SahihAlBukhari-017-001-242 | Narrated Anas Bin Malik: We went with Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ to the blacksmith Abu Saif; and he was the husband of the wet-nurse of Ibrahim the son of the Prophet. Allah Messenger ﷺ took Ibrahim and kissed him and smelled him and later we entered Abu Saif house and at that time Ibrahim was in his last breaths; and the eyes of Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ started shedding tears. Abdulrahman Bin Auf said; O Allah Apostle; even you are weeping! He said; O Ibn Auf; this is mercy. Then he wept more and said; The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved; and we will not say except what pleases our Lord; O Ibrahim ! Indeed we are grieved by your separation. | The Chapter on Mercy Children And Satan in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The saying of the Prophet pbuh Indeed we are grieved by your separation in Sahih AlBukhari | |
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6880 | Narrated Usama Bin Zaid: Allah Messenger ﷺ rode a donkey; equipped with a thick cloth-covering made in Fadak and was riding behind him. He was going to pay visit to Saad Bin Ubada in Banu AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj; and this incident happened before the battle of Badr. The Prophet ﷺ passed by a gathering in which Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul was present; and that was before Abdullah Bin Ubai embraced Islam. Behold in that gathering there were people of different religions: there were Muslims; pagans; idol-worshippers and Jews; and in that gathering Abdullah Bin Rawaha was also present. When a cloud of dust raised by the donkey reached that gathering; Abdullah Bin Ubai covered his nose with his garment and then said; Do not cover us with dust. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ greeted them and stopped and dismounted and invited them to Allah i.e. to embrace Islam and recited to them the Holy Quran. On that; Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Saluil said; O man ! There is nothing better than that what you say. If it is the truth; then do not trouble us with it in our gatherings. Return to your mount or residence and if somebody comes to you; relate your tales to him. On that Abdullah Bin Rawaha said; Yes; O Allah Apostle! Bring it i.e. what you want to say to us in our gathering; for we love that. So the Muslims; the pagans and the Jews started abusing one another till they were on the point of fighting with one another. The Prophet ﷺ kept on quietening them till they became quiet; whereupon the Prophet rode his animal mount and proceeded till he entered upon Saad Bin Ubada. The Prophet ﷺ said to Sad; Did you not hear what Abu Hub-b said? He meant Abdullah Bin Ubai. He said so-andso. On that Saad Bin Ubada said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Excuse and forgive him; for by Him Who revealed the Book to you; Allah brought the Truth which was sent to you at the time when the people of this town i.e. Medina had decided unanimously to crown him and tie a turban on his head electing him as chief. But when Allah opposed that decision through the Truth which Allah gave to you; he i.e. Abdullah Bin Ubai was grieved with jealously. and that caused him to do what you have seen. So Allah Messenger ﷺ excused him; for the Prophet ﷺ and his companions used to forgive the pagans and the people of Scripture as Allah had ordered them; and they used to put up with their mischief with patience. Allah said: And you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you and from the pagans........ 3.186 And Allah also said:-Many of the people of the Scripture wish if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed; from selfish envy.. 2.109 So the Prophet ﷺ used to stick to the principle of forgiveness for them as long as Allah ordered him to do so till Allah permitted fighting them. So when Allah Messenger ﷺ fought the battle of Badr and Allah killed the nobles of Quraish infidels through him; Ibn Ubai Bin Salul and the pagans and idolaters who were with him; said; This matter i.e. Islam has appeared i.e. became victorious. So they gave the pledge of allegiance for embracing Islam to Allah Messenger ﷺ and became Muslims. | The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari |

MuwataMalik-017-001-35652 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said that AlQasim Ibn Muhammad said; One of my wives died and Muhammad Ibn Kaab AlQuradhi came to console me about her. He told me of one among the Bani Israil who was a diligent; worshipping; knowing and understanding man who had a wife that he admired and loved; and she died. He grieved over her intensely and lamented her until he withdrew into a house and locked himself in; hidden from everyone; and no-one visited him. A woman heard about him and went to him; saying; I need him to give me an opinion. Nothing will satisfy me except what he says about it. Everyone went away; but she stuck to his door and said; I must see him. Someone said to him; There is a woman who wishes to ask your opinion about something; and she insisted; I will only talk to him about it. When everyone had gone away; and she still had not left his door; he said; Let her in. So she went in and saw him and said; I have come to ask your opinion about something. He said; What is it? She said; I borrowed a piece of jewellery from a neighbour of mine; and I have worn it and used it for a long time. Then they sent to me for it. Should I let them have it back? He said; Yes; by Allah. She said; I have had it for a long time. He said; It is more correct for you to return it to them; since they have lent it to you for such a long time. She said; Yes. May Allah have mercy on you. Do you then grieve over what Allah has lent you and then taken from you; when He has a greater right to it than you? Then he saw the situation he was in; and Allah helped him by her words. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And Grieve in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik |
