SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1186Narrated Zahdam: There were good relations and brotherhood between this tribe of Jurm and the Ashariyin. Once; while we were sitting with Abu Mousa AlAshari; there was brought to him a meal which contained chicken meat; and there was sitting beside him; a man from the tribe of Bani Taim Allah who looked like one of the Mawali. Abu Mousa invited the man to eat but the man said; I have seen chicken eating some dirty things; and I have taken an oath not to eat chicken. Abu Mousa said to him; Come along; let me tell you something in this regard. Once I went to the Prophet ﷺ with a few men from Ashariyin and we asked him for mounts. The Prophet ﷺ said; By Allah; I will not mount you on anything; besides I do not have anything to mount you on. Then a few camels from the war booty were brought to the Prophet; and he asked about us; saying; Where are the group of Ashariyin? So he ordered for five fat camels to be given to us and then we set out. We said; What have we done? Allah Messenger ﷺ took an oath that he would not give us anything to ride and that he had nothing for us to ride; yet he provided us with mounts. We made Allah Messenger ﷺ forget his oath! By Allah; we will never be successful. So we returned to him and reminded him of his oath. He said; I have not provided you with the mount; but Allah has done so. By Allah; I may take an oath to do something; but on finding something else which is better; I do that which is better and make the expiation for my oath. The Chapter on Journeys And Travel And Oaths in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on While Allah has created you and what you make in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? So we sat with him and my father started talking to him saying; O Abu Barza! Dont you see in what dilemma the people has fallen? The first thing heard him saying I seek reward from Allah for myself because of being angry and scornful at the Quraish tribe. O you Arabs! You know very well that you were in misery and were few in number and misguided; and that Allah has brought you out of all that with Islam and with Muhammad till He brought you to this state of prosperity and happiness which you see now; and it is this worldly wealth and pleasures which has caused mischief to appear among you. The one who is in Sham i.e.; Marwan ; by Allah; is not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain: and those who are among you; by Allah; are not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain; and that one who is in Mecca i.e.; Ibn AlZubair by Allah; is not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain. The Chapter on Love And Emotions And Faith in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Changing the words in Sahih AlBukhari

Jabir pointed out with his hand illustrating what he was saying. Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up and said; You People know that I am the most Allah-fearing; the most truthful and the best doer of good deeds pious from among you. If I had not brought the Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram as you will do; so finish your Ihram. I got up and brought some ripe fresh dates and put it in front of the Prophet. He ate and then said to me; Where is your hut; O Jabir? I informed him; and he said; Spread out a bed for me in it. I spread out a bed; and he entered and slept. When he woke up; I brought some dates to him again and he ate of it and then got up and talked to the Jew again; but the Jew again refused his request. Then the Prophet ﷺ got up for the second time amidst the palm trees loaded with fresh dates; and said; O Jabir! Pluck dates to repay your debt. The Jew remained with me while I was plucking the dates; till I paid him all his right; yet there remained extra quantity of dates. So I went out and proceeded till I reached the Prophet and informed him of the good news; whereupon he said; I testify that I am Allah Messenger ﷺ.The Chapter on Food And Trees in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The eating of a spadix of the palm tree in Sahih AlBukhari

When Allah Messenger ﷺ had died; the revenue of Bahrain came; and Abu Bakr announced; Let whoever was promised something by Allah Messenger ﷺ come to me. The Prophet said to him ; Take. He scooped money with both hands and poured it in his garment and tried to lift it; but he could not and appealed to the Prophet; Will you order someone to help me in lifting it? The Prophet ﷺ said; No. Then AlAbbas said; Then will you yourself help me carry it? The Prophet ﷺ said; No. Then AlAbbas threw away some of the money; but even then he was not able to lift it; and so he gain requested the Prophet ﷺ Will you order someone to help me carry it? The Prophet said; No. Then AlAbbas said; Then will you yourself yelp me carry it? The Prophet ﷺ said; No. So; AlAbbas threw away some more money and lifted it on his shoulder and went away. SahihMuslim-017-001-17390Abdullah Bin Umar reported that a Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ who had committed adultery. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to the Jews and said: What do you find in Torah for one who commits adultery? They said: We darken their faces and make them ride on the donkey with their faces turned to the opposite direction and their backs touching each other ; and then they are taken round the city. He said: Bring Torah if you are truthful. They brought it and recited it until when they came to the verse pertaining to stoning; the person who was reading placed his hand on the verse pertaining to stoning; and read only that which was between his hands and what was subsequent to that. Abdullah Bin Salim who was at that time with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Command him the reciter to lift his hand. He lifted it and there was; underneath that; the verse pertaining to stoning. Allah Messenger ﷺ pronounced judgment about both of them and they were stoned. Abdullah Bin Umar said: I was one of those who stoned them; and I saw him the Jew protecting her the Jewess with his body. The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 6 in Sahih Muslim

