDarda who asked; From where are you? He said; From the people of Kufa. Abu AlDarda said; Wasnt there among you the person who keeps the secrets of the Prophet SAWSYMBOL which nobody knew except him i.e.; Hudhaifa bin AlYaman. And isnt there among you the person whom Allah gave refuge from Satan through the request tongue of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ? i.e.; Ammar. #Anas reported: One day the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL was sitting amongst us that he dozed off. He then raised his head smilingly. We said: What makes you smile. #Narrated Anas Bin Malik: The night Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL was taken for a journey from the sacred Masjid of Mecca AlKaba: Three persons came to him in a dreamy while he was sleeping in the Sacred Masjid before the Divine Inspiration was revealed to Him. One of them said; Which of them is he? The middle second angel said; He is the best of them. The last third angle said; Take the best of them. Only that much happened on that night and he did not see them till they came on another night; i.e. after The Divine Inspiration was revealed to him. Fath AlBari Page 258; Vol. 17 and he saw them; his eyes were asleep but his heart was not--and so is the case with the prophets: their eyes sleep while their hearts do not sleep. So those angels did not talk to him till they carried him and placed him beside the well of Zamzam. From among them Gabriel took charge of him. Gabriel cut open the part of his body between his throat and the middle of his chest heart and took all the material out of his chest and Abdomen and then washed it with Zamzam water with his own hands till he cleansed the inside of his body; and then a gold tray containing a gold bowl full of belief and wisdom was brought and then Gabriel stuffed his chest and throat blood vessels with it and then closed it the chest. He then ascended with him to the heaven of the world and knocked on one of its doors. The dwellers of the Heaven asked; Who is it? He said; Gabriel. They said; Who is accompanying you? He said; Muhammad. They said; Has he been called? He said; Yes They said; He is welcomed. So the dwellers of the Heaven became pleased with his arrival; and they did not know what Allah would do to the Prophet SAWSYMBOL on earth unless Allah informed them. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL met Adam over the nearest Heaven. Gabriel said to the Prophet; He is your father; greet him. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL greeted him and Adam returned his greeting and said; Welcome; O my Son! O what a good son you are! Behold; he saw two flowing rivers; while he was in the nearest sky. He asked; What are these two rivers; O Gabriel? Gabriel said; These are the sources of the Nile and the Euphrates. Then Gabriel took him around that Heaven and behold; he saw another river at the bank of which there was a palace built of pearls and emerald. He put his hand into the river and found its mud like musk Adhfar. He asked; What is this; O Gabriel? Gabriel said; This is the Kauthar which your Lord has kept for you. Then Gabriel ascended with him to the second Heaven and the angels asked the same questions as those on the first Heaven; i.e.; Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel. They asked; Who is accompanying you? He said; Muhammad. They asked; Has he been sent for? He said; Yes. Then they said; He is welcomed. Then he Gabriel ascended with the Prophet SAWSYMBOL to the third Heaven; and the angels said the same as the angels of the first and the second Heavens had said. Then he ascended with him to the fourth Heaven and they said the same; and then he ascended with him to the fifth Heaven and they said the same; and then he ascended with him to the sixth Heaven and they said the same; then he ascended with him to the seventh Heaven and they said the same. On each Heaven there were prophets whose names he had mentioned and of whom I remember Idris on the second Heaven; Aaron on the fourth Heavens another prophet whose name I dont remember; on the fifth Heaven; Abraham on the sixth Heaven; and Moses on the seventh Heaven because of his privilege of talking to Allah directly. Moses said to Allah ; O Lord! I thought that none would be raised up above me. But Gabriel ascended with him the Prophet for a distance above that; the distance of which only Allah knows; till he reached the Lote Tree beyond which none may pass and then the Irresistible; the Lord of Honor and Majesty approached and came closer till he Gabriel was about two bow lengths or even nearer. It is said that it was Gabriel who approached and came closer to the Prophet. Fate AlBari Page 263; 264; Vol. 17. Among the things which Allah revealed to him then; was: Fifty prayers were enjoined on his followers in a day and a night. Then the Prophet SAWSYMBOL descended till he met Moses; and then Moses stopped him and asked; O Muhammad ! What did your Lord en join upon you? The Prophet SAWSYMBOL replied; He enjoined upon me to perform fifty prayers in a day and a night. Moses said; Your followers cannot do that; Go back so that your Lord may reduce it for you and for them. So the Prophet SAWSYMBOL turned to Gabriel as if he wanted to consult him about that issue. Gabriel told him of his opinion; saying; Yes; if you wish. So Gabriel ascended with him to the Irresistible and said while he was in his place; O Lord; please lighten our burden as my followers cannot do that. So Allah deducted for him ten prayers where upon he returned to Moses who stopped him again and kept on sending him back to his Lord till the enjoined prayers were reduced to only five prayers. Then Moses stopped him when the prayers had been reduced to five and said; O Muhammad! By Allah; I tried to persuade my nation; Bani Israel to do less than this; but they could not do it and gave it up. However; your followers are weaker in body; heart; sight and hearing; so return to your Lord so that He may lighten your burden. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL turned towards Gabriel for advice and Gabriel did not disapprove of that. So he ascended with him for the fifth time. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL said; O Lord; my followers are weak in their bodies; hearts; hearing and constitution; so lighten our burden. On that the Irresistible said; O Muhammad! the Prophet replied; Labbaik and Sadaik. Allah said; The Word that comes from Me does not change; so it will be as I enjoined on you in the Mother of the Book. Allah added; Every good deed will be rewarded as ten times so it is fifty prayers in the Mother of the Book in reward but you are to perform only five in practice. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL returned to Moses who asked; What have you done? He said; He has lightened our burden: He has given us for every good deed a tenfold reward. Moses said; By Allah! I tried to make Bani Israel observe less than that; but they gave it up. So go back to your Lord that He may lighten your burden further. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said; O Moses! By Allah; I feel shy of returning too many times to my Lord. On that Gabriel said; Descend in Allah Name. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL then woke while he was in the Sacred Masjid at Mecca. #Narrated Amr Bin Maimun: I saw Umar Bin AlKhattab a few days before he was stabbed in Medina. He was standing with Hudhaifa Bin AlYaman and Uthman Bin Hunaif to whom he said; What have you done? Do you think that you have imposed more taxation on the land of AlSwad i.e. Iraq than it can bear? They replied; We have imposed on it what it can bear because of its great yield. Umar again said; Check whether you have imposed on the land what it can not bear. They said; No; we havent. Umar added; If Allah should keep me alive I will let the widows of Iraq need no men to support them after me. But only four days had elapsed when he was stabbed to death. The day he was stabbed; I was standing and there was nobody between me and him i.e. Umar except Abdullah Bin Abbas. Whenever Umar passed between the two rows; he would say; Stand in straight lines. When he saw no defect in the rows ; he would go forward and start the prayer with Takbir. He would recite Surat Yousif or AlNahl or the like in the first raka so that the people may have the time to Join the prayer. As soon as he said Takbir; I heard him saying; The dog has killed or eaten me; at the time he i.e. the murderer stabbed him. A non-Arab infidel proceeded on carrying a double-edged knife and stabbing all the persons he passed by on the right and left till he stabbed thirteen persons out of whom seven died. When one of the Muslims saw that; he threw a cloak on him. Realizing that he had been captured; the non-Arab infidel killed himself; Umar held the hand of Abdulrahman Bin Auf and let him lead the prayer. Those who were standing by the side of Umar saw what I saw; but the people who were in the other parts of the Masjid did not see anything; but they lost the voice of Umar and they were saying; Subhan Allah! Subhan Allah! i.e. Glorified be Allah. Abdulrahman Bin Auf led the people a short prayer. When they finished the prayer; Umar said; O Ibn Abbas! Find out who attacked me. Ibn Abbas kept on looking here and there for a short time and came to say. The slave of AlMughira. On that Umar said; The craftsman? Ibn Abbas said; Yes. Umar said; May Allah curse him. I did not treat him unjustly. All the Praises are for Allah Who has not caused me to die at the hand of a man who claims himself to be a Muslim. No doubt; you and your father Abbas used to love to have more non-Arab infidels in Medina. AlAbbas had the greatest number of slaves. Ibn Abbas said to Umar. If you wish; we will do. He meant; If you wish we will kill them. Umar said; You are mistaken for you cant kill them after they have spoken your language; prayed towards your Qibla; and performed Hajj like yours. Then Umar was carried to his house; and we went along with him; and the people were as if they had never suffered a calamity before. Some said; Do not worry he will be Alright soon. Some said; We are afraid that he will die. Then an infusion of dates was brought to him and he drank it but it came out of the wound of his belly. Then milk was brought to him and he drank it; and it also came out of his belly. The people realized that he would die. We went to him; and the people came; praising him. A young man came saying; O chief of the believers! Receive the glad tidings from Allah to you due to your company with Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and your superiority in Islam which you know. Then you became the ruler i.e. Caliph and you ruled with justice and finally you have been martyred. Umar said; I wish that all these privileges will counterbalance my shortcomings so that I will neither lose nor gain anything. When the young man turned back to leave; his clothes seemed to be touching the ground. Umar said; Call the young man back to me. When he came back Umar said; O son of my brother! Lift your clothes; for this will keep your clothes clean and save you from the Punishment of your Lord. Umar further said; O Abdullah Bin Umar! See how much I am in debt to others. When the debt was checked; it amounted to approximately eighty-six thousand. Umar said; If the property of Umar family covers the debt; then pay the debt thereof; otherwise request it from Bani Adi Bin Kaab and if that too is not sufficient; ask for it from Quraish tribe; and do not ask for it from any one else; and pay this debt on my behalf. Umar then said to Abdullah ; Go to Aisha the mother of the believers and say: Umar is paying his salutation to you. But dont say: The chief of the believers; because today I am not the chief of the believers. And say: Umar Bin AlKhattab asks the permission to be buried with his two companions i.e. the Prophet; and Abu Bakr. Abdullah greeted Aisha and asked for the permission for entering; and then entered to her and found her sitting and weeping. He said to her; Umar Bin AlKhattab is paying his salutations to you; and asks the permission to be buried with his two companions. She said; I had the idea of having this place for myself; but today I prefer Umar to myself. When he returned it was said to Umar ; Abdullah Bin Umar has come. Umar said; Make me sit up. Somebody supported him against his body and Umar asked Abdullah ; What news do you have? He said; O chief of the believers! It is as you wish. She has given the permission. Umar said; Praise be to Allah; there was nothing more important to me than this. So when I die; take me; and greet Aisha and say: Umar Bin AlKhattab asks the permission to be buried with the Prophet SAWSYMBOL ; and if she gives the permission; bury me there; and if she refuses; then take me to the grave-yard of the Muslims. Then Hafsa the mother of the believers came with many other women walking with her. When we saw her; we went away. She went in to Umar and wept there for sometime. When the men asked for permission to enter; she went into another place; and we heard her weeping inside. The people said to Umar ; O chief of the believers! Appoint a successor. Umar said; I do not find anyone more suitable for the job than the following persons or group whom Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had been pleased with before he died. Then Umar mentioned Ali; Uthman; AlZubair; Talha ; Saad and