SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1281 | Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet ﷺ said; If somebody on the demand of a judge takes an oath to grab a Muslims property and he is liar in it; he will meet Allah Who will be angry with him. So Allah revealed;:- Verily! those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah Covenant and their oaths.. 3.77 AlAshath came while Abdullah was narrating this to the people. AlAshath said; This verse was revealed regarding me and another man with whom I had a quarrel about a well. The Prophet ﷺ said to me ; Do you have any evidence? I replied; No. He said; Let your opponent take an oath. I said: I am sure he would take a false oath. Thereupon it was revealed: Verily! those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah Covenant.... 3.77 See Hadith No. 72; Vol 6. | The Chapter on False Oaths And Pledges in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Judgement regarding cases involving wells etc in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1485 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Horses may be used for three purposes: For a man they may be a source of reward in the Hereafter ; for another; a means of protection; and for another; a source of sin. The man for whom they are a source of reward; is the one who keeps them for Allah Cause and ties them with long ropes and lets them graze in a pasture or garden. Whatever those long ropes allow them to eat of that pasture or garden; will be written as good deeds for him and if they break their ropes and run one or two rounds; then all their footsteps and dung will be written as good deeds for him; and if they pass a river and drink from it though he has had no intention of watering them; even then; that will be written as good deeds for him. So such horses are a source of reward for that man. For the man who keeps horses for his livelihood in order not to ask others for help or beg his bread; and at the same time he does not forget Allah right of what he earns through them and of their backs that he presents it to be used in Allah Cause ; such horses are a shelter for him from poverty. For the man who keeps them just out of pride and for showing off; they are a source of sin. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ was asked about donkeys. He said; Allah has not revealed anything to me regarding them except this comprehensive Verse: Then anyone who has done good; equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant shall see it; and any one who has done evil; equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant shall see it. 99.7-8 | The Chapter on Jihad Manners in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The laws inferred from certain evidences and the meaning of an evidence in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2118 | Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet ﷺ drew a square and then drew a line in the middle of it and let it extend outside the square and then drew several small lines attached to that central line; and said; This is the human being; and this; the square in his lease of life; encircles him from all sides or has encircled him ; and this line ; which is outside the square ; is his hope; and these small lines are the calamities and troubles which may befall him ; and if one misses him; an-other will snap i.e. overtake him; and if the other misses him; a third will snap i.e. overtake him. | The Chapter on Body Parts The Head in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on About hope and hoping too much in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2629 | Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit: Allah Messenger ﷺ made a small room with a palm leaf mat. Allah Messenger ﷺ came out of his house and prayed in it. Some men came and joined him in his prayer. Then again the next night they came for the prayer; but Allah Messenger ﷺ delayed and did not come out to them. So they raised their voices and knocked the door with small stones to draw his attention. He came out to them in a state of anger; saying; You are still insisting on your deed; i.e. Tarawih prayer in the Masjid that I thought that this prayer Tarawih might become obligatory on you. So you people; offer this prayer at your homes; for the best prayer of a person is the one which he offers at home; except the compulsory congregational prayer. | The Chapter on Prayers Rows And Completing The Rows in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What to say when one is angry or harsh for Allah sake in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3989 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; A horse may be kept for one of three purposes: for a man it may be a source of reward; for another it may be a means of living; and for a third it may be a burden a source of committing sins. As for the one for whom it is a source of reward; he is the one who keeps his horse for the sake of Jihad in Allah Cause; he ties it with a long rope on a pasture or in a garden. So whatever its rope allows it to eat; will be regarded as good rewardable deeds for its owner. And if it breaks off its rope and jumps over one or two hillocks; even its dung will be considered amongst his good deeds. And if it passes by a river and drinks water from it; that will be considered as good deeds for his benefit even if he has had no intention of watering it. A horse is a shelter for the one who keeps it so that he may earn his living honestly and takes it as a refuge to keep him from following illegal ways of gaining money ; and does not forget the rights of Allah i.e. paying the Zakat and allowing others to use it for Allah Sake. But a horse is a burden and a source of committing sins for him who keeps it out of pride and pretense and with the intention of harming the Muslims. The Prophet ﷺ was asked about donkeys. He replied; Nothing has been revealed to be concerning them except this comprehensive Verse which covers everything :-Then whosoever has done good equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant ; Shall see it its reward And whosoever has done evil equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant ; Shall see it Its punishment. 