He said: Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The first of men whose case will be decided on the Day of Judgment will be a man who died as a martyr. He shall be brought before the Judgment Seat. Allah will make him recount His blessings i. e. the blessings which He had bestowed upon him and he will recount them and admit having enjoyed them in his life. Then will Allah say: What did you do to requite these blessings ? He will say: I fought for Thee until I died as a martyr. Allah will say: You have told a lie. You fought that you might be called a brave warrior. And you were called so. Then orders will be passed against him and he will be dragged with his face downward and cast into Hell. Then will be brought forward a man who acquired knowledge and imparted it to others and recited the Quran. He will be brought And Allah will make him recount His blessings and he will recount them and admit having enjoyed them in his lifetime. Then will Allah ask: What did you do to requite these blessings ? He will say: I acquired knowledge and disseminated it and recited the Quran seeking Thy pleasure. Allah will say: You have told a lie. You acquired knowledge so that you might be called a scholar; and you recited the Quran so that it might be said: He is a Qari and such has been said. Then orders will be passed against him and he shall be dragged with his face downward and cast into the Fire. Then will be brought a man whom Allah had made abundantly rich and had granted every kind of wealth. He will be brought and Allah will make him recount His blessings and he will recount them and admit having enjoyed them in his lifetime. Allah will then ask: What have you done to requite these blessings ? He will say: I spent money in every cause in which Thou wished that it should be spent. Allah will say: You are lying. SahihMuslim-017-001-18036It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We fought against the Fazara; and Abu Bakr was the commander over us. He had been appointed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we were only at an hour distance from the water of the enemy; Abu Bakr ordered us to attack. We made a halt during the last part of the night to rest and then we attacked from all sides and reached their watering-place where a battle was fought. Some of the enemies were killed and some were taken prisoners. I saw a group of persons that consisted of women and children. I was afraid lest they should reach the mountain before me; so I shot an arrow between them and the mountain. When they saw the arrow; they stopped. So I brought them; driving them along. Among them was a woman from Banu Fazara. She was wearing a leather coat. With her was her daughter who was one of the prettiest girls in Arabia. I drove them along until I brought them to Abu Bakr who bestowed that girl upon me as a prize. So we arrived in Medina. I had not yet disrobed her when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the street and said: Give me that girl; O Salama. I said: Messenger of Allah; she has fascinated me. I had not yet disrobed her. When on the next day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ again met me in the street; he said: O Salama; give me that girl; may God bless your father. I said: She is for you; Messenger of Allah! By Allah. I have not yet disrobed her. SahihMuslim-017-001-18705Anas Bin Malik reported on the authority of Malik Bin Sa sa; perhaps a person of his tribe; that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: I was near the House i. e. Kabah in a state between sleep and wakefulness when I heard someone say: He is the third among the two persons. Then he came to me and took me with him. Then a golden basin containing the water of Zamzam was brought to me and my heart was opened up to such and such part. Qatada said: I asked him who was with me i e. the narrator and what he meant by such and such part. He replied: It means that it was opened up to the lower part of his abdomen Then the hadith continues : My heart was extracted and it was washed with the water of Zamzam and then it was restored in its original position; after which it was filled with faith and wisdom. I was then brought a white beast which is called AlBuraq; bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. Its stride was as long as the eye could reach. I was mounted on it; and then we went forth till we reached the lowest heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He Gabriel said: Yes. He the Prophet said: Then the gate was opened for us and it was said : Welcome unto him! His is a blessed arrival. Then we came to Adam ﷺ. And he the narrator narrated the whole account of the hadith. The Holy Prophet observed that he met Jesus in the second heaven; Yahya peace be on both of them in the third heaven; Yousif in the third; Idris in the fourth; Harun in the fifth peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. Then we travelled on till we reached the sixth heaven and came to Moses ﷺ and I greeted him and he said: Welcome unto righteous brother and righteous prophet. And when I passed by him he wept; and a voice was heard saying: What makes thee weep? He said: My Lord; he is a young man whom Thou hast sent after me as a prophet and his followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers. Then we travelled on till we reached the seventh heaven and I came to Ibrahim. He the narrator narrat- ed in this hadith that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ told that he saw four rivers which flowed from the root of the lote-tree of the farthest limits : two manifest rivers and two hidden rivers. I said: Gabriel! what are these rivers? He replied: The two hidden rivers are the rivers of Paradise; and as regards the two manifest ones; they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then the Bait AlMamur was raised up to me. I said: O Gabriel! what is this? He replied: It is the Bait AlMamur. Seventy thousand angels enter into it daily and; after they come out; they never return again. Two vessels were then brought to me. The first one contained wine and the second one contained milk; and both of them were placed before me. I chose milk. It was said: You did right. Allah will guide rightly through you your Ummah on the natural course. Then fifty prayers daily were made obligatory for me. And then he narrated the rest of the hadith to the end.The Chapter on Heaven Gabriel Moses And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 74 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-18817Husain Bin Abdulrahman reported: I was with Saeed Bin Jubair when he said: Who amongst you saw a star shooting last night? I said: It was I; then I said: I was in fact not busy in prayer; but was stung by a scorpion and that is the reason why I was awake and had a glimpse of the shooting star. He said: Then what did you do? I said: I practised charm. He said: What urged you to do this? I said: I did this according to the implied suggestion of the hadith which AlShuba narrated. He