Abdulrahman bin Auf and said; Abdullah Bin Umar will be a witness to you; but he will have no share in the rule. His being a witness will compensate him for not sharing the right of ruling. If Saad becomes the ruler; it will be alright: otherwise; whoever becomes the ruler should seek his help; as I have not dismissed him because of disability or dishonesty. Umar added; I recommend that my successor takes care of the early emigrants; to know their rights and protect their honor and sacred things. I also recommend that he be kind to the Ansar who had lived in Medina before the emigrants and Belief had entered their hearts before them. I recommend that the ruler should accept the good of the righteous among them and excuse their wrong-doers; and I recommend that he should do good to all the people of the towns AlAnsar ; as they are the protectors of Islam and the source of wealth and the source of annoyance to the enemy. I also recommend that nothing be taken from them except from their surplus with their consent. I also recommend that he do good to the Arab bedouin; as they are the origin of the Arabs and the material of Islam. He should take from what is inferior; amongst their properties and distribute that to the poor amongst them. I also recommend him concerning Allah and His Apostle protectees i.e. Dhimmis to fulfill their contracts and to fight for them and not to overburden them with what is beyond their ability. So when Umar expired; we carried him out and set out walking. Abdullah Bin Umar greeted Aisha and said; Umar Bin AlKhattab asks for the permission. Aisha said; Bring him in. He was brought in and buried beside his two companions. When he was buried; the group recommended by Umar held a meeting. Then Abdulrahman said; Reduce the candidates for rulership to three of you. AlZubair said; I give up my right to Ali. Talha said; I give up my right to Uthman; Sad; I give up my right to Abdulrahman Bin Auf. Abdulrahman then said to Uthman and Ali ; Now which of you is willing to give up his right of candidacy to that he may choose the better of the remaining two; bearing in mind that Allah and Islam will be his witnesses. So both the sheiks i.e. Uthman and Ali kept silent. Abdulrahman said; Will you both leave this matter to me; and I take Allah as my Witness that I will not choose but the better of you? They said; Yes. So Abdulrahman took the hand of one of them i.e. Ali and said; You are related to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and one of the earliest Muslims as you know well. So I ask you by Allah to promise that if I select you as a ruler you will do justice; and if I select Uthman as a ruler you will listen to him and obey him. Then he took the other i.e. Uthman Aasi de and said the same to him. When Abdulrahman secured their agreement to this covenant; he said; O Uthman! Raise your hand. So he i.e. Abdulrahman gave him i.e. Uthman the solemn pledge; and then Ali gave him the pledge of allegiance and then all the Medina people gave him the pledge of allegiance. #Narrated Abdullah Bin Kaab Bin Malik: Who; from among Kaab sons; was the guide of Kaab when he became blind: I heard Kaab Bin Malik narrating the story of the Ghazwa of Tabuk in which he failed to take part. Kaab said; I did not remain behind Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL in any Ghazwa that he fought except the Ghazwa of Tabuk; and I failed to take part in the Ghazwa of Badr; but Allah did not admonish anyone who had not participated in it; for in fact; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had gone out in search of the caravan of Quraish till Allah made them i.e. the Muslims and their enemy meet without any appointment. I witnessed the night of AlAqaba pledge with Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL when we pledged for Islam; and I would not exchange it for the Badr battle although the Badr battle is more popular amongst the people than it i.e. AlAqaba pledge. As for my news in this battle of Tabuk ; I had never been stronger or wealthier than I was when I remained behind the Prophet SAWSYMBOL in that Ghazwa. By Allah; never had I two camels before; but I had then at the time of this Ghazwa. Whenever Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL wanted to make a Ghazwa; he used to hide his intention by apparently referring to different Ghazwa till it was the time of that Ghazwa of Tabuk which Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL fought in severe heat; facing; a long journey; desert; and the great number of enemy. So the Prophet SAWSYMBOL announced to the Muslims clearly their destination so that they might get prepared for their Ghazwa. So he informed them clearly of the destination he was going to. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL was accompanied by a large number of Muslims who could not be listed in a book namely; a register. Kaab added; Any man who intended to be absent would think that the matter would remain hidden unless Allah revealed it through Divine Revelation. So Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL fought that Ghazwa at the time when the fruits had ripened and the shade looked pleasant. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and his companions prepared for the battle and I started to go out in order to get myself ready along with them; but I returned without doing anything. I would say to myself; I can do that. So I kept on delaying it every now and then till the people got ready and Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and the Muslims along with him departed; and I had not prepared anything for my departure; and I said; I will prepare myself for departure one or two days after him; and then join them. In the morning following their departure; I went out to get myself ready but returned having done nothing. Then again in the next morning; I went out to get ready but returned without doing anything. Such was the case with me till they hurried away and the battle was missed by me. Even then I intended to depart to take them over. I wish I had done so! But it was not in my luck. So; after the departure of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ; whenever I went out and walked amongst the people i.e; the remaining persons ; it grieved me that I could see none around me; but one accused of hypocrisy or one of those weak men whom Allah had excused. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL did not remember me till he reached Tabuk. So while he was sitting amongst the people in Tabuk; he said; What did Kaab do? A man from Banu Salama said; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! He has been stopped by his two Burdas i.e. garments and his looking at his own flanks with pride. Then Muadh Bin Jabal said; What a bad thing you have said! By Allah! O Allahs Apostle! We know nothing about him but good. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL kept silent. Kaab Bin Malik added; When I heard that he i.e. the Prophet SAWSYMBOL was on his way back to Medina. I got dipped in my concern; and began to think of false excuses; saying to myself; How can I avoid his anger tomorrow? And I took the advice of wise member of my family in this matter. When it was said that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ; had come near all the evil false excuses abandoned from my mind and I knew well that I could never come out of this problem by forging a false statement. Then I decided firmly to speak the truth. So Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL arrived in the morning; and whenever he returned from a journey.; he used to visit the Masjid first of all and offer a two-rakat prayer therein and then sit for the people. So when he had done all that this time ; those who had failed to join the battle of Tabuk came and started offering false excuses and taking oaths before him. They were something over eighty men; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL accepted the excuses they had expressed; took their pledge of allegiance asked for Allah Forgiveness for them; and left the secrets of their hearts for Allah to judge. Then I came to him; and when I greeted him; he smiled a smile of an angry person and then said; Come on. So I came walking till I sat before him. He said to me; What stopped you from joining us. Had you not purchased an animal For carrying you? I answered; Yes; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! But by Allah; if I were sitting before any person from among the people of the world other than you; I would have avoided his anger with an excuse. By Allah; I have been bestowed with the power of speaking fluently and eloquently; but by Allah; I knew well that if today I tell you a lie to seek your favor; Allah would surely make you angry with me in the near future; but if I tell you the truth; though you will get angry because of it; I hope for Allah Forgiveness. Really; by Allah; there was no excuse for me. By Allah; I had never been stronger or wealthier than I was when I remained behind you. Then Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said; As regards this man; he has surely told the truth. So get up till Allah decides your case. I got up; and many men of Banu Salama followed me and said to me. By Allah; we never witnessed you doing any sin before this. Surely; you failed to offer excuse to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL as the others who did not join him; have offered. The prayer of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL to Allah to forgive you would have been sufficient for you. By Allah; they continued blaming me so much that I intended to return to the Prophet and accuse myself of having told a lie; but I said to them; Is there anybody else who has met the same fate as I have? They replied; Yes; there are two men who have said the same thing as you have; and to both of them was given the same order as given to you. I said; Who are they? They replied; Murara Bin AlRabi AlAmri and Hilal Bin Umaiya AlWaqifi. By that they mentioned to me two pious men who had attended the Ghazwa Battle of Badr; and in whom there was an example for me. So I did not change my mind when they mentioned them to me. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL forbade all the Muslims to talk to us; the three aforesaid persons out of all those who had remained behind in that Ghazwa. So we kept away from the people and they changed their attitude towards us till the very land where I lived appeared strange to me as if I did not know it. We remained in that condition for fifty nights. As regards my two fellows; they remained in their houses and kept on weeping; but I was the youngest of them and the firmest of them; so I used to go out and witness the prayers along with the Muslims and roam about in the markets; but none would talk to me; and I would come to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and greet him while he was sitting In his gathering after the prayer; and I would wonder whether the Prophet SAWSYMBOL did move his lips in return to my greetings or not. Then I would offer my prayer near to him and look at him stealthily. When I was busy with my prayer; he would turn his face towards me; but when I turned my face to him; he would turn his face away from me. When this harsh attitude of the people lasted long; I walked till I scaled the wall of the garden of Abu Qatada who was my cousin and dearest person to me; and I offered my greetings to him. By Allah; he did not return my greetings. I said; O Abu Qatada! I beseech you by Allah! Do you know that I love Allah and His Apostle? He kept quiet. I asked him again; beseeching him by Allah; but he remained silent. Then I asked him again in the Name of Allah. He said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Thereupon my eyes flowed with tears and I returned and jumped over the wall. Kaab added; While I was walking in the market of Medina; suddenly I saw a Nabati i.e. a Christian farmer from the Nabatis of Sham who came to sell his grains in Medina; saying; Who will lead me to Kaab Bin Malik? The people began to point me out for him till he came to me and handed me a letter from the king of Ghassan in which the following was written: To proceed; I have been informed that your friend i.e. the Prophet SAWSYMBOL has treated you harshly. Anyhow; Allah does not let you live at a place where you feel inferior and your right is lost. So join us; and we will console you. When I read it; I said to myself; This is also a sort of a test. Then I took the letter to the oven and made a fire therein by burning it. When forty out of the fifty nights elapsed; behold ! There came to me the messenger of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and said; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL orders you to keep away from your wife; I said; Should I divorce her; or else! what should I do? He said; No; only keep aloof from her and do not cohabit her. The Prophet SAWSYMBOL sent the same message to my two fellows. Then I said to my wife. Go to your parents and remain with them till Allah gives His Verdict in this matter. Kaab added; The wife of Hilal Bin Umaiya came to Apostle and said; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! Hilal Bin Umaiya is a helpless old man who has no servant to attend on him. Do you dislike that I should serve him? He said; No you can serve him but he should not come near you. She said; By Allah; he has no desire for anything. By; Allah; he has never ceased weeping till his case began till this day of his. continued... continuing... 