SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3846 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; The tribe of Quraish has precedence over the people in this connection i.e the right of ruling. The Muslims follow the Muslims amongst them; and the infidels follow the infidels amongst them. People are of different natures: The best amongst them in the pre-lslamic period are the best in Islam provided they comprehend the religious knowledge. You will find that the best amongst the people in this respect i.e. of ruling is he who hates it i.e. the idea of ruling most; till he is given the pledge of allegiance. | The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Statement of Allah Taala O mankind We have created you from a male and female in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4046 | Narrated Anas Bin Malik: When Allah favored His Apostle with the properties of Hawazin tribe as Fai booty ; he started giving to some Quarries men even up to one-hundred camels each; whereupon some Ansari men said about Allah Messenger ﷺ ; May Allah forgive His Apostle! He is giving to men of Quraish and leaves us; in spite of the fact that our swords are still dropping blood of the infidels When Allah Messenger ﷺ was informed of what they had said; he called the Ansar and gathered them in a leather tent and did not call anybody else along; with them. When they gathered; Allah Messenger ﷺ came to them and said; What is the statement which; I have been informed; and that which you have said? The learned ones among them replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The wise ones amongst us did not say anything; but the youngsters amongst us said; May Allah forgive His Apostle; he gives the Quarish and leaves the Ansar; in spite of the fact that our swords are still dribbling wet with the blood of the infidels. Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; I give to such people as are still close to the period of Infidelity i.e. they have recently embraced Islam and Faith is still weak in their hearts. Wont you be pleased to see people go with fortune; while you return with Allah Messenger ﷺ to your houses? By Allah; what you will return with; is better than what they are returning with. The Ansar replied; Yes; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; we are satisfied Then the Prophet ﷺ said to them. You will find after me; others being preferred to you. Then be patient till you meet Allah and meet His Apostle at AlKauthar i.e. a fount in Paradise. Anas added: But we did not remain patient. | The Chapter on Alansar And Muhajirin in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What the Prophet used to give to those Muslims whose faith was not so firm in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4117 | Narrated AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Marwan: whose narrations attest each other Allah Messenger ﷺ set out at the time of AlHudaibiya treaty ; and when they proceeded for a distance; he said; Khalid Bin AlWalid leading the cavalry of Quraish constituting the front of the army; is at a place called AlGhamim; so take the way on the right. By Allah; Khalid did not perceive the arrival of the Muslims till the dust arising from the march of the Muslim army reached him; and then he turned back hurriedly to inform Quraish. The Prophet ﷺ went on advancing till he reached the Thaniya i.e. a mountainous way through which one would go to them i.e. people of Quraish. The camel of the Prophet ﷺ sat down. The people tried their best to cause the camel to get up but in vain; so they said; AlQaswa i.e. the camel name has become stubborn! AlQaswa has become stubborn! The Prophet ﷺ said; AlQaswa has not become stubborn; for stubbornness is not her habit; but she was stopped by Him Who stopped the elephant. Then he said; By the Name of Him in Whose Hands my soul is; if they i.e. the Quraish infidels ask me anything which will respect the ordinances of Allah; I will grant it to them. The Prophet ﷺ then rebuked the camel and she got up. The Prophet ﷺ changed his way till he dismounted at the farthest end of AlHudaibiya at a pit i.e. well containing a little water which the people used in small amounts; and in a short while the people used up all its water and complained to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; of thirst. The Prophet ﷺ took an arrow out of his arrow-case and ordered them to put the arrow in that pit. By Allah; the water started and continued sprouting out till all the people quenched their thirst and returned with satisfaction. While they were still in that state; Budail Bin Warqa AlKhuzai came with some persons from his tribe Khuzaa and they were the advisers of Allah Messenger ﷺ who would keep no secret from him and were from the people of Tihama. Budail said; I left Kaab Bin Louai and Amir Bin Louai residing at the profuse water of AlHudaibiya and they had milch camels or their women and children with them; and will wage war against you; and will prevent you from visiting the Kaba. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; We have not come to fight anyone; but to perform the Umra. No doubt; the war has weakened Quraish and they have suffered great losses; so if they wish; I will conclude a truce with them; during which they should refrain from interfering between me and the people i.e. the Arab infidels other than Quraish ; and if I have victory over those infidels; Quraish will have the option to embrace Islam as the other people do; if they wish; they will at least get strong enough to fight. But if they do not accept the truce; by Allah in Whose Hands my life is; I will fight with them defending my Cause till I get killed; but I am sure Allah will definitely make His Cause victorious. Budail said; I will inform them of what you have said. So; he set off till he reached Quraish and said; We have come from that man i.e. Muhammad whom we heard saying something which we will disclose to you if you should like. Some of the fools among Quraish shouted that they were not in need of this information; but the wiser among them said; Relate what you heard him saying. Budail said; I heard him saying so-and-so; relating what the Prophet ﷺ had told him. Urwa Bin Masud got up and said; O people! Arent you the sons? They said; Yes. He added; Am I not the father? They said; Yes. He said; Do you mistrust me? They said; No. He said; Dont you know that I invited the people of Ukaz for your help; and when they refused I brought my relatives and children and those who obeyed me to help you ? They said; Yes. He said; Well; this man i.e. the Prophet has offered you a reasonable proposal; youd better accept it and allow me to meet him. They said; You may meet him. So; he went to the Prophet ﷺ and started talking to him. The Prophet ﷺ told him almost the same as he had told Budail. Then Urwa said; O Muhammad! Wont you feel any scruple in extirpating your relations? Have you ever heard of anyone amongst the Arabs extirpating his relatives before you? On the other hand; if the reverse should happen; nobody will aid you; for by Allah; I do not see with you dignified people; but people from various tribes who would run away leaving you alone. Hearing that; Abu Bakr abused him and said; Do you say we would run and leave the Prophet ﷺ alone? Urwa said; Who is that man? They said; He is Abu Bakr. Urwa said to Abu Bakr; By Him in Whose Hands my life is; were it not for the favor which you did to me and which I did not compensate; I would retort on you. Urwa kept on talking to the Prophet ﷺ and seizing the Prophet beard as he was talking while AlMughira Bin Shuba was standing near the head of the Prophet; holding a sword and wearing a helmet. Whenever Urwa stretched his hand towards the beard of the Prophet; AlMughira would hit his hand with the handle of the sword and say to Urwa ; Remove your hand from the beard of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Urwa raised his head and asked; Who is that? The people said; He is AlMughira Bin Shuba. Urwa said; O treacherous! Am I not doing my best to prevent evil consequences of your treachery? Before embracing Islam AlMughira was in the company of some people. He killed them and took their property and came to Medina to embrace Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said to him; As regards your Islam; I accept it; but as for the property I do not take anything of it. As it was taken through treason. Urwa then started looking at the Companions of the Prophet. By Allah; whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ spat; the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them i.e. the Prophet companions who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them they would carry his orders immediately; if he performed ablution; they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they spoke to him; they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect. Urwa returned to his people and said; O people! By Allah; I have been to the kings and to Caesar; Khosrau and AlNajashi; yet I have never seen any of them respected by his courtiers as much as Muhammad is respected by his companions. By Allah; if he spat; the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them i.e. the Prophet companions who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them; they would carry out his order immediately; if he performed ablution; they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they spoke; they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect. Urwa added; No doubt; he has presented to you a good reasonable offer; so please accept it. A man from the tribe of Bani Kinana said; Allow me to go to him; and they allowed him; and when he approached the Prophet and his companions; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He is so-and-so who belongs to the tribe that respects the Budn i.e. camels of the sacrifice. So; bring the Budn in front of him. So; the Budn were brought before him and the people received him while they were reciting Talbiya. When he saw that scene; he said; Glorified be Allah! It is not fair to prevent these people from visiting the Kaba. When he returned to his people; he said; I saw the Budn garlanded with colored knotted ropes and marked with stabs on their backs. I do not think it is advisable to prevent them from visiting the Kaba. Another person called Mikraz Bin Hafs got up and sought their permission to go to Muhammad; and they allowed him; too. When he approached the Muslims; the Prophet ﷺ said; Here is Mikraz and he is a vicious man. Mikraz started talking to the Prophet and as he was talking; Suhail Bin Amr came. When Suhail Bin Amr came; the Prophet ﷺ said; Now the matter has become easy. Suhail said to the Prophet Please conclude a peace treaty with us. So; the Prophet ﷺ called the clerk and said to him; Write: By the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful. Suhail said; As for Beneficent; by Allah; I do not know what it means. So write: By Your Name O Allah; as you used to write previously. The Muslims said; By Allah; we will not write except: By the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful. The Prophet ﷺ said; Write: By Your Name O Allah. Then he dictated; This is the peace treaty which Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ has concluded. Suhail said; By Allah; if we knew that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ we would not prevent you from visiting the Kaba; and would not fight with you. So; write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. The Prophet ﷺ said; By Allah! I am Apostle of Allah even if you people do not believe me. Write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. AlZuhri said; The Prophet ﷺ accepted all those things; as he had already said that he would accept everything they would demand if it respects the ordinance of Allah; i.e. by letting him and his companions perform Umra. The Prophet ﷺ said to Suhail; On the condition that you allow us to visit the House i.e. Kaba so that we may perform Tawaf around it. Suhail said; By Allah; we will not allow you this year so as not to give chance to the Arabs to say that we have yielded to you; but we will allow you next year. So; the Prophet ﷺ got that written. Then Suhail said; We also stipulate that you should return to us whoever comes to you from us; even if he embraced your religion. The Muslims said; Glorified be Allah! How will such a person be returned to the pagans after he has become a Muslim? While they were in this state Abu Jandal Bin Suhail Bin Amr came from the valley of Mecca staggering with his fetters and fell down amongst the Muslims. Suhail said; O Muhammad! This is the very first term with which we make peace with you; i.e. you shall return Abu Jandal to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; The peace treaty has not been written yet. Suhail said; I will never allow you to keep him. The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; do. He said; I wont do.: Mikraz said; We allow you to keep him. Abu Jandal said; O Muslims! Will I be returned to the pagans though I have come as a Muslim? Dont you see how much I have suffered? continued... continuing... 1 : -3.891:...... Abu Jandal had been tortured severely for the Cause of Allah. Umar Bin AlKhattab said; I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Arent you truly the Messenger of Allah? The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; indeed. I said; Isnt our Cause just and the cause of the enemy unjust? He said; Yes. I said; Then why should we be humble in our religion? He said; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and I do not disobey Him; and He will make me victorious. I said; Didnt you tell us that we would go to the Kaba and perform Tawaf around it? He said; Yes; but did I tell you that we would visit the Kaba this year? I said; No. He said; So you will visit it and perform Tawaf around it? Umar further said; I went to Abu Bakr and said; O Abu Bakr! Isnt he truly Allah Prophet? He replied; Yes. I said; Then why should we be humble in our religion? He said; Indeed; he is Allah Messenger ﷺ and he does not disobey his Lord; and He will make him victorious. Adhere to him as; by Allah; he is on the right. I said; Was he not telling us that we would go to the Kaba and perform Tawaf around it? He said; Yes; but did he tell you that you would go to the Kaba this year? I said; No. He said; You will go to Kaba and perform Tawaf around it. AlZuhri said; Umar said; I performed many good deeds as expiation for the improper questions I asked them. When the writing of the peace treaty was concluded; Allah Messenger ﷺ said to his companions; Get up and slaughter your sacrifices and get your head shaved. By Allah none of them got up; and the Prophet repeated his order thrice. When none of them got up; he left them and went to Umm Salamah and told her of the people attitudes towards him. Umm Salamah said; O the Prophet ﷺ of Allah! Do you want your order to be carried out? Go out and dont say a word to anybody till you have slaughtered your sacrifice and call your barber to shave your head. So; the Prophet ﷺ went out and did not talk to anyone of them till he did that; i.e. slaughtered the sacrifice and called his barber who shaved his head. Seeing that; the companions of the Prophet ﷺ got up; slaughtered their sacrifices; and started shaving the heads of one another; and there was so much rush that there was a danger of killing each other. Then some believing women came to the Prophet ﷺ ; and Allah revealed the following Divine Verses:- O you who believe; when the believing women come to you as emigrants examine them... 60.10 Umar then divorced two wives of his who were infidels. Later on Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan married one of them; and Safwan Bin Umaiya married the other. When the Prophet ﷺ returned to Medina; Abu Basir; a new Muslim convert from Quraish came to him. The Infidels sent in his pursuit two men who said to the Prophet ﷺ ; Abide by the promise you gave us. So; the Prophet ﷺ handed him over to them. They took him out of the City till they reached Dhu AlHulaifa where they dismounted to eat some dates they had with them. Abu Basir said to one of them; By Allah; O so-and-so; I see you have a fine sword. The other drew it out of the scabbard and said; By Allah; it is very fine and I have tried it many times. Abu Basir said; Let me have a look at it. When the other gave it to him; he hit him with it till he died; and his companion ran away till he came to Medina and entered the Masjid running. When Allah Messenger ﷺ saw him he said; This man appears to have been frightened. When he reached the Prophet ﷺ he said; My companion has been murdered and I would have been murdered too. Abu Basir came