Yet they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses manifest proofs of authority.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1762		Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathma: a man from the Ansar that a number of people from his tribe went to Khaibar and dispersed; and then they found one of them murdered. They said to the people with whom the corpse had been found; You have killed our companion! Those people said; Neither have we killed him; nor do we know his killer. The bereaved group went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! We went to Khaibar and found one of us murdered. The Prophet ﷺ said; Let the older among you come forward and speak. Then the Prophet ﷺ said; to them; Bring your proof against the killer. They said We have no proof. The Prophet ﷺ said; Then they the defendants will take an oath. They said; We do not accept the oaths of the Jews. Allah Messenger ﷺ did not like that the Blood-money of the killed one be lost without compensation; so he paid one-hundred camels out of the camels of Zakat to the relatives of the deceased as Diya Blood-money. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4041		Narrated Abu Qatada: We set out in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ on the day of the battle of Hunain. When we faced the enemy; the Muslims retreated and I saw a pagan throwing himself over a Muslim. I turned around and came upon him from behind and hit him on the shoulder with the sword He i.e. the pagan came towards me and seized me so violently that I felt as if it were death itself; but death overtook him and he released me. I followed Umar Bin AlKhattab and asked him ; What is wrong with the people fleeing ? He replied; This is the Will of Allah; After the people returned; the Prophet ﷺ sat and said; Anyone who has killed an enemy and has a proof of that; will posses his spoils. I got up and said; Who will be a witness for me? and then sat down. The Prophet ﷺ again said; Anyone who has killed an enemy and has proof of that; will possess his spoils. I again got up and said; Who will be a witness for me? and sat down. Then the Prophet ﷺ said the same for the third time. I again got up; and Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Abu Qatada! What is your story? Then I narrated the whole story to him. A man got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He is speaking the truth; and the spoils of the killed man are with me. So please compensate him on my behalf. On that Abu Bakr AlSiddiq said; No; by Allah; he i.e. Allah Messenger ﷺ will not agree to give you the spoils gained by one of Allah Lions who fights on the behalf of Allah and His Apostle. The Prophet ﷺ said; Abu Bakr has spoken the truth. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ gave the spoils to me. I sold that armor i.e. the spoils and with its price I bought a garden at Bani Salima; and this was my first property which I gained after my conversion to Islam. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4440		Narrated Ibn Abbas: Hilal Bin Umaiya accused his wife before the Prophet ﷺ of committing illegal sexual intercourse with Sharik Bin Sahma. The Prophet ﷺ said; Produce a proof; or else you would get the legal punishment by being lashed on your back. Hilal said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If anyone of us saw another man over his wife; would he go to search for a proof. The Prophet ﷺ went on saying; Produce a proof or else you would get the legal punishment by being lashed on your back. The Prophet ﷺ then mentioned the narration of Lian as in the Holy Book. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12037		It was narrated from Saeed Bin Ubaid AlTal from Bushair Bin Yasar who said: A man from among the Ansar who was called Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah told him that some of his people went to Khaibar; where they went their separate ways. Then they found one of their numbers slain. They said to those in whose land they found him: You killed our companion! They said: We did not kill him and we do not know who killed him. They went to the prophet of Allah and said: O Prophet of Allah; we went to Khaibar and we found one of our number slain. The Messenger of Allah said: Let the elders speak first. And he said to them: Bring proof of the one whom you suspect killed him. They said: We do not have any proof. He said: Then let them swear an oath to you. They said We will not accept the oath of the Jews. The Messenger of Allah did not want his blood to have been shed with no Justice done; so he paid a Diyah of one hundred camels from the Sadaqah. Or he would say to the one who invested his money in the partnership: You must provide proof that your trustee betrayed his trust; otherwise his oath sworn by Allah that he did not betray you is sufficient. They found one of them slain. They said to those with whom they had found him: You have killed our friend. They replied: We did not kill him; nor do we know the slayer. We the people of the slain then went to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ. He said to them: Bring proof against the one who has slain him. They replied: We have no proof. He said: Then they will take an oath for you. They said: We do not accept the oaths of the Jews. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not like no responsibility should be fixed for his blood. So he himself paid his bloodwit consisting of one hundred camels of sadaqah i.e. camels sent to the Prophet as zakat. MuwataMalik-017-001-34947		Yahya said that he heard Malik say; What is done in our community about injury to a domestic animal; is that the one who injures it must pay the amount by which he has diminished the animal price. Yahya said that he heard Malik speak about a camel who attacked a man and he feared for himself and killed it or hamstrung it. He said; If he has a clear proof that it was heading for him and had attacked him; there are no damages against him. If there is no clear proof except his word; he is responsible for the camel.