1 : -5.702:...... On that; some of my family members said to me; Will you also ask Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL to permit your wife to serve you as he has permitted the wife of Hilal Bin Umaiya to serve him? I said; By Allah; I will not ask the permission of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL regarding her; for I do not know What Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL would say if I asked him to permit her to serve me while I am a young man. Then I remained in that state for ten more nights after that till the period of fifty nights was completed starting from the time when Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL prohibited the people from talking to us. When I had offered the Fajr prayer on the 50th morning on the roof of one of our houses and while I was sitting in the condition which Allah described in the Quran i.e. my very soul seemed straitened to me and even the earth seemed narrow to me for all its spaciousness; there I heard the voice of one who had ascended the mountain of Sala calling with his loudest voice; O Kaab Bin Malik! Be happy by receiving good tidings. I fell down in prostration before Allah; realizing that relief has come. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had announced the acceptance of our repentance by Allah when he had offered the Fajr prayer. The people then went out to congratulate us. Some bringers of good tidings went out to my two fellows; and a horseman came to me in haste; and a man of Banu Aslam came running and ascended the mountain and his voice was swifter than the horse. When he i.e. the man whose voice I had heard; came to me conveying the good tidings; I took off my garments and dressed him with them; and by Allah; I owned no other garments than them on that day. Then I borrowed two garments and wore them and went to Allah Apostle. The people started receiving me in batches; congratulating me on Allah Acceptance of my repentance; saying; We congratulate you on Allah Acceptance of your repentance. Kaab further said; When I entered the Masjid. I saw Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL sitting with the people around him. Talha Bin Ubaidullah swiftly came to me; shook hands with me and congratulated me. By Allah; none of the Muhajirin i.e. Emigrants got up for me except him i.e. Talha ; and I will never forget this for Talha. Kaab added; When I greeted Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL he; his face being bright with joy; said Be happy with the best day that you have got ever since your mother delivered you. Kaab added; I said to the Prophet SAWSYMBOL Is this forgiveness from you or from Allah? He said; No; it is from Allah. Whenever Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL became happy; his face would shine as if it were a piece of moon; and we all knew that characteristic of him. When I sat before him; I said; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! Because of the acceptance of my repentance I will give up all my wealth as alms for the Sake of Allah and His Apostle. Allah Apostle said; Keep some of your wealth; as it will be better for you. I said; So I will keep my share from Khaibar with me; and added; O Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ! Allah has saved me for telling the truth; so it is a part of my repentance not to tell but the truth as long as I am alive. By Allah; I do not know anyone of the Muslims whom Allah has helped fortelling the truth more than me. Since I have mentioned that truth to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL till today; I have never intended to tell a lie. I hope that Allah will also save me from telling lies the rest of my life. So Allah revealed to His Apostle the Verse:- Verily; Allah has forgiven the Prophet; the Muhajirin i.e. Emigrants up to His Saying And be with those who are true in word and deed. 9.117-119 By Allah; Allah has never bestowed upon me; apart from His guiding me to Islam; a Greater blessing than the fact that I did not tell a lie to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL which would have caused me to perish as those who have told a lie perished; for Allah described those who told lies with the worst description He ever attributed to anybody else. Allah said:- They i.e. the hypocrites will swear by Allah to you when you return to them up to His Saying Certainly Allah is not pleased with the rebellious people- 9.95-96 Kaab added; We; the three persons; differed altogether from those whose excuses Allah Apostle accepted when they swore to him. He took their pledge of allegiance and asked Allah to forgive them; but Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL left our case pending till Allah gave His Judgment about it. As for that Allah said :- And to the three He did for give also who remained behind. 9.118 What Allah said in this Verse does not indicate our failure to take part in the Ghazwa; but it refers to the deferment of making a decision by the Prophet SAWSYMBOL about our case in contrast to the case of those who had taken an oath before him and he excused them by accepting their excuses. #It was narrated from Umar Bin AlKhattab that: He saw a Hullah of Sira silk being offered for sale at the door of the Masjid. I said: O Messenger of Allah; why dont you buy this and wear it on Fridays; and when meeting the delegations when they come to you? The Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL said: This is only worn by one who has no share in the Hereafter. After that some other Hullahs were brought to the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL and he gave me one. He said: O Messenger of Allah; you gave me this when you said what you said about it! The Prophet SAWSYMOBOL said: I did not give it to you to wear it! Rather I gave it to you to give away or to sell. So Umar gave it to a brother of his son on his mother side who was an idolater. #Bilal narrated: Allah Messenger said [to me]: Do not say the Tathwib for any prayer except the Fajr prayer.[He said:] There is something on this topic from Abu Mahdhurah.Abu Eisa said: We do not know of the Hadith of Bilal except as a narration of Abu Israil AlMulai. Abu Israil did not hear this Hadith from AlHakam Bin Utaibah. He said: He only reported it from AlHasan Bin Umarah; from AlHakam Bin Utaibah. Abu Israil name is [Ismail Bin Abi Ishaq; and he is not strong according to the people of Hadith. The people of knowledge have differed over the interpretation of AlTathwib. Some of them say that AlTathwib is when one says AlPrayeru Khairummin AlNawm; prayer is better than sleep for the Adhanof Fajr. This is the saying of Ibn AlMubarak and Ahmad.Ishaq said something different about AlTathwib; he said: [The disliked Tathwib] is something that the people started after the Prophet; when the Muadh-dhincalls the Adhan and the people are slow in coming; so between the Adhan and the Iqamah he says:Qad Qama IsPrayer; Haya AlaPrayer; Haya AlalFalah. Prayer is ready; come to prayer; come to success. [He said:] This Tathwib; which Ishaq mentioned; is the one that the people of knowledge dislike; which they innovated after the Prophet. But Ibn AlMubarak and Ahmad explained that AlTathwib is when the Muadh-dhin says: AlPrayeru Khairum minan-Nawm; prayer is better than sleep for the Adhan of Fajr. And this is the correct saying; and it is called AlTathawub as well; and this is the one chosen by the people of knowledge; and it is their opinion. It has been reported from Abdullah Bin Umar that he would say: AlPrayeru Khairum-minan-Nawm; prayer is better than sleep for Fajr.It has been reported from Mujahid that he said: I entered a Masjid with Abdullah Bin Umar in which the Adhan was called; and we wanted to pray in it. Then the Muadh-dhin said the Tathwib. So Abdullah Bin Umar left the Masjid and said: Let us leave the place of this innovator And he did not pray in it.[He said:] Abdullah only disliked the Tathwib that the people invented later on. #Ibn Shihab reported that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL made an expedition to Tabuk and he the Holy Prophet had in his mind the idea of threatening the Christians of Arabia in Syria and those of Rome. Ibn Shihab further reported that Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah Bin Kaab informed him that Abdullah Bin Kaab who served as the guide of Kaab Bin Malik as he became blind that he heard Kaab Bin Malik narrate the story of his remaining behind Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL from the Battle of Tabuk. Kaab Bin Malik said: I never remained behind Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL from any expedition which he undertook except the Battle of Tabuk and that of the Battle of Badr. So far as the Battle of Badr is concerned; nobody was blamed for remaining behind as Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and the Muslims did not set out for attack but for waylaying the caravan of the Quraish; but it was Allah Who made them confront their enemies without their intention to do so. I had the honour to be with Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL on the night of Aqaba when we pledged our allegiance to Islam and it was more dear to me than my participation in the Battle of Badr; although Badr was more popular amongst people as compared with that Tabuk. And this is my story of remaining back from Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL on the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk. Never did I possess means enough and my circumstances more favourable than at the occasion of this expedition. And; by Allah; I had never before this expedition simultaneously in my possession two rides. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL set out for this expedition in extremely hot season; the journey was long and the land which he and his army had to cover was waterless and he had to confront a large army; so he informed the Muslims about the actual situation they had to face ; so that they should adequately equip themselves for this expedition; and he also told them the destination where he intended to go. And the Muslims who accompanied Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL at that time were large in numbers but there was no proper record of them. Kaab further said: Few were the persons who wanted to absent themselves; and were under the impression that they could easily conceal themselves and thus remain undetected until revelations from Allah; the Exalted and Glorious descended in connection with them. And Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL set out on an expedition when the fruits were ripe and their shadows had been lengthened. I had weakness for them and it was during this season that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL made preparations and the Muslims too along with them. I also set out in the morning so that I should make preparations along with them but I came back and did nothing and said to myself: I have means enough to make preparations as soon as I like. And I went on doing this postponing my preparations until people were about to depart and it was in the morning that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL set out and the Muslims too along with him; but I made no preparations. I went early in the morning and came back; but I made no decision. I continued to do so until they the Muslims hastened and covered a good deal of distance. I also made up my mind to march on and to meet them. Would that I had done that but perhaps it was not destined for me. After the departure of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL as I went out amongst people; I was shocked to find that I did not find anyone like me but people who were labelled as hypocrites or the people whom Allah granted exemption because of their incapacity and Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL took no notice of me until he had reached Tabuk. One day as he was sitting amongst the people in Tabuk he said: What has happened to Kaab Bin Malik? A person from Banu Salama said: Allah Messenger; the beauty of his cloak and his appreciation of his sides have allured him and he was thus detained. Muadh Bin Jabal said: Woe be upon that what you contend. Allah Messenger; by Allah; we know nothing about him but good. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ; however; kept quiet. It was during that time that he the Holy Prophet saw a person dressed in all white garment shattering the illusion of eye mirage. Thereupon Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said: May he be Abu Khaithama and; lo; it was Abu Khaithama AlAnsari and he was that person who contributed a sa of dates and was scoffed at by the hypocrites. Kaab Bin Malik farther said: When this news reached me that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL was on his way back from Tabuk I was greatly perturbed. I thought of fabricating false stories and asked myself how I would save myself from his anger on the following day. In this connection; I sought the help of every prudent man from amongst the members of my family and when it was said to me that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL was about to arrive; all the false ideas banished from my mind and I came to the conclusion that nothing could save me but the telling of truth; so I decided to speak the truth and it was in the morning that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL arrived in Medina. And it was his habit that as he came back from a journey he first went to the Masjid and observed two Rakahs of nafl prayer as a mark of gratitude and then sat amongst people. And as he did that; those who had remained behind him began to put forward their excuses and take an oath before him and they were more than eighty persons. