- Narrated Urwa Bin AlZubair: AlZubair told me that he quarreled with an Ansari man who had participated in the battle of Badr in front of Allah Messenger ﷺ about a water stream which both of them used for irrigation. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to AlZubair; O Zubair! Irrigate your garden first; and then let the water flow to your neighbor. The Ansari became angry and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is it because he is your cousin? On that the complexion of Allah Messenger ﷺ changed because of anger and said to AlZubair ; I irrigate your garden and then withhold the water till it reaches the walls surrounding the palms. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ gave AlZubair his full right. Before that Allah Messenger ﷺ had given a generous judgment beneficial for AlZubair and the Ansari; but when the Ansan irritated Allah Messenger ﷺ he gave AlZubair his full right according to the evident law. AlZubair said; By Allah ! I think the following Verse was revealed concerning that case: But no by your Lord They can have No faith Until they make you judge In all disputes between them. 4.65 SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4883
- Urwa Bin AlZubair reported that Abdullah Bin AlZubair had narrated to him that a person from the Ansar disputed with AlZubair in the presence of Allah Messenger ﷺ in regard to the watering places of Harra from which they watered the date-palms. The Ansari said: Let the water flow; but he AlZubair refused to do this and the dispute was brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ and he said to Zubair: Zubair; water your date-palms ; then let the water flow to your neighbor. The Ansari was enraged and said: Allah Messenger; you have given this decision for he is the son of your father sister. The face of Allah Apostle ﷺ underwent a change; and then said: Zubair; water your date-palms ; then hold it until it rises up to the walls. AlZubair said: I think; by Allah; that this verse: Nay; by the Lord; they will not really believe until they make thee a judge of what is in dispute among them; and find in this no dislike of what thou decidest and submit with full submission iv. 65. SahihMuslim-017-001-20118
- It was narrated from AlZubair Bin AlAwam that: He disputed with a man among Ansar who had been present at Badr with the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL; concerning a stream in AlHarrah from which they both used to water their date palm trees. The Ansari said: Let the water flow. But he AlZubair refused. The Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL said: Irrigate your land ; O Zubair! Then let the water flow to your neighbor. The Ansari became angry and said; O Messenger of Allah; is it because he is your cousin? The face of the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL changed color because of anger and he said: O Zubair! Irrigate your land then block the water; until it flows back to the walls. So the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL allowed AlZubair to take his rights in full; although before that he had suggested to AlZubair a middle way that benefited both him and the Ansari. But when the Ansari made the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL angry; he gave AlZubair his rights in full; as stated clearly in his ruling. AlZubair said: I think that this Verse was revealed concerning this matter: But no; by your Lord; they can have no faith; until they make you O Muhammad judge in all disputes between them. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12427
- Narrated AlZuhri: Regarding the above narration; The Prophet ﷺ said; I do not know what Allah will do to him Uthman Bin Madhoun. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1639
- Narrated Urwa Bin AlZubair: An Ansari man quarreled with AlZubair about a canal in the Harra which was used for irrigating date-palms. Allah Messenger ﷺ ; ordering AlZubair to be moderate; said; O Zubair! Irrigate your land first and then leave the water for your neighbor. The Ansari said; Is it because he is your aunt son? On that the color of the face of Allah Messenger ﷺ changed and he said; O Zubair! Irrigate your land and withhold the water till it reaches the walls that are between the pits around the trees. So; Allah Apostle gave AlZubair his full right. AlZubair said; By Allah; the following verse was revealed in that connection: But no; by your Lord They can have No faith Until they make you judge In all disputes between them. 4.65 The sub-narrator; Ibn Shihab said to Juraij another sub-narrator ; The Ansar and the other people interpreted the saying of the Prophet; Irrigate your land and withhold the water till it reaches the walls between the pits around the trees; as meaning up to the ankles. Irrigate your land then let the water pass to you neighbor. The Ansari became angry and said:[O Messenger of Allah!] Is this because he is your aunt son? The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed color. Then he said: O Zubair! Irrigate your land and then withhold the water until it reaches the walls. AlZubair said: By Allah! I think that this Ayah was revealed about that: But no; by your Lord; they can have no Faith until they make you O Muhammad judge in all disputes between them; and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions and accept them with full submission. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-7480

The Prophet ﷺ had previously given a order that was in favor of both of them AlZubair said; I dont think but the Verse was revealed in this connection: But no; by your Lord; they can have no faith; until they make you judge in all disputes between them. 4.65 SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6899