and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; by Allah; Allah has made you fulfill your obligations by your returning me to them i.e. the Infidels ; but Allah has saved me from them. The Prophet ﷺ said; Woe to his mother! what excellent war kindler he would be; should he only have supporters. When Abu Basir heard that he understood that the Prophet ﷺ would return him to them again; so he set off till he reached the seashore. Abu Jandal Bin Suhail got himself released from them i.e. infidels and joined Abu Basir. So; whenever a man from Quraish embraced Islam he would follow Abu Basir till they formed a strong group. By Allah; whenever they heard about a caravan of Quraish heading towards Sham; they stopped it and attacked and killed them i.e. infidels and took their properties. The people of Quraish sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ requesting him for the Sake of Allah and Kith and kin to send for i.e. Abu Basir and his companions promising that whoever amongst them came to the Prophet ﷺ would be secure. So the Prophet ﷺ sent for them i.e. Abu Basir companions and Allah I revealed the following Divine Verses: And it is He Who Has withheld their hands from you and your hands From them in the midst of Mecca; After He made you the victorious over them.... the unbelievers had pride and haughtiness; in their hearts... the pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance. 48.24-26 And their pride and haughtiness was that they did not confess write in the treaty that he i.e. Muhammad was the Prophet of Allah and refused to write: In the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the Most Merciful; and they the mushriks prevented them the Muslims from visiting the House the Kabah. | The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The conditions of Jihad and peace treaties in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4632 | Narrated Salim Abu AlNadr: The freed slave of Umar Bin Ubaidullah who was Umar clerk: Abdullah Bin Abi Aufa wrote him i.e. Umar a letter that contained the following:- Once Allah Messenger ﷺ during a holy battle ; waited till the sun had declined and then he got up among the people and said; O people! Do not wish to face the enemy in a battle and ask Allah to save you from calamities but if you should face the enemy; then be patient and let it be known to you that Paradise is under the shades of swords. He then said;; O Allah! The Revealer of the Holy Book; the Mover of the clouds; and Defeater of AlAhzab i.e. the clans of infidels ; defeat them infidels and bestow victory upon us. | The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Delay of the fighting in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4702 | Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: The Prophet ﷺ appointed Abdullah Bin Jubair as the commander of the infantry men archers who were fifty on the day of the battle of Uhud. He instructed them; Stick to your place; and dont leave it even if you see birds snatching us; till I send for you; and if you see that we have defeated the infidels and made them flee; even then you should not leave your place till I send for you. Then the infidels were defeated. By Allah; I saw the women fleeing lifting up their clothes revealing their leg-bangles and their legs. So; the companions of Abdullah Bin Jubair said; The booty! O people; the booty ! Your companions have become victorious; what are you waiting for now? Abdullah Bin Jubair said; Have you forgotten what Allah Messenger ﷺ said to you? They replied; By Allah! We will go to the people i.e. the enemy and collect our share from the war booty. But when they went to them; they were forced to turn back defeated. At that time Allah Messenger ﷺ in their rear was calling them back. Only twelve men remained with the Prophet ﷺ and the infidels martyred seventy men from us. On the day of the battle of Badr; the Prophet ﷺ and his companions had caused the Pagans to lose 140 men; seventy of whom were captured and seventy were killed. Then Abu Sufyan asked thrice; Is Muhammad present amongst these people? The Prophet ﷺ ordered his companions not to answer him. Then he asked thrice; Is the son of Abu Quhafa present amongst these people? He asked again thrice; Is the son of AlKhattab present amongst these people? He then returned to his companions and said; As for these men ; they have been killed. Umar could not control himself and said to Abu Sufyan ; You told a lie; by Allah! O enemy of Allah! All those you have mentioned are alive; and the thing which will make you unhappy is still there. Abu Sufyan said; Our victory today is a counterbalance to yours in the battle of Badr; and in war the victory is always undecided and is shared in turns by the belligerents; and you will find some of your killed men mutilated; but I did not urge my men to do so; yet I do not feel sorry for their deed After that he started reciting cheerfully; O Hubal; be high! 1 On that the Prophet ﷺ said to his companions ; Why dont you answer him back? They said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ What shall we say? He said; Say; Allah is Higher and more Sublime. Then Abu Sufyan said; We have the idol AlUzza; and you have no Uzza. The Prophet said to his companions ; Why dont you answer him back? They asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What shall we say? He said; Says Allah is our Helper and you have no helper. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And The Companions in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What quarrels and differences are hated in the war in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4708 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent a Sariya of ten men as spies under the leadership of Aasi m Bin Thabit AlAnsari; the grandfather of Aasi m Bin Umar AlKhattab. They proceeded till they reached Hadaa; a place between Usfan; and Mecca; and their news reached a branch of the tribe of Hudhail called Bani Lihyan. About two-hundred men; who were all archers; hurried to follow their tracks till they found the place where they had eaten dates they had brought with them from Medina. They said; These are the dates of Yathrib i.e. Medina ; and continued following their tracks When Aasi m and his companions saw their pursuers; they went up a high place and the infidels circled them. The infidels said to them; Come down and surrender; and we promise and guarantee you that we will not kill any one of you Aasi m Bin Thabit; the leader of the Sariya said; By Allah! I will not come down to be under the protection of infidels. O Allah! Convey our news to Your Prophet. Then the infidels threw arrows at them till they martyred Aasi m along with six other men; and three men came down accepting their promise and convention; and they were Khubaib AlAnsari and Ibn Dathina and another man So; when the infidels captured them; they undid the strings of their bows and tied them. Then the third of the captives said; This is the first betrayal. By Allah! I will not go with you. No doubt these; namely the martyred; have set a good example to us. So; they dragged him and tried to compel him to accompany them; but as he refused; they killed him. They took Khubaid and Ibn Dathina with them and sold them as slaves in Mecca and all that took place after the battle of Badr. Khubaib was bought by the sons of AlHarith Bin Amir Bin Nawfal Bin Abd Manaf. It was Khubaib who had killed AlHarith Bin Amir on the day of the battle of Badr. So; Khubaib remained a prisoner with those people. Narrated AlZuhri: Ubaidullah Bin Eyad said that the daughter of AlHarith had told him; When those people gathered to kill Khubaib he borrowed a razor from me to shave his pubes and I gave it to him. Then he took a son of mine while I was unaware when he came upon him. I saw him placing my son on his thigh and the razor was in his hand. I got scared so much that Khubaib noticed the agitation on my face and said; Are you afraid that I will kill him? No; I will never do so. By Allah; I never saw a prisoner better than Khubaib. By Allah; one day I saw him eating of a bunch of grapes in his hand while he was chained in irons; and there was no fruit at that time in Mecca. The daughter of AlHarith used to say; It was a boon Allah bestowed upon Khubaib. When they took him out of the Sanctuary of Mecca to kill him outside its boundaries; Khubaib requested them to let him offer two rakat prayer. They allowed him and he offered Two rakat and then said; Hadnt I been afraid that you would think that I was afraid of being killed ; I would have prolonged the prayer. O Allah; kill them all with no exception. He then recited the poetic verse :- I being martyred as a Muslim; Do not mind how I am killed in Allah Cause; For my killing is for Allah Sake; And if Allah wishes; He will bless the amputated parts of a torn body Then the son of AlHarith killed him. So; it was Khubaib who set the tradition for any Muslim sentenced to death in captivity; to offer a two-rakat prayer before being killed. Allah fulfilled the invocation of Aasi m Bin Thabit on that very day on which he was martyred. The Prophet ﷺ informed his companions of their news and what had happened to them. Later on when some infidels from Quraish were informed that Aasi m had been killed; they sent some people to fetch a part of his body i.e. his head by which he would be recognized. That was because Aasi m had killed one of their chiefs on the day of the battle of Badr. So; a swarm of wasps; resembling a shady cloud; were sent to hover over Aasi m and protect him from their messenger and thus they could not cut off anything from his flesh. | The Chapter on Killing And Martyrs in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The performance of a two Raka Salat before being put to death in Sahih AlBukhari

Amr; a sub-narrator said; Those are the infidels of Quraish and Muhammad is Allah Blessing. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6434 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ sent a Sariya of spies and appointed Aasi m Bin Thabit; the grandfather of Aasi m Bin Umar Bin AlKhattab; as their leader. So they set out; and when they reached a place between Usfan and Mecca; they were mentioned to one of the branch tribes of Bani Hudhail called Lihyan. So; about one-hundred archers followed their traces till they i.e. the archers came to a journey station where they i.e. Aasi m and his companions had encamped and found stones of dates they had brought as journey food from Medina. The archers said; These are the dates of Medina; and followed their traces till they took them over. When Aasi m and his companions were not able to go ahead; they went up a high place; and their pursuers encircled them and said; You have a covenant and a promise that if you come down to us; we will not kill anyone of you. Aasi m said; As for me; I will never come down on the security of an infidel. O Allah! Inform Your Prophet about us. So they fought with them till they killed Aasi m along with seven of his companions with arrows; and there remained Khubaib; Zaid and another man to whom they gave a promise and a covenant. So when the infidels gave them the covenant and promise; they