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL accepted their excuses on the very face of them and accepted their allegiance and sought forgiveness for them and left their secret intentions to Allah; until I presented myself to him. I greeted him and he smiled and there was a tinge of anger in that. He the Holy Prophet then said to me: Come forward. I went forward until I sat in front of him. He said to me: What kept you back? Could you not afford to go in for a ride? I said: Allah Messenger; by Allah; if I were to sit in the presence of anybody else from amongst the worldly people I would have definitely saved myself from his anger on one pretext or the other and I have also the knack to fall into argumentation; but; by Allah; I am fully aware of the fact that if I were to put forward before you a false excuse to please you Allah would definitely provoke your wrath upon me; and if I speak the truth you may be annoyed with me; but I hope that Allah would make its end well and; by Allah; there is no valid excuse for me. By Allah; I never possessed so good means; and I never had such favourable conditions for me as I had when I stayed behind you failed to join the expedition. Thereupon; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said: This man told the truth; so get up until Allah gives a decision in your case. I stood up and some people of Banu Salama followed me in hot haste; and they said to me: By Allah; we do not know about you that you committed a sin prior to this. You; however; showed inability to put forward an excuse before Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL as those who stayed behind him have put forward excuses. It would have been enough for the forgiveness of your sin that Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL would have sought forgiveness for you. By Allah; they continued to incite me until I thought of going back to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and contradict myself. Then I said to them: Has anyone else also met the same fate? They said: Yes; two persons have met the same fate as has fallen to you and they have made the sane statement as you have made; and the same verdict has been delivered in their case as it has been delivered in your case. I said: Who are they? They said: Murara Bin AlRabia Amiri and Hilal Bin Umaya AlWaqafi. They made a mention of these two pious persons to me who had participated in the Battle of Badr and there was an example for me in them. I went away when they named these two persons. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL forbade the Nluslims to talk with three of us from amongst those persons who had stayed behind him. The people began to avoid us and their attitude towards us underwent a change and it seemed as if the whole atmosphere had turned hostile against us and it was in fact the same atmosphere ot which I was fully aware and in which I had lived for a fairly long time. We spent fifty nights in this very state and my two friends confined themselves withen their houses and spent most of the time in weeping; but as I was young and strong amongst them I got out of my house ; participated in congregational prayers; moved about in the bazar; but none spoke to me. I came to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL as he sat amongst people after the prayer; greeted him and asked myself whether his lips stirred in response to my greetings or not. Then I observed prayer beside him and looked at him with stealing glances and when I attended to my prayer; he looked at me and when I cast a glance at him he turned away his eyes from me. And when the harsh treatment of the Muslims towards me extended to a considerable length of time; I walked until I climbed upon the wall of the garden of Abu Qatada; and he was my cousin; and I had the greatest love for him. I greeted him but; by Allah; he did not respond to my greetings. I said to him: Abu Qatada; I adjure you by Allah; arnt you well aware of the fact that I love Allah and His Messenger SAWSYMBOL the most. He kept quiet. I again repeated saying: I adjure you by Allah. arnt you well aware of the fact that I love Allah and His Messenger SAWSYMBOL the most. He kept quiet. I again adjured him; whereupon he said: Allah and the Messenger SAWSYMBOL are best aware of it. My eyes began to shed tears and I came back climbing down from the wall and as I was walking in the bazar of Medina a Nabatean from amongst the Nabateans of Syria; who had come to sell foodgrains in Medina; asked people to direct him to Kaab Bin Malik. People gave him the indication by pointing towards me. He came to me and delivered to me a letter of the King of Ghassan and as I was a scribe I read that letter and it was written like this: Coming to my point; it has been conveyed to us that your friend the Holy Prophet is subjecting you to cruelty and Allah has not created you for a place where you are to be degraded and where you cannot find your right place; so you come to us that we should accord you honour. As I read that letter I said: This is also a calamity; so I burnt it in the oven. When out of the fifty days; forty days had passed and Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL received no revelation; there came the messenger of Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL to me and said: Verily; Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL has commanded you to remain separate from your wife. I said: Should I divorce her or what else should I do? He said: No; but only remain separate from her and dont have sexual contact with her. The same message was sent to my companions. So I said to my wife: You better go to your parents and stay there with them until Allah gives the decision in my case. The wife of Hilal Bin Umaya came to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and said: Allah Messenger; Hilal Bin Umaya is a senile person; he has no servant. Do you disapprove of my serving him? He said: No; but dont go near him. She said: By Allah; he has no such instinct in him. By Allah; he spends his time in weeping from that day to this day. Some of the members of my family said to me: Were you to seek permission from Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL in regard to your wife as he has granted permission to the wife of Hilal Bin Umaya to serve him. I said: I would not seek permission from Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL ; for I cannot say what Allah Apostle may say in response to seeking my permission. Moreover; I am a young man. It was in this state that I spent ten more nights and thus fifty nights had passed that people had observed boycott with us. It was on the morning of the fiftieth night that I observed my dawn prayer and was sitting on one of the roofs of our houses. And I was in fact sitting in that very state which Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; has described about us in these words: Life had become hard for myself and the earth had compressed despite its vastness; that I heard the noise of an announcer from the peak of the hill of Sal saying at the top of his voice: Kaab Bin Malik; there is glad tidings for you. I fell down in prostration and came to realise that there was a message of relief for me. Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had informed the people of the acceptance of our repentance by Allah as he offered the dawn prayer. So the people went on to give us glad tidings and some of them went to my friends in order to give them the glad tidings and a person galloped his horse and came from the tribe of Aslam and his horse reached me more quickly than his voice. And when he came to me whose sound I heard; he gave me the glad tidings. I took off my clothes and clothed him with them because of his bringing good news to me and; by Allah; I possessed nothing else in the form of clothes than these two on that occasion; and I asked one to lend me two clothes and dressed myself in them. I came to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and on my way I met groups of people who greeted me because of the acceptance of repentance and they said: Here is a greeting for you for your repentance being accepted by Allah. I moved on until I came to the Masjid and Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL had been sitting there amongst persons. So Talha Bin Ubaidullah got up and rushed towards me and he shook hands with me and greeted me and; by Allah; no person stood up to greet me from amongst the emigrants except he. Kaab said that he never forgot this good gesture of Talha. Kaab further said: I greeted Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL with Assalam-o-Alaikam and his face was glistening because of delight; and he said: Let there be glad tidings and blessings for you; the like of which you have neither found nor you will find; as you find today since your mother gave your birth. I said: Allah Messenger. is this acceptance of repentance from you or from Allah? He said: No; it is not from ma ; it is from Allah; and it was common with Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL that as he was happy his face brightened up and it looked like a part of the moon and it was from this that we recognised it his delight. As I sat before him; I said: Allah Messenger; am I allowed to give in charity my wealth for Allah sake and for the sake of His Messenger SAWSYMBOL ? Thereupon Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL said: Keep some property with you as it is better for you. I said: I shall keep with me that part of my property which fell to my lot on the occasion of the expedition of Khaibar. I said: Allah Messenger; verily; Allah has granted me salvation because of truth and; therefore; I think that repentance implies that I should not speak anything but truth as long as I live. He said: By Allah; I do not know whether anyone amongst the Muslims was put to more severe trial than I by Allah because of telling the truth. And since I made a mention of this to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL up to this day I have not told any lie and; by Allah; I have decided not to tell a lie and I hope that Allah would save me from trials for the rest of my life and Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; revealed these verses: Certainly; Allah has turned in Mercy to the Prophet and the emigrants and the helpers who followed him in the hour of hardship after the hearts of a part of them were about to deviate; then He turned to them in mercy. Surely; to them He is Compassionate; Merciful and He turned in Mercy to the three who were left behind until the earth despite its vastness became strait for them and their souls were also straitened to them. And this revelation reached up to the words : O you who believe; develop God consciousness; and be with the truthful ix. 117-118. Kaab said: By Allah; since Allah directed me to Islam there has been no blessing more significant for me than this truth of mine which I spoke to Allah Messenger SAWSYMBOL and if I were to tell a lie I would have been ruined as were ruined those who told lies; for in regard to those who told lies Allah used harshest words used for anyone as He descended revelation and the words of Allah are : They will swear by Allah to you when you retu n to them so that you may leave them alone. So leave them alone. Surely; they are unclean and their resort is Hell; recompense for what they earned. They will swear to you that you may be pleased with them but if you are pleased with them; yet surely Allah is not pleased with the transgressing people ix. 95-96. Kaab said that the matter of us three persons was deferred as compared with those who took an oath in the presence of Allahs Messenger SAWSYMBOL and he accepted their allegiance and sought forgiveness for them and Allah did not give any decision in regard to us. It was Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; Who gave decisions in our case; three who remained behind. The words of the Quran the three who were left behind do not mean that we remained back from Jihad but these imply that He kept our matter behind them who took oath and presented excuse before Him. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters. SahihMuslim-017-001-19381

