I mentioned the narration of Abdullah Bin Utba regarding the question of Subaia bint AlHarith. Abdulrahman said; But Abdullah uncle used not to say so. I said; I am too brave if I tell a lie concerning a person who is now in AlKufa; and I raised my voice. Then I went out and met Malik Bin Amir or Malik Bin Auf; and said; What was the verdict of Ibn Masud about the pregnant widow whose husband had died? He replied; Ibn Masud said; Why do you impose on her the hard order and dont let her make use of the leave? The shorter Surat of women i.e. Surat AlTalaq was revealed after the longer Surat i.e. Surat AlBaqara. i.e. Her Idda is up till she delivers.

    Narrated Muhammad Bin Seereen: On a rainy day Ibn Abbas said to his Muadh-dhin; After saying; AlAshhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah I testify that Muhammad is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; do not say Haiya Alas-Prayer come for the prayer but say Pray in your houses. The man did so. But the people disliked it. Ibn Abbas said; It was done by one who was much better than I i.e. the Prophet ﷺ. No doubt; the Jumua prayer is compulsory but I dislike to put you to task by bringing you out walking in mud and slush.

Jabir added; The Prophet ﷺ bought a camel from me for two Uqiyas of gold and one or two Dirhams. When he reached Sirar; he ordered that a cow be slaughtered and they ate its meat. When he arrived at Medina; he ordered me to go to the Masjid and offer two rakat; and weighed and gave me the price of the camel.

    Narrated Muhayisah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If you gain a victory over the men of Jews; kill them. So Muhayisah jumped over Shubaybah; a man of the Jewish merchants. He had close relations with them. He then killed him. At that time Huwayisah brother of Muhayisah had not embraced Islam. He was older than Muhayisah. When he killed him; Huwayisah beat him and said: O enemy of Allah; I swear by Allah; you have a good deal of fat in your belly from his property.

    Narrated Muhayisah: The camel of Bara Ibn Azib entered the garden of a man and did damage to it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave decision that the owners of properties are responsible for guarding them by day; and the owners of animals are responsible for guarding them by night.

    Narrated Mujahi: regarding the Verse :- Those of you who die and leave wives behind. They - their wives - shall wait as regards their marriage for four months and ten days. 2.234 The widow; according to this Verse; was to spend this period of waiting with her husband family; so Allah revealed: Those of you who die and leave wives i.e. widows should bequeath for their wives; a year maintenance and residences without turning them out; but if they leave their residence ; there is no blame on you for what they do with themselves provided it is honorable. i.e. lawful marriage 2.240. So Allah entitled the widow to be bequeathed extra maintenance for seven months and twenty nights; and that is the completion of one year. If she wished she could stay in her husband home according to the will; and she could leave it if she wished; as Allah says:..without turning them out; but if they leave the residence ; there is no blame on you. So the Idda i.e. four months and ten days as it is obligatory for her. Ata said: Ibn Abbas said; This Verse; i.e. the Statement of Allah:..without turning them out.. cancelled the obligation of staying for the waiting period in her dead husband house; and she can complete this period wherever she likes. Ata aid: If she wished; she could complete her Idda by staying in her dead husband residence according to the will or leave it according to Allah Statement:- There is no blame on you for what they do with themselves. Ata added: Later the regulations of inheritance came and abrogated the order of the dwelling of the widow in her dead husband house ; so she could complete the Idda wherever she likes. And it was no longer necessary to provide her with a residence. Ibn Abbas said; This Verse abrogated her i.e. widows dwelling in her dead husband house and she could complete the Idda i.e. four months and ten days wherever she liked; as Allah Statement says:-...without turning them out...

Abdullah said; I can recite more in a month ; and the argument went on till the Prophet ﷺ said; Recite the Quran once each three days. i.e. you must not recite the whole Quran in less than three days.

    Narrated Mujahid: Allah Messenger ﷺ got up on the day of the Conquest of Mecca and said; Allah has made Mecca a sanctuary since the day He created the Heavens and the Earth; and it will remain a sanctuary by virtue of the sanctity Allah has bestowed on it till the Day of Resurrection. It i.e. fighting in it was not made lawful to anyone before me!; nor will it be made lawful to anyone after me; and it was not made lawful for me except for a short period of time. Its game should not be chased; nor should its trees be cut; nor its vegetation or grass uprooted; not its Luqata i.e. Most things picked up except by one who makes a public announcement about it. AlAbbas Bin Abdul Muttalib said; Except the Idhkhir; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; as it is indispensable for blacksmiths and houses. On that; the Prophet ﷺ kept quiet and then said; Except the Idhkhir as it is lawful to cut.

    Narrated Mujahid: Somebody came to the house of Ibn Umar and told him that Allah Messenger ﷺ s had entered the Kaba. Ibn Umar said; I went in front of the Kaba and found that Allah Messenger ﷺ had come out of the Kaba and I saw Bilal standing by the side of the gate of the Kaba. I said; O Bilal! Has Allah Apostle ﷺ prayed inside the Kaba? Bilal replied in the affirmative. I said; Where did he pray ? He replied; He prayed Between these two pillars and then he came out and offered a two rakat prayer in front of the Kaba. Abu Abdullah said: Abu Huraira said; The Prophet ﷺ advised me to offer two rakat of Duha prayer prayer to be offered after sunrise and before midday. Itban bin Malik said; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ and Abu Bakr; came to me after sunrise and we aligned behind the Prophet ﷺ and offered two rakat.

    Narrated Mujahid: Someone came to Ibn Umar and said; Here is Allah Messenger ﷺ entering the Kaba. Ibn Umar said; I went there but the Prophet ﷺ had come out of the Kaba and I found Bilal standing between its two doors. I asked Bilal; Did the Prophet ﷺ pray in the Kaba? Bilal replied; Yes; he prayed two rakat between the two pillars which are to your left on entering the Kaba. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ came out and offered a two-rakat prayer facing the Kaba.

    Narrated Mujahid: Urwa Bin AlZubair and I entered the Masjid of the Prophet and saw Abdullah Bin Umar sitting near the dwelling place of Aisha and some people were offering the Duha prayer. We asked him about their prayer and he replied that it was a heresy. He Urwa then asked him how many times the Prophet ﷺ had performed Umra. He replied; Four times; one of them was in the month of Rajab. We disliked to contradict him. Then we heard Aisha; the Mother of faithful believers cleaning her teeth with Siwak in the dwelling place. Urwa said; O Mother! O Mother of the believers! Dont you hear what Abu Abdulrahman is saying? She said; What does he say? Urwa said; He says that Allah Messenger ﷺ performed four Umra and one of them was in the month of Rajab. Aisha said; May Allah be merciful to Abu Abdulrahman The Prophet ﷺ did not perform any Umra except that he was with him; and he never performed any Umra in Rajab.

    Narrated Mujahid: Urwa and I entered the Masjid and found Abdullah Bin Umar sitting beside the dwelling place of Aisha. Urwa asked Ibn Umar ; How many Umras did the Prophet ﷺ perform? Ibn Umar replied; Four; one of which was in Rajab. Then we heard Aisha brushing her teeth whereupon Urwa said; O mother of the believers! Dont you hear what Abu Abdulrahman is saying? He is saying that the Prophet performed four Umra; one of which was in Rajab. Aisha said; The Prophet ﷺ did not perform any Umra but he i.e. Ibn Umar witnessed it. And he the Prophet ﷺ never did any Umra in the month of Rajab.

    Narrated Mujahid: We were with Ibn Abbas and the people mentioned AlDajjal. Someone said; The word Kafir unbeliever is written in between his AlDajjals eyes. Ibn Abbas said; I have not heard the Prophet saying this; but he said; As regards Abraham; he looks like your companion i.e. the Prophet; Muhammad ; and as regards Moses; he is a brown curly haired man riding a camel and reigned with a strong jute rope; as if I am now looking at him getting down in the valley and saying; Labbaik.

So Allah; Blessed and Most High; revealed: And wish not for things in which Allah has made some of you excell over others... 4:32 Mujahid said: And the following was revealed about that: Verily the Muslim men and the Muslim women... 33:35. And Umm Salamah was the first camel-borne woman to arrive in AlMadinah as an emigrant.

But the widow has the right to stay that extra period or go out of her husband house as is indicated by the statement of Allah: But if they leave there is no blame on you;... 2.240 Ibn Abbas said: The above Verse has cancelled the order of spending the period of the Iddah at her late husband house; and so she could spend her period of the Iddah wherever she likes. And Allah says: Without turning them out. Ata said: If she would; she could spend her period of the Iddah at her husband house; and live there according to her husbands will and testament; and if she would; she could go out of her husband house as Allah says: There is no blame on you for what they do of themselves. 2.240 Ata added: Then the Verses of inheritance were revealed and the order of residence for the widow was cancelled; and she could spend her period of the Iddah wherever she would like; and she was no longer entitled to be accommodated by her husband family.