came down. When they captured them; they opened the strings of their arrow bows and tied them with it. The third man who was with them said; This is the first breach in the covenant; and refused to accompany them. They dragged him and tried to make him accompany them; but he refused; and they killed him. Then they proceeded on taking Khubaib and Zaid till they sold them in Mecca. The sons of AlHarith Bin Amr Bin Nawfal bought Khubaib. It was Khubaib who had killed AlHarith Bin Amr on the day of Badr. Khubaib stayed with them for a while as a captive till they decided unanimously to kill him. At that time Khubaib borrowed a razor from one of the daughters of AlHarith to shave his pubic hair. She gave it to him. She said later on; I was heedless of a little baby of mine; who moved towards Khubaib; and when it reached him; he put it on his thigh. When I saw it; I got scared so much that Khubaib noticed my distress while he was carrying the razor in his hand. He said Are you afraid that I will kill it? Allah willing; I will never do that; Later on she used to say; I have never seen a captive better than Khubaib Once I saw him eating from a bunch of grapes although at that time no fruits were available at Mecca; and he was fettered with iron chains; and in fact; it was nothing but food bestowed upon him by Allah. So they took him out of the Sanctuary of Mecca to kill him. He said; Allow me to offer a two-rakat prayer. Then he went to them and said; Had I not been afraid that you would think I was afraid of death; I would have prayed for a longer time. So it was Khubaib who first set the tradition of praying two rakat before being executed. He then said; O Allah! Count them one by one; and added; When I am being martyred as a Muslim; I do not care in what way I receive my death for Allah Sake; because this death is in Allah Cause. If He wishes; He will bless the cut limbs. Then Uqba Bin AlHarith got up and martyred him. The narrator added: The Quraish infidels sent some people to Aasi m in order to bring a part of his body so that his death might be known for certain; for Aasi m had killed one of their chiefs on the day of Badr. But Allah sent a cloud of wasps which protected his body from their messengers who could not harm his body consequently. | The Chapter on Killing And Martyrs in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Ghazwa of AlRaji Ril Dhakwan and Bir Mauna and the narration about Khubaib and his companions in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6439 | Narrated Anas: That the Prophet ﷺ sent his uncle; the brother of Um Sulaim at the head of seventy riders. The chief of the pagans; Amir Bin AlTufail proposed three suggestions to the Prophet ﷺ saying; Choose one of three alternatives: 1 that the bedouins will be under your command and the townspeople will be under my command; 2 or that I will be your successor; 3 or otherwise I will attack you with two thousand from Bani Ghatafan. But Amir was infected with plague in the House of Um so-and-so. He said; Shall I stay in the house of a lady from the family of so-and-so after having a swelled gland like that camel? Get me my horse. So he died on the back of his horse. Then Haram; the brother of Um Sulaim and a lame man along with another man from so-and-so tribe went towards the pagans i.e. the tribe of Amir. Haram said to his companions ; Stay near to me; for I will go to them. If they i.e. infidels should give me protection; you will be near to me; and if they should kill me; then you should go back to your companions. Then Haram went to them and said; Will you give me protection so as to convey the message of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? So; he started talking to them but they signalled to a man to kill him and he went behind him and stabbed him with a spear. He i.e. Haram said; Allahu Akbar! I have succeeded; by the Lord of the Kaba! The companion of Haram was pursued by the infidels; and then they i.e. Haram companions were all killed except the lame man who was at the top of a mountain. Then Allah revealed to us a verse that was among the cancelled ones later on. It was: We have met our Lord and He is pleased with us and has made us pleased. After this event the Prophet ﷺ invoked evil on the infidels every morning for 30 days. He invoked evil upon the tribes of Ril; Dhakwan; Bani Lihyan and Usaiya who disobeyed Allah and His Apostle. | The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Ghazwa of AlRaji Ril Dhakwan and Bir Mauna and the narration about Khubaib and his companions in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6470 | Narrated Aisha: Saad was wounded on the day of Khandaq i.e. Trench when a man from Quraish; called Hibban Bin AlAraqa hit him with an arrow. The man was Hibban Bin Qais from the tribe of Bani Mais Bin Amir Bin Louai who shot an arrow at Saad medial arm vein or main artery of the arm. The Prophet ﷺ pitched a tent for Sad in the Masjid so that he might be near to the Prophet ﷺ to visit. When the Prophet returned from the battle of AlKhandaq i.e. Trench and laid down his arms and took a bath Gabriel came to him while he i.e. Gabriel was shaking the dust off his head; and said; You have laid down the arms? By Allah; I have not laid them down. Go out to them to attack them. The Prophet ﷺ said; Where? Gabriel pointed towards Bani Quraidha. So Allah Messenger ﷺ went to them i.e. Banu Quraidha i.e. besieged them. They then surrendered to the Prophet judgment but he directed them to Saad to give his verdict concerning them. Saad said; I give my judgment that their warriors should be killed; their