2. Narrated Jabir: Some men had superfluous land and they said that they would give it to others to cultivate on the condition that they would get one-third or one-fourth or one half of its yield. The Prophet ﷺ said; Whoever has land should cultivate it himself or give it to his brother or keep it uncultivated. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4816

Narrated Qaylah bint Makhramah: Abdullah IbnHassan AlAnbari said: My grandmothers; Safiyah and Duhaybah; narrated to me; that hey were the daughters of Ulaybah and were nourished by Qaylah; daughter of Makhramah. She was the grandmother of their father. She reported to them; saying: We came upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My companion; Hurayth Ibn Hassan; came to him as a delegate from Bakr Ibn Wail. He took the oath of allegiance of Islam for himself and for his people. He then said: Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; write a document for us; giving us the land lying between us and Banu Tamim at AlDahna to the effect that not one of them will cross it in our direction except a traveller or a passer-by. He said: Write down AlDahna for them; boy. When I saw that he passed orders to give it to him; I became anxious; for it was my native land and my home. I said: Messenger of Allah; he did not ask you for a true border when he asked you. This land of Dahna is a place where the camels have their home; and it is a pasture for the sheep. The women of Banu Tamim and their children are beyond it. He said: Stop; boy! A poor woman spoke the truth: a Muslim is a brother of a Muslim. Each one of them may benefit from water and trees; and they should cooperate with each other against Satan. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29341
4. Abu Saeed AlKhudri reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: There was a person before you who had killed ninety-nine persons and then made an inquiry about the learned persons of the world who could show him the way to salvation. He was directed to a monk. He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: No. He killed him also and thus completed one hundred. He then asked about the learned persons of the earth and he was directed to a scholar; and he told him that he had killed one hundred persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: Yes; what stands between you and the repentance? You better go to such and such land; there are people devoted to prayer and worship and you also worship along with them and do not come to the land of yours since it was an evil land for you. So he went away and he had hardly covered half the distance when death came to him and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment. The angels of mercy said: This man has come as a penitant and remorseful to Allah and the angels of punishment said: He has done no good at all. Then there came another angel in the form of a human being in order to decide between them. He said: You measure the land to which he has drawn near. They measured it and found him nearer to the land where he intended to go the land of piety ; and so the angels of mercy took possession of it. Qatada said thatHassan told him that it was said to them that as death approached him; he crawled upon his chest and managed to slip in the land of mercy. SahihMuslim-017-001-19373

Jabir Bin Abdullah reported: We used to cultivate land on rent during the lifetime of Allah Apostle ﷺ and we got a share out of the grain left in the ears after threshing them and something unspecified. Allah Messenger ﷺ said: He who has land should cultivate it or let his brother till it; otherwise he should leave it. SahihMuslim-017-001-21344
6. Rafi Bin Khadeej Allah be pleased with him reported: We used to give on rent land during the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ. We rented it on the share of one-third or one-fourth of the produce along with a definite quantity of corn. One day a person from among my uncles came to us and said: Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade us this act which was a source of benefit to us; but the obedience to Allah and to His Messenger ﷺ is more beneficial to us. He forbade us that we should rent land with one-third or one-fourth of the produce and the corn of a measure; and he commanded the owner of land that he should cultivate it or let it be cultivated by other persons but he showed disapproval of renting it or anything besides it. 7. Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet that she asked Allah Messenger ﷺ about plague; and Allah Messenger ﷺ informed her saying; Plague was a punishment which Allah used to send on whom He wished; but Allah made it a blessing for the believers. None among the believers remains patient in a land in which plague has broken out and considers that nothing will befall him except what Allah has ordained for him; but that Allah will grant him a reward similar to that of a martyr. Narrated Abu Mousa: The Prophet ﷺ said; The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth; some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. And another portion of it was hard and held the rain water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking; making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation. And a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation then that land gave no benefits. The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah religion and gets benefit from the knowledge which Allah has revealed through me the Prophets and learns and then teaches others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allah guidance revealed through me He is like that barren land. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6135