#Mahmud Bin AlRabi reported that Ibn Bin Malik; who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL and who participated in the Battle of Badr and was among the Ansar of Medina ; told that he came to the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL and said: Messenger of Allah; I have lost my eyesight and I lead my people in prayer. When there is a downpour there is then a current of water in the valley that stands between me and them and I find it impossible to go to their Masjid and lead them in prayer. Messenger of Allah; I earnestly beg of you that you should come and observe prayer at a place of worship in my house so that I should then use it as a place of worship. The Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL said: Well; it God so wills. I would soon do so. Itban said: On the following day when the day dawned; the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him came along with Abu Bakr at-Siddiq; and the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL asked permission to get into the house. I gave him the permission; and be did not sit after entering the house; when he said: At what place in your house you desire me to say prayer? I Itban Bin Malik said: I pointed to a corner in the house; The Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL stood at that place for prayer and pronounced Allah-o-Akbar Allah is the Greatest as an expression for the commencement of prayer. We too stood behind him; and he said two rakahs and then pronounced salutation marking the end of the prayer. We detained him the Holy Prophet for the meat curry we had prepared for; him. The people of the neighbouring houses came and thus there was a good gathering in our house. One of them said: Where is Malik Bin Dukhshun? Upon this one of them remarked: He is a hypocrite; he does not love Allah and His Messenger. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL said: Do not say so about him. Dont you see that he utters La ilaha ill-Allah There is no god but Allah and seeks the pleasure of Allah through it? They said: Allah and His Messenger know beet. One among the audience said: We see his inclination and wellwishing for hypocrites only. Upon this the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL again said: Verily Allah has forbidden the Fire for one who says: There is no god but Allah; thereby seeking Allah pleasure. Ibn Shihab said: I asked Husain Bin Muhammad AlAnsar he was one of the leaders of Banu Salim about the hadith transmitted by Mahmud Bin Rabi and he testified it. SahihMuslim-017-001-24485

#It is narrated on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMBOL said: I was brought AlBuraq Who is an animal white and long; larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule; who would place his hoof a distance equal to the range of version. I mounted it and came to the Temple Bait Maqdis in Jerusalem ; then tethered it to the ring used by the prophets. I entered the Masjid and prayed two rakahs in it; and then came out and Gabriel brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. I chose the milk; and Gabriel said: You have chosen the natural thing. Then he took me to heaven. Gabriel then asked the gate of heaven to be opened and he was asked who he was. He replied: Gabriel. He was again asked: Who is with you? He Gabriel said: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? Gabriel replied: He has indeed been sent for. And the door of the heaven was opened for us and lo! we saw Adam. He welcomed me and prayed for my good. Then we ascended to the second heaven. Gabriel SAWSYMBOL asked the door of heaven to be opened ; and he was asked who he was. He answered: Gabriel; and was again asked: Who is with you? He replied: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened. When I entered Isa Bin Maryam and Yahya Bin Zakariya peace be upon both of them ; cousins from the maternal side. welcomed me and prayed for my good Then I was taken to the third heaven and Gabriel asked for the opening of the door. He was asked: Who are you? He replied: Gabriel. He was again asked: Who is with you? He replied Muhammad SAWSYMBOL. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and I saw Yousif peace of Allah be upon him who had been given half of world beauty. He welcomed me prayed for my well-being. Then he ascended with us to the fourth heaven. Gabriel SAWSYMBOL asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us; and lo! Idris was there. He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being About him Allah; the Exalted and the Glorious; has said: We elevated him Idris to the exalted position Quran xix. 57. Then he ascended with us to the fifth heaven and Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He replied Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad. It was said Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and then I was with Harun Aaron-peace of Allah be upon him. He welcomed me prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken to the sixth heaven. Gabriel SAWSYMBOL asked for the door to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I was with Mousa Moses SAWSYMBOL He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken up to the seventh heaven. Gabriel asked the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He said: Gabriel It was said. Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad SAWSYMBOL. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I found Ibrahim Abraham SAWSYMBOL reclining against the Bait AlMamur and there enter into it seventy thousand angels every day; never to visit this place again. Then I was taken to Sidrat AlMuntaha whose leaves were like elephant ears and its fruit like big earthenware vessels. And when it was covered by the Command of Allah; it underwent such a change that none amongst the creation has the power to praise its beauty. Then Allah revealed to me a revelation and He made obligatory for me fifty prayers every day and night. Then I went down to Moses SAWSYMBOL and he said: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: Return to thy Lord and beg for reduction in the number of prayers ; for your community shallnot be able to bear this burden. as I have put to test the children of Israil and tried them and found them too weak to bear such a heavy burden. He the Holy Prophet said: I went back to my Lord and said: My Lord; make things lighter for my Ummah. The Lord reduced five prayers for me. I went down to Moses and said. The Lord reduced five prayers for me; He said: Verily thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden; return to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. I then kept going back and forth between my Lord Blessed and Exalted and Moses; till He said: There are five prayers every day and night. O Muhammad; each being credited as ten; so that makes fifty prayers. He who intends to do a good deed and does not do it will have a good deed recorded for him; and if he does it; it will be recorded for him as ten; whereas he who intends to do an evil deed and does not do; it will not be recorded for him; and if he does it; only one evil deed will be recorded. I then came down and when I came to Moses and informed him; he said: Go back to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. Upon this the Messenger of Allah remarked: I returned to my Lord until I felt ashamed before Him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18700

#Masruq reported that there came to Abdullah a person and said: I have left behind in the Masjid a man who explains the Quran according to his personal discretion and he explained this verse: So wait for the day when the Heaven brings a clear smoke. He says that a smoke would come to the people on the Day of Resurrection anl it will withhold breath and they would be inflicted with cold. Abdullah said: He who has knowledge should say something and he who has no knowledge should simply say: Allah is best aware. This reflects the understanding of a person that he should say about that which he does not know that it is Allah who knows best. The fact is that when the Quraish disobeyed Allah Apostle SAWSYMBOL he supplicated Allah that they should be afflicted with famine and starvation as was done in case of Yousif. And they were so much hard pressed that a person would ace the sky and he would see between him and the sky something like smoke and they were so much hard pressed that they began to cat the bones; and a person came to Allah Apostle SAWSYMBOL and said: Allah Messenger. seek forgiveness for the tribe of Mudar for its people have been undone. The Messenger SAWSYMBOL said: For Mudar? You are overbold; but he supplicated Allah for them. It was upon this that this verse was revealed: We shall remove the chastisement a little; but they will surely return to evil xliv. 15. lie the narrator said: There was a downpoor of rain upon them. When there was some relief for them they returned to the same position as they had been before; and Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; revealed this verse: So wait for the day when the heaven brings a clear smoke enveloping people. This is a grievous torment on the day when We seize them with the most violent seizing; surely; We shall exact retribution. And this seizing implied Battle of Badr. SunanAlNasai-017-001-11555It was narrated from Abu Salamah Bin Abdulrahman and Abu Abdullah AlAgharr; the freed slave of the Juhanis - better of whom were companions of Abu Huraira - that they heard Abu Huraira say: One prayer in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is better than one thousand prayers offered in other Masjids; except AlMasjid AlHaram; for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the last of the prophets and his Masjid was the last of the Masjids. Abu Salamah and Abu Abdullah said: We do not doubt that Abu Huraira was speaking on the basis of the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; but we could not verify that Hadith with Abu Huraira before he died. Then we remembered that and we blamed one another for not having spoken to Abu Huraira about that; so that he could attribute it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ if he had indeed heard it from him. While we were arguing; we went and sat down with Abdullah Bin Ibrahim Bin Qariz; and we told him about the Hadith and how we had been negligent in not checking it with Abu Huraira. We told him that in our land there was a church that belonged to us. We asked him to give us the leftovers of his purification Ablution water. So he called for water; performed Ablution and rinsed out his mouth; then he poured it into a vessel and said to us: Leave; and when you return to your land; demolish your church; and sprinkle this water on that place; and take it as a Masjid. We said: Our land is far away and it is very hot; the water is far away and it is very hot; the water will dry up. He said: Add more water to it; for that will only make it better. So we left and when we came to our land we demolished our church; then we sprinkled the water on that place and took it as a Masjid; and we called the Adhan in it. 1. Amir Bin Sharahil Shabi Shab Hamdan reported that he asked Fatima; daughter of Qais and sister of AlDahhak Bin Qais and she was the first amongst the emigrant women: Narrate to me a hadith which you had heard directly from Allah Messenger ﷺ and there is no extra link in between them. She said: Very well; if you like; I am prepared to do that; and he said to her: Well; do It and narrate that to me. She said: I married the son of Mughira and he was a chosen young man of Quraish at that time; but he fell as a martyr in the first Jihad fighting on the side of Allah Messenger ﷺ. When I became a widow; Abdulrahman Bin Auf; one amongst the group of the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; sent me the proposal of marriage. Allah Messenger ﷺ also sent me such a message for his freed slave Usama Bin Zaid. And it had been conveyed to me that Allah Messenger ﷺ had said about Usama : He who loves me should also love Usama. When Allah Messenger ﷺ talked to me about this matter ; I said: My affairs are in your hand. So I set out towards that Masjid and observed prayer along with Allah Messenger ﷺ and I was in the row of the women which was near the row of men. When Allah Messenger ﷺ had finished his prayer; he sat on the pulpit smiling and said: Every worshipper should keep sitting at his place. An angel with a sword in his hand would confront me and would bar my way and there would be angels to guard every passage leading to it; then Allah Messenger ﷺ striking the pulpit with the help of the end of his staff said: This implies Taiba meaning Medina. I Fatima bint Qais said: I preserved it in my mind this narration from Allah Messenger ﷺ. SahihMuslim-017-001-19253
2. Kharasha Bin Hurr reported: I was sitting in a circle in the Masjid of Medina and there was an old man; quite handsome. I came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and narrated it to him. SahihMuslim-017-001-20792
3. Narrated Aisha: When there was said about me what was said which I myself was unaware of; Allah Messenger ﷺ got up and addressed the people. Saad Bin Muadh got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ Allow me to chop their heads off. Then I became sick fever and said to Allah Messenger ﷺ Send me to my father house. She said; yes I asked; Does Allah Messenger ﷺ know about it too? She said; Yes; Allah Messenger ﷺ does too. I went back to my home and Allah Messenger ﷺ had come to my house and asked my maid-servant about me my character. The maid-servant said; By Allah; I do not know of any defect in her character except that she sleeps and let the sheep enter her house and eat her dough. On that; some of the Prophet companions spoke harshly to her and said; Tell the truth to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Next morning my parents came to pay me a visit and they stayed with me till Allah Messenger ﷺ came to me after he had offered the Asr prayer. At that very hour the Divine Inspiration came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and we remained silent.