99.7-8 | The Chapter on Jihad Manners in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Chapter in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4533 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Horses are kept for one of three purposes; for some people they are a source of reward; for some others they are a means of shelter and for some others they are a source of sins. The one for whom they are a source of reward; is he who keeps a horse for Allah Cause i.e. Jihad tying it with a long tether on a meadow or in a garden with the result that whatever it eats from the area of the meadow or the garden where it is tied will be counted as good deeds for his benefit; and if it should break its rope and jump over one or two hillocks then all its dung and its foot marks will be written as good deeds for him; and if it passes by a river and drinks water from it even though he had no intention of watering it; even then he will get the reward for its drinking. As for the man for whom horses are a source of sins; he is the one who keeps a horse for the sake of pride and pretense and showing enmity for Muslims: such a horse will be a source of sins for him. When Allah Messenger ﷺ was asked about donkeys; he replied; Nothing has been revealed to me about them except this unique; comprehensive Verse: Then anyone who does an atom or a small ants weight of good shall see it; And anyone who does an atom or a small ants weight of evil; shall see it. 101.7-8 | The Chapter on Jihad Manners in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Horses are kept for three purposes in Sahih AlBukhari

Those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah covenant And their oaths...a painful torment. 3.77 AlAshath Bin Qais came to us and asked as to what Abu Abdulrahman i.e. Ibn Masud was telling you. We related the story to him. On that he said; He has told the truth. This verse was revealed about me. I had some dispute with another man regarding a well and we took the case before Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to me ; Produce two witnesses to support your claim ; otherwise the defendant has the right to take an oath to refute your claim. I said; The defendant would not mind to take a false oath. Allah Messenger ﷺ then said; Whoever took a false oath in order to grab someone else property will meet Allah; Allah will be angry with him. Abu Ubaida kept on giving us our daily ration in small amounts from it; till it was exhausted. The share of everyone of us used to be one date only. I said; How could one date benefit you? Jabir replied; We came to know its value when even that too finished. Jabir added; When we reached the sea-shore; we saw a huge fish which was like a small mountain. Again he said: Give us something to drink; Aisha. She then brought a small cup and we drank. He then said: If you wish; you may spend the night here ; or if you wish; you may go to the Masjid. He said: While I was lying on my stomach because of pain in the lung; a man began to shake me with his foot and then said: This is a method of lying which Allah hates. MuwataMalik-017-001-34290 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam from his father that Umar Ibn AlKhattab gave a mawla of his called Hunay charge over the hima. He said; Hunay! Do not harm the people. Fear the supplication of the wronged; for the supplication of the wronged is answered. Let the one with a small herd of camels and the one with a small herd of sheep enter; but be wary of the livestock of Ibn Awuf and the livestock of Ibn Affan. If their livestock are destroyed; they will return to palm-trees and agriculture. If the livestock of the one with a small herd of camels and the one with a small herd of sheep are destroyed; he will bring his children to me crying; Amir Almuminin! Amir AlMuminin! Shall I neglect them? Water and pasturage are of less value to me than gold and silver. By Allah; they think that I have wronged them. This is their land and their water. They fought for it in the jahiliya and became muslims on it in Islam. By He in whose hand my self is! Were it not for the mounts which I give to be ridden in the way of Allah; I would not have turned a span of their land into hima. | The Chapter on Live Stock Milk And Graze in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34897 | Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Said Ibn AlMusayab that Uthman Ibn Affan said; If someone gives something to his small child who is not old enough to look after it himself; and in order that his gift might be permitted he makes the gift public and has it witnessed; the gift is permitted; even if the father keeps charge of it. Malik said; What is done in our community is that if a man gives his small child some gold or silver and then dies and he has it in his own keeping; the child has none of it unless the father set it Aasi de in coin or placed it with a man to keep for the son. If he does that; it is permitted for the son. | The Chapter on Returning Of Gifts in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hair in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35391 | Yahya related to me from Malik that Abdullah Ibn Abi Habiba said; I said to a man; when I was young; A man who only says that he must walk to the House of Allah and does not say that he has vowed to walk; does not have to walk. A man said; Shall I give you this small cucumber? and he had a small cucumber in his hand and you will say; I must walk to the house of Allah? I said; Yes and I said it; for at that time I was still immature. Then; when I came of age; some one said to me that I had to fulfill my vow. I went and asked Said Ibn AlMusayab about it; and he said to me; You must walk. So I walked. Malik said; That is the custom among us. | The Chapter on Hands And Obligations in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Jihad in Muwata Malik |