This Ayah was revealed referring to my case: And whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment on his scalp necessitating shaving he must pay Fidyah of either fasting or giving charity; or a sacrifice. 2:196 He said: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at AlHudaibiyah and we were in a state of Ihram. The idolaters had held us back; and I had a good deal of hair; and the lice were falling on my face. The Prophet ﷺ passed by me and said: The lice on your head are bothering you? He said: I said: Yes. He said: Then shave. And this Ayah was revealed. Mujahid said: The fasting is for three days; the feeding is six needy people; and the sacrifice is a sheep or more.

    Narrated Mujammi Ibn Jariyah AlAnsari: Mujammi was one of the Quran-reciters qaris ; and he said: We were present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at AlHudaybiyah. When we returned; the people were driving their camels quickly. The people said to one another: What is the matter with them? They said: Revelation has come down to the Prophet ﷺ. We also proceeded with the people; galloping our camels. We found the Prophet ﷺ standing on his riding-animal at Kura AlGhamim. When the people gathered near him; he recited: Verily We have granted thee a manifest victory. A man asked: Is this a victory; Messenger of Allah? He replied: Yes. By Him in Whose hands the soul of Muhammad is; this is a victory. Khaybar was divided among those who had been at AlHudaybiyah; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided it into eighteen portions. The army consisted of one thousand five hundred men; of which three hundred were cavalry; and he gave two shares to a horseman and one to a foot-soldier.Abu Dawud said: Abu Muawiyah tradition is sounder; and it is one which is followed. I think the error is in the tradition of Mujammi; because he said: three hundred horsemen. when there were only two hundred.

    Narrated Mujashi: My brother and I came to the Prophet ﷺ and I requested him to take the pledge of allegiance from us for migration. He said; Migration has passed away with its people. I asked; For what will you take the pledge of allegiance from us then? He said; I will take the pledge for Islam and Jihad.

    Narrated Mujjaah Ibn Mirarah AlYamani: Mujjaah went to the Prophet ﷺ asking him for the blood-money of his brother whom Banu Sadus from Banu Dhuhl had killed. The Prophet ﷺ said: Had I appointed blood-money for a polytheist; I should have appointed it for your brother. But I shall give you compensation for him. So the Prophet ﷺ wrote a document for him that he should be given a hundred camels which were to be acquired from the fifth taken from the polytheists of Banu Dhuhl. So he took a part of them; for Banu Dhuhl embraced Islam. He then asked Abu Bakr for them later on; and brought to him the document of the Prophet ﷺ. So Abu Bakr wrote for him that he should be given one thousand two hundred sa from the sadaqah of AlYamamah; four thousand sas of wheat; four thousand sas of barley; and four thousand sas of dates. The text of the document written by the Prophet ﷺ for Mujjaah was as follows: In the name of Allah; the Beneficent; the Merciful. This document is from Muhammad; the Prophet; to Mujjaah Ibn Mirarah of Banu Sulma. I have given him one hundred camels from the first fifth acquired from the polytheist of Banu Dhuhl as a compensation for his brother.

    Narrated Muslim Bin Yasar AlJuhani: that Umar Bin AlKhattab was asked about this Ayah: And when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam; from their loins; their seed and made them testify as to themselves: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes! We testify; lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: Verily; we have been unaware of this 7:172. So Umar Bin AlKhattab said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being asked about it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed Allah created Adam; then He wiped his back with His Right Hand; and his offspring came out of him. So he said: I created these for Paradise; and they will do the deeds of the people of Paradise. Then He wiped his back; and his offspring came out of him. So He said: I created these for the Fire; and they will do the deeds of the people of the Fire. A man said: Then of what good is doing deeds O Messenger of Allah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Verily; when Allah created a man for Paradise; He makes him perform the deeds of the people of Paradise; until he dies doing one of the deeds of the people of Paradise. So Allah will admit him into Paradise. And when He created a man for the Fire; He makes him perform the deeds of the people of the Fire until he dies doing the deeds of the people of the Fire. So Allah will enter him into the Fire.