4. Ibn Umar reported that when a person saw anything in sleep during the lifetime of Allah Messenger may peace he upon him he narrated it to Allah Messenger; and I also had a longing that I should also see in a dream something which I should narrate to Allah Apostle ﷺ and I was at that time an unmarried young man. I was sleeping in the Masjid during the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ tl at I saw in a dream as if two Angels have taken hold of me and they have carried me to the fire; and; lo; it was built like the easing of a well and had two pillars like those of a well; and; lo; there were people in it whom I knew and I cried out: I seek refuge with Allah from Hell-fire; I seek refuge with Allah from Hell-fire. Then another Angel joined the two others; and said unto me: You need not fear I narrated this dream to llafsa and she narrated it to Allah Messenger; whereupon Allah Apostle said: Worthy is this man Abdullah; O that he would pray at night; and Silim added that Abdullah afterwards slept only but for a small part of the night. SahihMuslim-017-001-20779
5. Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet I never remembered my parents believing in any religion other than the true religion i.e. Islam ; and I dont remember a single day passing without our being visited by Allah Messenger ﷺ in the morning and in the evening. At that time the Prophet ﷺ was in Mecca; and he said to the Muslims; In a dream I have been shown your migration place; a land of date palm trees; between two mountains; the two stony tracts. So; some people migrated to Medina; and most of those people who had previously migrated to the land of Ethiopia; returned to Medina. Abu Bakr also prepared to leave for Medina; but Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him; Wait for a while; because I hope that I will be allowed to migrate also. Abu Bakr said; Do you indeed expect this? Let my father be sacrificed for you! The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes. So Abu Bakr did not migrate for the sake of Allah Messenger ﷺ in order to accompany him. He fed two camels he possessed with the leaves of AlSamur tree that fell on being struck by a stick for four months. One day; while we were sitting in Abu Bakr house at noon; someone said to Abu Bakr; This is Allah Messenger ﷺ with his head covered coming at a time at which he never used to visit us before. Abu Bakr said; May my parents be sacrificed for him. By Allah; he has not come at this hour except for a great necessity. So Allah Messenger ﷺ came and asked permission to enter; and he was allowed to enter. When he entered; he said to Abu Bakr. Tell everyone who is present with you to go away. Abu Bakr replied; There are none but your family. May my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The Prophet ﷺ said; i have been given permission to migrate. Abu Bakr said; Shall I accompany you? May my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Yes. Abu Bakr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! May my father be sacrificed for you; take one of these two camels of mine. Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; I will accept it with payment. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr reached a cave on the mountain of Thaur and stayed there for three nights. Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr had hired a man from the tribe of Bani AlDail from the family of Bani Abd Bin Adi as an expert guide; and he was in alliance with the family of AlAs Bin Wail AlSahmi and he was on the religion of the infidels of Quraish. The Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr trusted him and gave him their two camels and took his promise to bring their two she camels to the cave of the mountain of Thaur in the morning after three nights later. And when they set out ; Amir Bin Fuhaira and the guide went along with them and the guide led them along the sea-shore. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3768
6. Narrated Ibrahim: Alaqama went to Sham and came to the Masjid and offered a two-rakat prayer; and invoked Allah: O Allah! Bless me with a pious good companion. So he sat beside Abu AlDarda who asked; From where are you? He said; From the people of Kufa. Abu AlDarda said; Wasnt there among you the person who keeps the secrets of the Prophet ﷺ which nobody knew except him i.e.; Hudhaifa bin AlYaman. And isnt there among you the person whom Allah gave refuge from Satan through the request tongue of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? i.e.; Ammar. Isnt there among you the one who used to carry the Siwak and the cushion or pillows of the Prophets ? i.e.; Ibn Masud. How did Ibn Masud use to recite By the night as it conceals the light ? Surat 92. Alqama said; Wadhdhakari Wal Untha And by male and female. Abu AlDarda added. These people continued to argue with me regarding it till they were about to cause me to have doubts although I heard it from Allah Messenger ﷺ. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1951
7. Anas reported: One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting amongst us that he dozed off. He then raised his head smilingly. We said: What makes you smile. Messenger of Allah? He said: A Surat has just been revealed to me; and then recited: In the name of Allah; the Compassionate; the Merciful. Verily We have given thee Kauthar fount of abundance. Therefore turn to thy Lord for prayer and offer sacrifice; and surely thy enemy is cut off from the good. Then he the Holy Prophet said: Do you know what Kauthar is? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet ﷺ said: It Kauthar is a canal which my Lord; the Exalted and Glorious has promised me; and there is an abundance of good in it. It is a cistern and my people would come to it on the Day of Resurrection; and tumblers there would be equal to the number of stars. A servant would be turned away from among the people gathered there. Upon this I would say: My Lord; he is one of my people; and He the Lord would say: You do not know that he innovated new things in Islam after you. Ibn Hujr made this addition in the hadith: He the Holy Prophet was sitting amongst us in the Masjid; and He Allah said: You dont know what he innovated after you SahihMuslim-017-001-23365
8. Narrated Anas Bin Malik: The night Allah Messenger ﷺ was taken for a journey from the sacred Masjid of Mecca AlKaba: Three persons came to him in a dreamy while he was sleeping in the Sacred Masjid before the Divine Inspiration was revealed to Him. So the dwellers of the Heaven became pleased with his arrival; and they did not know what Allah would do to the Prophet ﷺ on earth unless Allah informed them. The Prophet ﷺ met Adam over the nearest Heaven. Gabriel said to the Prophet; He is your father; greet him. The Prophet ﷺ greeted him and Adam returned his greeting and said; Welcome; O my Son! Then he Gabriel ascended with the Prophet ﷺ to the third Heaven; and the angels said the same as the angels of the first and the second Heavens had said. Then the Prophet ﷺ descended till he met Moses; and then Moses stopped him and asked; O Muhammad ! What did your Lord en join upon you? The Prophet ﷺ replied; He enjoined upon me to perform fifty prayers in a day and a night. Moses said; Your followers cannot do that; Go back so that your Lord may reduce it for you and for them. So the Prophet ﷺ turned to Gabriel as if he wanted to consult him about that issue. The Prophet ﷺ turned towards Gabriel for advice and Gabriel did not disapprove of that. So he ascended with him for the fifth time. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Lord; my followers are weak in their bodies; hearts; hearing and constitution; so lighten our burden. The Prophet ﷺ returned to Moses who asked; What have you done? He said; He has lightened our burden: He has given us for every good deed a tenfold reward. Moses said; By Allah! I tried to make Bani Israel observe less than that; but they gave it up. So go back to your Lord that He may lighten your burden further. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Moses! By Allah; I feel shy of returning too many times to my Lord. On that Gabriel said; Descend in Allah Name. The Prophet ﷺ then woke while he was in the Sacred Masjid at Mecca. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1148
9. Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Abu Talha had the largest number of datepalms from amongst the Ansars of Medina. The dearest of his property to him was Bairuha garden which was facing the Prophets Masjid. Allah Messenger ﷺ used to enter it and drink of its good fresh water. When the Holy Verse:- By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you spend in charity of that which you love. 3.92 was revealed; Abu Talha got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah says: By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you spend of that which you love; and the dearest of my property to me is the Bairuha garden and I want to give it in charity in Allah Cause; seeking to be rewarded by Allah for that. So you can spend it; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; where-ever Allah instructs you. Allah s Apostle said; Good! That is a perishable or profitable wealth Abdullah is in doubt as to which word was used. He said; I have heard what you have said but in my opinion youd better give it to your kith and kin. On that Abu Talha said; I will do so; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Abu Talha distributed that garden among his kith and kin and cousins. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2330
10. Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Allah Messenger ﷺ sat on the pulpit and said; Allah has given one of His Slaves the choice of receiving the splendor and luxury of the worldly life whatever he likes or to accept the good of the Hereafter which is with Allah. So he has chosen that good which is with Allah. On that Abu Bakr wept and said; Our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you. We became astonished at this. The people said; Look at this old man! Allah Messenger ﷺ talks about a Slave of Allah to whom He has given the option to choose either the splendor of this worldly life or the good which is with Him; while he says. our fathers and mothers be sacrifice i for you. But it was Allah Messenger ﷺ who had been given option; and Abu Bakr knew it better than we. Allah Messenger ﷺ added; No doubt; I am indebted to Abu Bakr more than to anybody else regarding both his companionship and his wealth. And if I had to take a Khalil from my followers; I would certainly have taken Abu Bakr; but the fraternity of Islam is. sufficient. Let no door i.e. Khoukha of the Masjid remain open; except the door of Abu Bakr. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3767

