SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1957 | Narrated Aisha: Mother of the Believers: We; the wives of the Prophet ﷺ were all sitting with the Prophet ﷺ and none of us had left when Fatima came walking; and by Allah; her gait was very similar to that of Allah Messenger ﷺ. When he saw her; he welcomed her; saying; Welcome; O my daughter! Then he made her sit on his right or his left; confided something to her; whereupon she wept bitterly. When he noticed her sorrow; he confided something else to her for the second time; and she started laughing. Only I from among the Prophet wives said to her; O Fatima ; Allah Messenger ﷺ selected you from among us for the secret talk and still you weep? When Allah Messenger ﷺ got up and went away ; I asked her; What did he confide to you? She said; I wouldnt disclose the secrets of Allah Messenger ﷺ But when he died I asked her; I beseech you earnestly by what right I have on you; to tell me that secret talk which the Prophet had with you She said; As you ask me now; yes; I will tell you. She informed me; saying; When he talked to me secretly the first time; he said that Gabriel used to review the Quran with him once every year. He added; But this year he reviewed it with me twice; and therefore I think that my time of death has approached. So; be afraid of Allah; and be patient; for I am the best predecessor for you in the Hereafter. Fatima added; So I wept as you Aisha witnessed. And when the Prophet ﷺ saw me in this sorrowful state; he confided the second secret to me saying; O Fatima! Will you not be pleased that you will be chief of all the believing women or chief of the women of this nation i.e. my followers? | The Chapter on Fragrances And Mother And Daughters in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Confidential talk with somebody in front of the people in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-243 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Umar: Saad Bin Ubada became sick and the Prophet ﷺ along with Abdulrahman Bin Auf; Saad Bin Abi Waqqas and Abdullah Bin Masud visited him to inquire about his health. When he came to him; he found him surrounded by his household and he asked; Has he died? They said; No; O Allah Apostle. The Prophet ﷺ wept and when the people saw the weeping of Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ they all wept. He said; Will you listen? Allah does not punish for shedding tears; nor for the grief of the heart but he punishes or bestows His Mercy because of this. He pointed to his tongue and added; The deceased is punished for the wailing of his relatives over him. Umar used to beat with a stick and throw stones and put dust over the faces of those who used to wail over the dead. | The Chapter on Fragrances And Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To weep near a patient in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2592 | Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet that she was told that Abdullah Bin AlZubair on hearing that she was selling or giving something as a gift said; By Allah; if Aisha does not give up this; I will declare her incompetent to dispose of her wealth. I said; Did he Abdullah Bin AlZubair say so? They people said; Yes. Aisha said; I vow to Allah that I will never speak to Ibn AlZubair. When this desertion lasted long; Abdullah Bin AlZubair sought intercession with her; but she said; By Allah; I will not accept the intercession of anyone for him; and will not commit a sin by breaking my vow. When this state of affairs was prolonged on Ibn AlZubair he felt it hard on him ; he said to AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Abdulrahman Bin AlAswad Bin Abu Yaghuth; who were from the tribe of Bani Zahra; I beseech you; by Allah; to let me enter upon Aisha; for it is unlawful for her to vow to cut the relation with me. So AlMiswar and Abdulrahman wrapping their sheets around themselves; asked Aisha permission saying; Peace and Allah Mercy and Blessings be upon you! Shall we come in? Aisha said; Come in. They said; All of us? She said; Yes; come in all of you; not knowing that Ibn AlZubair was also with them. So when they entered; Ibn AlZubair entered the screened place and got hold of Aisha and started requesting her to excuse him; and wept. AlMiswar and Abdulrahman also started requesting her to speak to him and to accept his repentance. They said to her ; The Prophet ﷺ forbade what you know of deserting not speaking to your Muslim Brethren ; for it is unlawful for any Muslim not to talk to his brother for more than three nights days. So when they increased their reminding her of the superiority of having good relation with Kith and kin; and of excusing others sins ; and brought her down to a critical situation; she started reminding them; and wept; saying; I have made a vow; and the question of vow is a difficult one. They AlMiswar and Abdulrahman persisted in their appeal till she spoke with Abdullah Bin AlZubair and she manumitted forty slaves as an expiation for her vow. Later on; whenever she remembered her vow; she used to weep so much that her veil used to become wet with her tears. | The Chapter on Obligations Towards Expiatory in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlHijra in Sahih AlBukhari

When I asked her about that; she replied; The Prophet ﷺ spoke to me in secret and informed me that he would die in the course of the illness during which he died; so I wept. It was Allah Messenger ﷺ who had been given the choice and Abu Bakr knew it better than us; and Allah Messenger ﷺ is reported to have said: Behold; of all people the most generous toward me in regard to his companionship and his property was Abu Bakr and were I to choose anyone as my bosom friend; I would have chosen Abu Bakr as my dear friend; but for him I cherish Islamic brotherliness and love. When he talked to me secretly for the first time he informed me that Gabirel was in the habit of reciting the Quran along with him once or twice every year; but this year it had been twice and so he perceived his death quite near; so fear Allah and be patient and he told me that he would be a befitting forerunner for me and so I wept as you saw me.
