Salim narrated; Ibn Umar used to do the same whenever he was in a hurry during the journey. And Salim added; Ibn Umar used to pray the Maghrib and Isha prayers together in AlMuzdalifa. Salim said; Ibn Umar delayed the Maghrib prayer because at that time he heard the news of the death of his wife Safiya bint Abi Ubaid. I said to him; The prayer is due. He said; Go on. Again I said; The prayer is due. He said; Go on; till we covered two or three miles. Then he got down; prayed and said; I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying in this way; whenever he was in a hurry during the journey. Abdullah bin Umar added; Whenever the Prophet was in a hurry; he used to delay the Maghrib prayer and then offer three rakat of the Maghrib and perform Taslim; and after waiting for a short while; Iqama used to be pronounced for the Isha prayer when he would offer two rakat and perform Taslim. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-134Narrated Aisha: In the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ the sun eclipsed; so he led the people in prayer; and stood up and performed a long Qiyam; then bowed for a long while. He stood up again and performed a long Qiyam but this time the period of standing was shorter than the first. He bowed again for a long time but shorter than the first one; then he prostrated and prolonged the prostration. He did the same in the second raka as he did in the first and then finished the prayer; by then the sun eclipse had cleared. He delivered the Khutba sermon and after praising and glorifying Allah he said; The sun and the moon are two signs against the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse on the death or life of anyone. She said to her; May Allah give you refuge from the punishment of the grave. So Aisha asked Allah Messenger ﷺ Would the people be punished in their graves? Allah Messenger ﷺ after seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave and thus replied in the affirmative. Then one day; Allah Messenger ﷺ rode to go to some place but the sun eclipsed. He returned in the forenoon and passed through the rear of the dwellings of his wives and stood for the eclipse prayer; and the people stood behind him. He stood up for a long period and then performed a prolonged bowing which was shorter than the first bowing. Then he raised his head and prostrated. Then he stood up for the second raka for a long while but the standing was shorter than that of the first raka. Then he performed a prolonged bowing which was shorter than the first one. Then he raised his head and prostrated. Then he stood up for a long time but shorter than the first. Then he performed a prolonged bowing but shorter than the first. Then he raised his head and prostrated and finished the prayer and then delivered the sermon and said as much as Allah wished. Then on the 4th night the people did not hear his voice and they thought he had slept; so some of them started humming in order that he might come out. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1806Narrated Ibn Abbas: One night I slept at the house of Maimuna. The Prophet ﷺ woke up; answered the call of nature; washed his face and hands; and then slept. He got up late at night ; went to a water skin; opened the mouth thereof and performed ablution not using much water; yet he washed all the parts properly and then offered the prayer. I got up and straightened my back in order that the Prophet ﷺ might not feel that I was watching him; and then I performed the ablution; and when he got up to offer the prayer; I stood on his left. He caught hold of my ear and brought me over to his right side. He offered thirteen rakat in all and then lay down and slept till he started blowing out his breath as he used to do when he slept. In the meantime Bilal informed the Prophet ﷺ of the approaching time for the Fajr prayer; and the Prophet offered the Fajr Morning prayer without performing new ablution. He used to say in his invocation; Allahumma ijal fi qalbi nuran wa fi basari nuran; wa fi sami nuran; waan yamini nuran; waan yasari nuran; wa fawqi nuran; wa tahti nuran; wa amami nuran; wa khalfi nuran; wajal li nuran. Kuraib a sub narrator said; I have forgotten seven other words; which the Prophet ﷺ mentioned in this invocation. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1978Narrated Talha Bin Ubaidullah: A bedouin with unkempt hair came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regards prayers. The Prophet ﷺ said; You have to offer perfectly the five compulsory prayers in a day and a night 24 hrs. ; except if you want to perform some extra optional prayers. The bedouin said; Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regards fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said; You have to observe fast during the month of Ramadan except if you fast some extra optional fast. The bedouin said; Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regard Zakat. The Prophet ﷺ then told him the Islamic laws and regulations whereupon the bedouin said; By Him Who has honored you; I will not perform any optional deeds of worship and I will not leave anything of what Allah has enjoined on me. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He will be successful if he has told the truth or he will enter Paradise if he said the truth. SahihMuslim-017-001-17232Iyas Bin Salama reported on the authority of his father: We set out on an expedition with; Allah Messenger ﷺ. We faced hardship in getting provisions until we decided to slaughter some of our riding animals. Allah Apostle ﷺ ; commanded us to pool our provisions of food. So we spread a sheet of leather and the provisions of the people were collected on it. I stretched myself to measure how much that was the length and breadth of the sheet on which the provisions were laid. I measured it and found that it was in length and breadth of so much size on which a goat could sit. We were fourteen hundred persons. We all ate until we were fully satisfied and then filled our bags with provisions. Then Allah Apostle ﷺ said: Is there any water for performing ablution. Then there came a man with a small bucket containing some water. He threw it in a basin. We all fourteen hundred persons performed ablution using the water in plenty. Then there came after that eight persons and they said: Is there any water to perform ablution? SahihMuslim-017-001-18383It is narrated on the authority of Yahya Bin Yamur that the first man who discussed qadr Divine Decree in Basra was Mabad AlJuhani. I along with Humaid Bin Abdulrahman Himyari set out for pilgrimage or for Umrah and said: Should it so happen that we come into contact with one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we shall ask him about what is talked about taqdir Divine Decree. Accidentally we came across Abdullah Ibn Umar Ibn AlKhattab; while he was entering the Masjid. My companion and I surrounded him. One of us stood on his right and the other stood on his left. I expected that my companion would authorize me to speak. I therefore said: Abu Abdulrahman There have appeared some people in our land who recite the Quran and pursue knowledge. And then after talking about their affairs; added: They such people claim that there is no such thing as Divine Decree and events are not predestined. He Abdullah Ibn Umar said: When you happen to meet such people tell them that I have nothing to do with them and they have nothing to do with me. And verily they are in no way responsible for my belief. Abdullah Ibn Umar swore by Him the Lord and said : If any one of them who does not believe in the Divine Decree had with him gold equal to the bulk of the mountain Uhud and spent it in the way of Allah ; Allah would not accept it unless he affirmed his faith in Divine Decree. He further said: My father; Umar Ibn AlKhattab; told me: One day we were sitting in the company of Allah Apostle ﷺ when there appeared before us a man dressed in pure white clothes; his hair extraordinarily black. There were no signs of travel on him. None amongst us recognized him. At last he sat with the Apostle ﷺ He knelt before him placed his palms on his thighs and said: Muhammad; inform me about AlIslam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: AlIslam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and you establish prayer; pay Zakat; observe the fast of Ramadan; and perform pilgrimage to the House if you are solvent enough to bear the expense of the journey. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He Umar Ibn AlKhattab said: It amazed us that he would put the question and then he would himself verify the truth. He the inquirer said: Inform me about Iman faith. He the Holy Prophet replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah; in His angels; in His Books; in His Apostles; in the Day of Judgment; and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He the inquirer again said: Inform me about AlIhsan performance of good deeds. He the Holy Prophet said: That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him; for though you dont see Him; He; verily; sees you. He the enquirer again said: Inform me about the hour of the Doom. He the Holy Prophet remarked: One who is asked knows no more than the one who is inquiring about it. He the inquirer said: Tell me some of its indications. Maybe Allah will compensate you for this. You are one among the daughters of Adam and Allah has ordained for you as He has ordained for them. So I proceeded on with the rituals of Hajj till we came to Mina. I washed myself and then circumambulated the House; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ encamped at Muhassab and called; Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr. and said: Take out your sister from the precincts of the Kaba in order to put on Ihram for Umra and circumambulate the House. and I shall wait for you here. She said: So I went out and put on Ihram and then circumambulated the House; and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwa; and then we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was in his house in the middle of the night. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to Abu Bakr; telling him to lead the people in prayer; so the messenger came to him and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is telling you to lead the people in prayer. Abu Bakr was a tenderhearted man; he said: 0 Umar. lead the in prayer. But Umar said: You have more right to that. So Abu Bakr led them in prayer during those days. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ felt a little better; he came with the help of two men; one of whom was AlAbbas; to pray Zuhr. When Abu Bakr saw him; he wanted to step back; but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured to him not to step back. He told them the two men to seat him beside Abu Bakr; and Abu Bakr started to pray standing. The people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying sitting. I Ubaidullah entered upon Ibn Abbas and said Shall I not tell you what Aisha narrated to me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He said: Yes. So I told him and he did not deny any of it; but he said: Did she tell you the name of the man who was with AlAbbas? Sometimes Bilal came to him and called him for prayer. He then dozed; and sometimes I doubted whether he dozed or not; till he Bilal called him for prayer. This is the prayer he offered till he grew old or put on weight. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24699Narrated Fadl Bin Abbas: I spent a night with the Prophet ﷺ to see how he prayed. He got up; performed ablution and prayed two rakahs. His standing was like his bowing i.e. equal in duration ; and his bowing was like his prostration equal in length. Then he slept. Afterwards he awoke; performed ablution; and used tooth-stick. He then recited five verses from Surah AlImran : In the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day. He went on doing so till he prayed ten rakahs. He then stood up and prayed one rakah observing witr with it. In the meantime the muadhdhin called to prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up after the muadhdhin had kept silent. He then stood up and I also stood at his left side. He made me stand at his right side. He then put his hand upon my head; as he was touching my ear and awakening me. He then prayed two light rakahs and recited Surah AlFatihah in each of them; and uttered the salutation. He then prayed eleven rakahs observing the witr and slept. Then Bilal came to him and said: Prayer; Messenger of Allah. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24711Narrated Abdullah Bin Abbas: That he spent a night with Maimunah; wife of the Prophet ﷺ ; who was also his Ibn Abbas maternal aunt. I lay towards the width of the pillow and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his wife slept towards its length. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slept. When half the night passed; or a little before it or a little after it; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ awoke and began to rub his face eyes to remove the sleep. He then recited ten verses from the last part of Surah AlImran. Hen then came to a bag of water that was hanging. He performed ablution from it and performed his ablution well. He then stood up and prayed. I also got up and did as he did. I then went and stood at his side. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his right hand upon my head and took me by my ear twisting it. He then prayed two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs; then two rakahs. The narrator AlQanabi said: Six times. He observed the witr prayer; and then slept until the muadhdhin came. He then bowed and they also bowed; and he prostrated and they also prostrated. Then he raised his head and they also raised their heads. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then remained seated. They prostrated alone and stood up and retraced their footsteps and stood behind them. Then the other section came; they stood up and uttered the takbir and bowed by themselves. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated himself and they also prostrated with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and they performed the second prostration by themselves. Then both the sections stood up and prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He bowed and they also bowed; and then he prostrated himself and they also prostrated themselves. Then he returned and performed the second prostration and they also prostrated with him as quickly as possible; showing no slackness in quick prostration. When he reached Dhu AlHulaifa he said : Anyone who wants to perform Hajj should raise his voice in Talbiyah for Hajj after wearing Ihram ; and he who wants to perform Umrah should raise his voice in talbiyah for an Umrah. The narrator Mousa in the version of Wuhaib reported him the Prophet as saying if there were no sacrificial animals with me; I would raise my voice in talbiyah for an Umrah. But according to the version of Hammad Bin Salamah; he said as for myself; I shall raise my voice in talbiyah for Hajj because I have sacrificial animal with me. The agreed version goes I Aisha was one of those persons who wore Ihram for an Umrah. But on my way to Makkah I menstruated. The Messenger of Allah SWAS entered upon me while I was weeping. He asked why are you weeping? I wished I would not come out for Hajj this year. He said give up your Umrah; untie your hair and comb. The version of Mousa said and raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj after wearing Ihram. Sulaimans version goes and do as all the Muslims do during their Hajj. When the night for performing the obligatory circumambulation tawaf AlZiyarah came; the Messenger of Allah SWAS commanded Abdulrahman He took her to AlTanim instead of the words her Umrah. She went round the Kabah. Allah thus completed both her Umrah and Hajj.Hisham said : No sacrificial animal was offered during all this time. The Apostel of Allah SWAS said those who have brought the sacrificial animals with them should raise their voices in talbiyah for Hajj along with an Umrah and they should not put off their Ihram till they do so after performing them both. I came to Makkah while I was menstruating and I did not go round the House the Kabah or run between AlSafa and AlMarwah. I complained about this to the Messenger of Allah SWAS he said: Undo your hair; comb it and raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj and let Umrah go. She said I did so. When we performed Hajj; the Messenger of Allah SWAS sent me along with Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr to AlTanim and I performed Umrah. He said; this is Umrah in place of the one you had missed. She said those who had raised their voices in talbiyah for Umrah put off Ihram after circumambulating the House the Kabah and after running between AlSafa and AlMarwa. He said : Glory be to Allah; this is a thing prescribed by Allah on the daughters of Adam. He said perform all the rites of Hajj but do not go round the House the Kabah. When we entered Makkah; the Messenger of Allah SWAS said he who desires to make his Hajj an Umrah may do so; except those who have sacrificial animals with them. The Messenger of Allah SWAS sacrificed a cow on behalf of his wives on the day of sacrifice. When the night of AlBatha came; and Aisha was purified she said to the Messenger of Allah SWAS my fellow female pilgrims will return after performing Hajj and Umrah and I shall return after performing only Hajj? He therefore; ordered Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr who took her to AlTanim. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then commanded us that those who had not brought sacrificial animals withthem should put off their ihram after Umrah. We asked Which acts are lawful and which not ? He replied All acts are lawful that are permissible usually. We had therefore intercourse with our wives; used perfumes; put on our clothes. There remained only four days to perform Hajj at Arafat. We then raised our voice in talbiyah wearing Ihram for Hajj on the eighth of Dhu AlHijja. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Aisha and found her weeping. He said What is the matter with you? My problem is that I have menstruated; while the people have put on their ihram but I have not done so; nor did I go round the House the Kabah. Now the people are proceeding for Hajj. He said This is a thing destined by Allah to the daughters of Adam. Take a bath; then raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj i.e; wear ihram for Hajj. She took a abtah and performed all the rites of the Hajj lit. she stayed at all those places where the pilgrims stay. When she was purified; she circumambulated the House the Kabah ; and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah. He the Prophet said Now you have performed both your Hajj and your Umrah. She said Messenger of Allah; I have some misgiving in my mind that I did not go round the Kabah when I performed Hajj in the beginning. He said Abdulrahman her brother ; take her and have her perform Umrah from AlTanim. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25586Ibrahim Bin Uqabah said Kuraib told me that he asked Umamah Bin Zaid saying tell me how you did in the evening when you rode behind the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. He said We came to the valley where the people make their Camels kneel down to take rest at night. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ made his she Camel kneel down and he then urinated. He then called for water for ablution and performed the ablution but he did not perform minutely but performed lightly. I asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; prayer? He replied Prayer ahead of you. He then mounted the Camel till we came to AlMuzadalifah. There iqamah for the sunset prayer was called. The people then made their Camels kneel down at their places. The Camels were not unloaded as yet; iqamah for the night prayers was called and he prayed. The people then unloaded the Camels. The narrator Muhammad added in his version of the tradition How did you do when the morning came?