1. Narrated Amr Bin Maimun: I saw Umar Bin AlKhattab a few days before he was stabbed in Medina. Receive the glad tidings from Allah to you due to your company with Allah Messenger ﷺ and your superiority in Islam which you know. So when I die; take me; and greet Aisha and say: Umar Bin AlKhattab asks the permission to be buried with the Prophet ﷺ ; and if she gives the permission; bury me there; and if she refuses; then take me to the grave-yard of the Muslims. Umar said; I do not find anyone more suitable for the job than the following persons or group whom Allah Messenger ﷺ had been pleased with before he died. Ali and said; You are related to Allah Messenger ﷺ and one of the earliest Muslims as you know well. 2. Narrated Abdullah Bin Kaab Bin Malik: Who; from among Kaab sons; was the guide of Kaab when he became blind: I heard Kaab Bin Malik narrating the story of the Ghazwa of Tabuk in which he failed to take part. Kaab said; I did not remain behind Allah Messenger ﷺ in any Ghazwa that he fought except the Ghazwa of Tabuk; and I failed to take part in the Ghazwa of Badr; but Allah did not admonish anyone who had not participated in it; for in fact; Allah Messenger ﷺ had gone out in search of the caravan of Quraish till Allah made them i.e. the Muslims and their enemy meet without any appointment. I witnessed the night of AlAqaba pledge with Allah Messenger ﷺ when we pledged for Islam; and I would not exchange it for the Badr battle although the Badr battle is more popular amongst the people than it i.e. AlAqaba pledge. As for my news in this battle of Tabuk ; I had never been stronger or wealthier than I was when I remained behind the Prophet ﷺ in that Ghazwa. By Allah; never had I two camels before; but I had then at the time of this Ghazwa. Whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ wanted to make a Ghazwa; he used to hide his intention by apparently referring to different Ghazwa till it was the time of that Ghazwa of Tabuk which Allah Messenger ﷺ fought in severe heat; facing; a long journey; desert; and the great number of enemy. So the Prophet ﷺ announced to the Muslims clearly their destination so that they might get prepared for their Ghazwa. So he informed them clearly of the destination he was going to. Allah Messenger ﷺ was accompanied by a large number of Muslims who could not be listed in a book namely; a register. Kaab added; Any man who intended to be absent would think that the matter would remain hidden unless Allah revealed it through Divine Revelation. So Allah Messenger ﷺ fought that Ghazwa at the time when the fruits had ripened and the shade looked pleasant. Allah Messenger ﷺ and his companions prepared for the battle and I started to go out in order to get myself ready along with them; but I returned without doing anything. I would say to myself; I can do that. So I kept on delaying it every now and then till the people got ready and Allah Messenger ﷺ and the Muslims along with him departed; and I had not prepared anything for my departure; and I said; I will prepare myself for departure one or two days after him; and then join them. So; after the departure of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; whenever I went out and walked amongst the people i.e; the remaining persons ; it grieved me that I could see none around me; but one accused of hypocrisy or one of those weak men whom Allah had excused. Allah Messenger ﷺ did not remember me till he reached Tabuk. So while he was sitting amongst the people in Tabuk; he said; What did Kaab do? A man from Banu Salama said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He has been stopped by his two Burdas i.e. garments and his looking at his own flanks with pride. Then Muadh Bin Jabal said; What a bad thing you have said! By Allah! O Allahs Apostle! We know nothing about him but good. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept silent. Kaab Bin Malik added; When I heard that he i.e. the Prophet ﷺ was on his way back to Medina. I got dipped in my concern; and began to think of false excuses; saying to myself; How can I avoid his anger tomorrow? And I took the advice of wise member of my family in this matter. When it was said that Allah Messenger ﷺ ; had come near all the evil false excuses abandoned from my mind and I knew well that I could never come out of this problem by forging a false statement. Then I decided firmly to speak the truth. So Allah Messenger ﷺ arrived in the morning; and whenever he returned from a journey.; he used to visit the Masjid first of all and offer a two-rakat prayer therein and then sit for the people. So when he had done all that this time ; those who had failed to join the battle of Tabuk came and started offering false excuses and taking oaths before him. They were something over eighty men; Allah Messenger ﷺ accepted the excuses they had expressed; took their pledge of allegiance asked for Allah Forgiveness for them; and left the secrets of their hearts for Allah to judge. Then I came to him; and when I greeted him; he smiled a smile of an angry person and then said; Come on. So I came walking till I sat before him. He said to me; What stopped you from joining us. Had you not purchased an animal For carrying you? I answered; Yes; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; As regards this man; he has surely told the truth. So get up till Allah decides your case. I got up; and many men of Banu Salama followed me and said to me. By Allah; we never witnessed you doing any sin before this. Surely; you failed to offer excuse to Allah Messenger ﷺ as the others who did not join him; have offered. The prayer of Allah Messenger ﷺ to Allah to forgive you would have been sufficient for you. Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade all the Muslims to talk to us; the three aforesaid persons out of all those who had remained behind in that Ghazwa. So we kept away from the people and they changed their attitude towards us till the very land where I lived appeared strange to me as if I did not know it. We remained in that condition for fifty nights. As regards my two fellows; they remained in their houses and kept on weeping; but I was the youngest of them and the firmest of them; so I used to go out and witness the prayers along with the Muslims and roam about in the markets; but none would talk to me; and I would come to Allah Messenger ﷺ and greet him while he was sitting In his gathering after the prayer; and I would wonder whether the Prophet ﷺ did move his lips in return to my greetings or not. The people began to point me out for him till he came to me and handed me a letter from the king of Ghassan in which the following was written: To proceed; I have been informed that your friend i.e. the Prophet ﷺ has treated you harshly. There came to me the messenger of Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; Allah Messenger ﷺ orders you to keep away from your wife; I said; Should I divorce her; or else! what should I do? He said; No; only keep aloof from her and do not cohabit her. The Prophet ﷺ sent the same message to my two fellows. Then I said to my wife. Go to your parents and remain with them till Allah gives His Verdict in this matter. Kaab added; The wife of Hilal Bin Umaiya came to Apostle and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! On that; some of my family members said to me; Will you also ask Allah Messenger ﷺ to permit your wife to serve you as he has permitted the wife of Hilal Bin Umaiya to serve him? I said; By Allah; I will not ask the permission of Allah Messenger ﷺ regarding her; for I do not know What Allah Messenger ﷺ would say if I asked him to permit her to serve me while I am a young man. Then I remained in that state for ten more nights after that till the period of fifty nights was completed starting from the time when Allah Messenger ﷺ prohibited the people from talking to us. Allah Messenger ﷺ had announced the acceptance of our repentance by Allah when he had offered the Fajr prayer. I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ sitting with the people around him. Talha Bin Ubaidullah swiftly came to me; shook hands with me and congratulated me. By Allah; none of the Muhajirin i.e. Emigrants got up for me except him i.e. Talha ; and I will never forget this for Talha. Kaab added; When I greeted Allah Messenger ﷺ he; his face being bright with joy; said Be happy with the best day that you have got ever since your mother delivered you. Kaab added; I said to the Prophet ﷺ Is this forgiveness from you or from Allah? He said; No; it is from Allah. Whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ became happy; his face would shine as if it were a piece of moon; and we all knew that characteristic of him. When I sat before him; I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Because of the acceptance of my repentance I will give up all my wealth as alms for the Sake of Allah and His Apostle. Allah Apostle said; Keep some of your wealth; as it will be better for you. I said; So I will keep my share from Khaibar with me; and added; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah has saved me for telling the truth; so it is a part of my repentance not to tell but the truth as long as I am alive. By Allah; I do not know anyone of the Muslims whom Allah has helped fortelling the truth more than me. Since I have mentioned that truth to Allah Messenger ﷺ till today; I have never intended to tell a lie. I hope that Allah will also save me from telling lies the rest of my life. So Allah revealed to His Apostle the Verse:- Verily; Allah has forgiven the Prophet; the Muhajirin i.e. Emigrants up to His Saying And be with those who are true in word and deed. 9.117-119 By Allah; Allah has never bestowed upon me; apart from His guiding me to Islam; a Greater blessing than the fact that I did not tell a lie to Allah Messenger ﷺ which would have caused me to perish as those who have told a lie perished; for Allah described those who told lies with the worst description He ever attributed to anybody else. He took their pledge of allegiance and asked Allah to forgive them; but Allah Messenger ﷺ left our case pending till Allah gave His Judgment about it. As for that Allah said :- And to the three He did for give also who remained behind. 9.118 What Allah said in this Verse does not indicate our failure to take part in the Ghazwa; but it refers to the deferment of making a decision by the Prophet ﷺ about our case in contrast to the case of those who had taken an oath before him and he excused them by accepting their excuses. 3. It was narrated from Umar Bin AlKhattab that: He saw a Hullah of Sira silk being offered for sale at the door of the Masjid. SunanAlNasai-017-001-13664
4. Bilal narrated: Allah Messenger said [to me]: Do not say the Tathwib for any prayer except the Fajr prayer.[He said:] There is something on this topic from Abu Mahdhurah.Abu Eisa said: We do not know of the Hadith of Bilal except as a narration of Abu Israil AlMulai. 5. Ibn Shihab reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ made an expedition to Tabuk and he the Holy Prophet had in his mind the idea of threatening the Christians of Arabia in Syria and those of Rome. Ibn Shihab further reported that Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah Bin Kaab informed him that Abdullah Bin Kaab who served as the guide of Kaab Bin Malik as he became blind that he heard Kaab Bin Malik narrate the story of his remaining behind Allah Messenger ﷺ from the Battle of Tabuk. Kaab Bin Malik said: I never remained behind Allah Messenger ﷺ from any expedition which he undertook except the Battle of Tabuk and that of the Battle of Badr. So far as the Battle of Badr is concerned; nobody was blamed for remaining behind as Allah Messenger ﷺ and the Muslims did not set out for attack but for waylaying the caravan of the Quraish; but it was Allah Who made them confront their enemies without their intention to do so. I had the honour to be with Allah Messenger ﷺ on the night of Aqaba when we pledged our allegiance to Islam and it was more dear to me than my participation in the Battle of Badr; although Badr was more popular amongst people as compared with that Tabuk. And this is my story of remaining back from Allah Messenger ﷺ on the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk. Never did I possess means enough and my circumstances more favourable than at the occasion of this expedition. And; by Allah; I had never before this expedition simultaneously in my possession two rides. Allah Messenger ﷺ set out for this expedition in extremely hot season; the journey was long and the land which he and his army had to cover was waterless and he had to confront a large army; so he informed the Muslims about the actual situation they had to face ; so that they should adequately equip themselves for this expedition; and he also told them the destination where he intended to go. And the Muslims who accompanied Allah Messenger ﷺ at that time were large in numbers but there was no proper record of them. Kaab further said: Few were the persons who wanted to absent themselves; and were under the impression that they could easily conceal themselves and thus remain undetected until revelations from Allah; the Exalted and Glorious descended in connection with them. And Allah Messenger ﷺ set out on an expedition when the fruits were ripe and their shadows had been lengthened. I had weakness for them and it was during this season that Allah Messenger ﷺ made preparations and the Muslims too along with them. I also set out in the morning so that I should make preparations along with them but I came back and did nothing and said to myself: I have means enough to make preparations as soon as I like. And I went on doing this postponing my preparations until people were about to depart and it was in the morning that Allah Messenger ﷺ set out and the Muslims too along with him; but I made no preparations. I went early in the morning and came back; but I made no decision. I continued to do so until they the Muslims hastened and covered a good deal of distance. I also made up my mind to march on and to meet them. Would that I had done that but perhaps it was not destined for me. After the departure of Allah Messenger ﷺ as I went out amongst people; I was shocked to find that I did not find anyone like me but people who were labelled as hypocrites or the people whom Allah granted exemption because of their incapacity and Allah Messenger ﷺ took no notice of me until he had reached Tabuk. Allah Messenger ﷺ ; however; kept quiet. It was during that time that he the Holy Prophet saw a person dressed in all white garment shattering the illusion of eye mirage. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: May he be Abu Khaithama and; lo; it was Abu Khaithama AlAnsari and he was that person who contributed a sa of dates and was scoffed at by the hypocrites. Kaab Bin Malik farther said: When this news reached me that Allah Messenger ﷺ was on his way back from Tabuk I was greatly perturbed. I thought of fabricating false stories and asked myself how I would save myself from his anger on the following day. In this connection; I sought the help of every prudent man from amongst the members of my family and when it was said to me that Allah Messenger ﷺ was about to arrive; all the false ideas banished from my mind and I came to the conclusion that nothing could save me but the telling of truth; so I decided to speak the truth and it was in the morning that Allah Messenger ﷺ arrived in Medina. Allah Messenger ﷺ accepted their excuses on the very face of them and accepted their allegiance and sought forgiveness for them and left their secret intentions to Allah; until I presented myself to him. Thereupon; Allah Messenger ﷺ said: This man told the truth; so get up until Allah gives a decision in your case. I stood up and some people of Banu Salama followed me in hot haste; and they said to me: By Allah; we do not know about you that you committed a sin prior to this. You; however; showed inability to put forward an excuse before Allah Messenger ﷺ as those who stayed behind him have put forward excuses. It would have been enough for the forgiveness of your sin that Allah Messenger ﷺ would have sought forgiveness for you. By Allah; they continued to incite me until I thought of going back to Allah Messenger ﷺ and contradict myself. Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade the Nluslims to talk with three of us from amongst those persons who had stayed behind him. I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ as he sat amongst people after the prayer; greeted him and asked myself whether his lips stirred in response to my greetings or not. I said to him: Abu Qatada; I adjure you by Allah; arnt you well aware of the fact that I love Allah and His Messenger ﷺ the most. He kept quiet. I again repeated saying: I adjure you by Allah. arnt you well aware of the fact that I love Allah and His Messenger ﷺ the most. He kept quiet. I again adjured him; whereupon he said: Allah and the Messenger ﷺ are best aware of it. When out of the fifty days; forty days had passed and Allah Messenger ﷺ received no revelation; there came the messenger of Allah Messenger ﷺ to me and said: Verily; Allah Messenger ﷺ has commanded you to remain separate from your wife. I said: Should I divorce her or what else should I do? He said: No; but only remain separate from her and dont have sexual contact with her. The same message was sent to my companions. So I said to my wife: You better go to your parents and stay there with them until Allah gives the decision in my case. The wife of Hilal Bin Umaya came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; Hilal Bin Umaya is a senile person; he has no servant. Do you disapprove of my serving him? He said: No; but dont go near him. She said: By Allah; he has no such instinct in him. By Allah; he spends his time in weeping from that day to this day. Some of the members of my family said to me: Were you to seek permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ in regard to your wife as he has granted permission to the wife of Hilal Bin Umaya to serve him. I said: I would not seek permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ ; for I cannot say what Allah Apostle may say in response to seeking my permission. Allah Messenger ﷺ had informed the people of the acceptance of our repentance by Allah as he offered the dawn prayer. I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and on my way I met groups of people who greeted me because of the acceptance of repentance and they said: Here is a greeting for you for your repentance being accepted by Allah. I moved on until I came to the Masjid and Allah Messenger ﷺ had been sitting there amongst persons. So Talha Bin Ubaidullah got up and rushed towards me and he shook hands with me and greeted me and; by Allah; no person stood up to greet me from amongst the emigrants except he. Kaab said that he never forgot this good gesture of Talha. Kaab further said: I greeted Allah Messenger ﷺ with Assalam-o-Alaikam and his face was glistening because of delight; and he said: Let there be glad tidings and blessings for you; the like of which you have neither found nor you will find; as you find today since your mother gave your birth. I said: Allah Messenger. is this acceptance of repentance from you or from Allah? He said: No; it is not from ma ; it is from Allah; and it was common with Allah Messenger ﷺ that as he was happy his face brightened up and it looked like a part of the moon and it was from this that we recognised it his delight. As I sat before him; I said: Allah Messenger; am I allowed to give in charity my wealth for Allah sake and for the sake of His Messenger ﷺ ? Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Keep some property with you as it is better for you. And since I made a mention of this to Allah Messenger ﷺ up to this day I have not told any lie and; by Allah; I have decided not to tell a lie and I hope that Allah would save me from trials for the rest of my life and Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; revealed these verses: Certainly; Allah has turned in Mercy to the Prophet and the emigrants and the helpers who followed him in the hour of hardship after the hearts of a part of them were about to deviate; then He turned to them in mercy. Surely; to them He is Compassionate; Merciful and He turned in Mercy to the three who were left behind until the earth despite its vastness became strait for them and their souls were also straitened to them. And this revelation reached up to the words : O you who believe; develop God consciousness; and be with the truthful ix. 117-118. Kaab said: By Allah; since Allah directed me to Islam there has been no blessing more significant for me than this truth of mine which I spoke to Allah Messenger ﷺ and if I were to tell a lie I would have been ruined as were ruined those who told lies; for in regard to those who told lies Allah used harshest words used for anyone as He descended revelation and the words of Allah are : They will swear by Allah to you when you retu n to them so that you may leave them alone. So leave them alone. Surely; they are unclean and their resort is Hell; recompense for what they earned. They will swear to you that you may be pleased with them but if you are pleased with them; yet surely Allah is not pleased with the transgressing people ix. 95-96. Kaab said that the matter of us three persons was deferred as compared with those who took an oath in the presence of Allahs Messenger ﷺ and he accepted their allegiance and sought forgiveness for them and Allah did not give any decision in regard to us.
6. Mahmud Bin AlRabi reported that Ibn Bin Malik; who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and who participated in the Battle of Badr and was among the Ansar of Medina ; told that he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; I have lost my eyesight and I lead my people in prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Well; it God so wills. I would soon do so. Itban said: On the following day when the day dawned; the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him came along with Abu Bakr at-Siddiq; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked permission to get into the house. I gave him the permission; and be did not sit after entering the house; when he said: At what place in your house you desire me to say prayer? I Itban Bin Malik said: I pointed to a corner in the house; The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at that place for prayer and pronounced Allah-o-Akbar Allah is the Greatest as an expression for the commencement of prayer. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not say so about him. Dont you see that he utters La ilaha ill-Allah There is no god but Allah and seeks the pleasure of Allah through it? They said: Allah and His Messenger know beet. One among the audience said: We see his inclination and wellwishing for hypocrites only. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ again said: Verily Allah has forbidden the Fire for one who says: There is no god but Allah; thereby seeking Allah pleasure. Ibn Shihab said: I asked Husain Bin Muhammad AlAnsar he was one of the leaders of Banu Salim about the hadith transmitted by Mahmud Bin Rabi and he testified it. SahihMuslim-017-001-24485
7. It is narrated on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I was brought AlBuraq Who is an animal white and long; larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule; who would place his hoof a distance equal to the range of version. Gabriel ﷺ asked the door of heaven to be opened ; and he was asked who he was. He replied Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and I saw Yousif peace of Allah be upon him who had been given half of world beauty. He welcomed me prayed for my well-being. Then he ascended with us to the fourth heaven. Gabriel ﷺ asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? Gabriel ﷺ asked for the door to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I was with Mousa Moses ﷺ He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken up to the seventh heaven. Gabriel asked the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He said: Gabriel It was said. Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I found Ibrahim Abraham ﷺ reclining against the Bait AlMamur and there enter into it seventy thousand angels every day; never to visit this place again. Then I went down to Moses ﷺ and he said: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah?
8. Masruq reported that there came to Abdullah a person and said: I have left behind in the Masjid a man who explains the Quran according to his personal discretion and he explained this verse: So wait for the day when the Heaven brings a clear smoke. The fact is that when the Quraish disobeyed Allah Apostle ﷺ he supplicated Allah that they should be afflicted with famine and starvation as was done in case of Yousif. And they were so much hard pressed that a person would ace the sky and he would see between him and the sky something like smoke and they were so much hard pressed that they began to cat the bones; and a person came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger. seek forgiveness for the tribe of Mudar for its people have been undone. The Messenger ﷺ said: For Mudar? SahihMuslim-017-001-19045