women and children should be taken as captives; and their properties distributed. Narrated Hisham: My father informed me that Aisha said; Saad said; O Allah! You know that there is nothing more beloved to me than to fight in Your Cause against those who disbelieved Your Apostle and turned him out of Mecca. O Allah! I think you have put to an end the fight between us and them i.e. Quraish infidels. And if there still remains any fight with the Quraish infidels ; then keep me alive till I fight against them for Your Sake. But if you have brought the war to an end; then let this wound burst and cause my death thereby. So blood gushed from the wound. There was a tent in the Masjid belonging to Banu Ghifar who were surprised by the blood flowing towards them. They said; O people of the tent! What is this thing which is coming to us from your side? Behold! Blood was flowing profusely out of Saad wound. Saad then died because of that. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Alansar in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The return of the Prophet from Ahzab and his going out to Bani Quraiza in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6591 | Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah Messenger ﷺ set out with the intention of performing Umra; but the infidels of Quraish intervened between him and the Kaba; so the Prophet ﷺ slaughtered his Hadi i.e. sacrificing animals and shaved his head at AlHudaibiya and concluded a peace treaty with them i.e. the infidels on condition that he would perform the Umra the next year and that he would not carry arms against them except swords; and would not stay in Mecca more than what they would allow. So the Prophet ﷺ performed the Umra in the following year and according to the peace treaty; he entered Mecca; and when he had stayed there for three days; the infidels ordered him to leave; and he left. | The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Umra AlQada in Sahih AlBukhari

The Prophet ﷺ said; But has Aqil left for us any house to lodge in? He then added; No believer will inherit an infidel property; and no infidel will inherit the property of a believer. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6656 | Narrated Abu Qatada: When it was the day of the battle of Hunain; I saw a Muslim man fighting with one of the pagans and another pagan was hiding himself behind the Muslim in order to kill him. So I hurried towards the pagan who was hiding behind the Muslim to kill him; and he raised his hand to hit me but I hit his hand and cut it off. That man got hold of me and pressed me so hard that I was afraid that I would die ; then he knelt down and his grip became loose and I pushed him and killed him. The Muslims excepting the Prophet ﷺ and some of his companions started fleeing and I too; fled with them. Suddenly I met Umar Bin AlKhattab amongst the people and I asked him; What is wrong with the people? He said; It is the order of Allah Then the people returned to Allah Messenger ﷺ after defeating the enemy. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Whoever produces a proof that he has killed an infidel; will have the spoils of the killed man. So I got up to look for an evidence to prove that I had killed an infidel; but I could not find anyone to bear witness for me; so I sat down. Then it came to my mind that I should speak of it and I mentioned the case to Allah Messenger ﷺ. A man from the persons who were sitting with him i.e. the Prophet ; said; The arms of the deceased one whom he i.e. Abu Qatada has mentioned; are with me; so please compensate him for it i.e. the spoils ; Abu Bakr said; No; Allah Messenger ﷺ will not give it i.e. the spoils to a weak humble person from Quraish and leave one of Allah Lions who fights on behalf of Allah and His Apostle. Allah Messenger ﷺ then got up and gave that spoils to me; and I bought with it; a garden which was the first property I got after embracing Islam. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Killing The Enemies And Pagans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on and on the day of Hunain when you rejoiced at your great number in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-18076 | It has been narrated on the authority of Abbas who said: I was in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Hunain. I and Abd Sufyan Bin Harith Bin Abd AlMuttalib stuck to the Messenaer of Allah ﷺ and we did not separate from him. And the Messenger of Allah may place be upon him was riding on his white mule which had been presented to him by Farwa Bin Nufitha AlJudhami. When the Muslims had an encounter with the disbelievers; the Muslims fled; falling back; but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to spur his mule towards the disbelievers. I was holding the bridle of the mule of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ checking it from going very fast; and Abu Sufyan was holding the stirrup of the mule of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who said: Abbas; call out to the people of AlSamura. Abbas who was a man with a loud voice called out at the top of the voice: Where are the people of Samura? Abbas said: And by God; when they heard my voice; they came back to us as cows come back to their calves; and said: We are present; we are present! Abbas said: They began to fight the infidels. Then there was a call to The Ansar. Those who called out to them shouted: O ye party of the Ansar! O party of the Ansar! Banu AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj were the last to be called. Those who called out to them shouted: O Banu AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj! O BanU Harith Bin AlKhazraj! And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was riding on his mule looked at their fight with his neck stretched forward and he said: This is the time when the fight is raging hot. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took some pebbles and threw them in the face of the infidels. Then he said: By the Lord of Muhammad; the infidels are defeated. Abbas said: I went round and saw that the battle was in the same condition in which I had seen it. By Allah; it remained in the same condition until he threw the pebbles. I continued to watch until I found that their force had been spent out and they began to retreat. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Alansar in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 28 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24621 | Narrated Amr Ibn Anbasah AlSulami: I asked: Messenger of Allah; in which part of night the supplication is more likely to be accepted? He replied: In the last part: Pray as much as you like; for the prayer is attended by the angels and it is recorded till you offer the dawn prayer; then stop praying when the sun is rising till it has reached the height of one or two lances; for it rises between the two horns of the Devil; and the infidels offer prayer for it at that time. Then pray as much as you like; because the prayer is witnessed and recorded till the shadow of a lance be- comes equal to it. Then cease prayer; for at that time the Hell-fire is heated up and doors of Hell are opened. When the sun declines; pray as much as you like; for the prayer is witnessed till you pray the afternoon prayer; then cease prayer till the sun sets; for it sets between the horns of the Devil; and at that time the infidels offer prayer for it. He narrated a lengthy tradition. Abbas said: Abu Salam narrated this tradition in a similar manner from Abu Umamah. He who sits during them will be better than he who gets up and he who walks during them is better than he who runs. So break your bows; cut your bowstrings and strike your swords on stones. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29275 | Narrated A man from the companions of the Prophet: Abdulrahman Ibn Kaab Ibn Malik reported on the authority of a man from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ : The infidels of the Quraysh wrote a letter to Ibn Ubay and to those who worshipped idols from alaous and AlKhazraj; while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at that time at Medina before the battle of Badr. They wrote : You gave protection to our companion. We swear by Allah; you should fight him or expel him; or we shall come to you in full force; until we kill your fighters and appropriate your women. When this news reached Abdullah Ibn Ubay and those who were worshippers of idols; with him they gathered together to fight the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When this news reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; he visited them and said: The threat of the Quraysh to you has reached its end. They cannot contrive a plot against you; greater than what you yourselves intended to harm you. Are you willing to fight your sons and brethren? When they heard this from the Prophet ﷺ ; they scattered. This reached the infidels of the Quraysh. The infidels of the Quraysh again wrote a letter to the Jews after the battle of Badr: You are men of weapons and fortresses. You should fight our companion or we shall deal with you in a certain way. And nothing will come between us and the anklets of your women. When their letter reached the Prophet ﷺ ; they gathered Banu AlNadir to violate the treaty. They sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ : Come out to us with thirty men from your companions; and thirty rabbis will come out from us till we meet at a central place where they will hear you. If they testify to you and believe in you; we shall believe in you. The narrator then narrated the whole story. When the next day came; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the morning with an army; and surrounded them. He told them: I swear by Allah; you will have no peace from me until you conclude a treaty with me. But they refused to conclude a treaty with him. He therefore fought them the same day. Next he attacked Banu Quraysh with an army in the morning; and left Banu AlNadir. He asked them to sign a treaty and they signed it. He turned away from them and attacked Banu AlNadir with an army. He fought with them until they agreed to expulsion. Banu AlNadir were deported; and they took with them whatever their camels could carry; that is; their property; the doors of their houses; and their wood. Palm-trees were exclusively reserved for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah bestowed them upon him and gave them him as a special portion. He Allah ; the Exalted; said: What Allah has bestowed on His Apostle and taken away from them; for this ye made no expedition with either camel corps or cavalry. He said: Without fighting. So the Prophet ﷺ gave most of it to the emigrants and divided it among them; and he divided some of it between two men from the helpers; who were needy; and he did not divide it among any of the helpers except those two. The rest of it survived as the sadaqah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which is in the hands of the descendants of Fatimah Allah be pleased with her. | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Incidents With AlNadir in Sunan Abu Dawoud |