said: What did AlShuba narrate to you? I said: Buraida Bin Husaib AlAslami narrated to us. The charm is of no avail except in case of the evil influence of an eye or the sting of a scorpion. He said: He who acted according to what he had heard from the Holy Prophet acted rightly; but Ibn Abbas narrated to us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: There were brought before me the peoples and I saw an apostle and a small group of his followers along with him; another apostle and one or two persons along with him and still another apostle having no one with him. When a very large group was brought to me I conceived as if it were my Ummah. Then it was said to me: It is Moses and his people. You should look at the horizon; and I saw a very huge group. It was again said to me: See the other side of the horizon; and there was also a very huge group. It was said to me: This is your Ummah; and amongst them there were seventy thousand persons who would be made to enter Paradise without rendering any account and without suffering any torment. He then stood up and went to his house. Then the people began to talk about the people who would be admitted to Paradise without rendering any account and without suffering any torment. Some of them said: They may be those who have had the good fortune of living in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and some of them said: They be those who were born in Islam and did not associate anything with Allah. Some people mentioned other things. Thereupon came forth the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before them and he said: What was that which you were talking about? They informed him. He said: They are those persons who neither practise charm; nor ask others to practise it; nor do they take omens; and repose their trust in their Lord. Upon this Ukkasha Bin Mihsan stood up and said: Supplicate for me that He should make me one among them. Upon this he Messenger of Allah said: Thou are one among them. Then another man stood up and said: Supplicate before Allah that He should make me one among them. SahihMuslim-017-001-19220Abu Saeed AlKhudri reported: We came back after having performed Pilgrimage or Umra and lbn Saeed was along with us. And we encamped at a place and the people dispersed and I and he were left behind. I felt terribly frightend from him as it was said about him that he was the Dajjal. He brought his goods and placed them by my luggage and I said: It is intense heat. Would you not place that under that tree? And he did that. Then there appeared before us a flock of sheep. He went and brought a cup of milk and said: Abu Said; drink that. I said it is intense heat and the milk is also hot whereas the fact was that I did not like to drink from his hands or to take it from his hand and he said: Abu Said; I think that I should take a rope and suspend it by the tree and then commit suicide because of the talks of the people; and he further said. Abu Saeed he who is ignorant of the saying of Allah Messenger ﷺ he is to be pardoned ; but O people of Ansar; is this hadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ concealed from you whereas you have the best knowledge of the hadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ amongst people? Did Allah Messenger ﷺ not say that he Dajjal would be a non believer whereas I am a believer? Did Allah Messenger ﷺ not say he would be barren and no child would be born to him; whereas I have left my children in Medina? Did Allah Messenger may peace upon him not say: He would not get into Medina and Mecca whereas I have been coming from Medina and now I intend to go to Mecca? Abu Saeed said: I was about to accept the excuse put forward by him. Then he said: I know the place where he would be born and where he is now. SahihMuslim-017-001-19386AIsha reported: When I came under discussion what the people had to say about me; Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up for delivering an address and he recited tashahhud I bear witness to the fact that iheie is no god but Allah and praised Allah; lauded Him what He rightly deserves and then said: Coming to the point. Give me an advice about them who have brought false charge about my family. By Allah; I know no evil in the members of my family and the person in connection with whom the false charge is being levelled; I know no evil in him too. And he never entered my house but in my presence and when I was away on a journey; he remained with me even in that. The rest of the hadith is the same but with this change that Allah Messenger ﷺ came to my house and asked my maidservant and she said: By Allah; I know no fault in her but this that she sleeps; and goat comes and eats the kneaded flour. Some of the Companions of the Holy Prophet scolded her and said: State the fact before Allah Messenger ﷺ and they even made a pointed reference to this incident. She said: gallowed be Allah. By Allah; I know about her as does the jeweller know about the pure piece of gold. And when this news reached the person in connection with whom the allegation was made he said: Hallowed be Allah. By Allah; I have never unveiled any woman. Aisha said: He fell as a martyr in the cause of Allah; and there is this addition in this hadith that the people who had brought false allegation amongst them were Mistah and Hamna and Hassan. And so far as the hypocrite Abdullah Bin Ubay is concerned; he was one who tried his best to gather the false news and then gave them the wind. SahihMuslim-017-001-19434Abu AlAswad reported that Imran b Husain asked him: What is your view; what the people do today in the world; and strive for; is it something decreed for them or preordained for them or will their fate in the Hereafter be deterrained by the fact that their Prophets brought them teaching which they did not act upon? I said: Of course; it is something which is predetermined for them and preordained for them. He further said: Then; would it not be an injustice to punish them ? I felt greatly disturbed because of that; and said: Everything is created by Allah and lies in His Power. He would not be questioned as to what He does; but they would be questioned; thereupon he said to me: May Allah have mercy upon you; I did not mean to ask you but for testing your intelligence. Two men of the tribe of Muzaina came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; what is your opinion that the people do in the world and strive for; is something decreed for them; something preordained for them and will their fate in the Hereafter be determined by the fact that their Prophets brought them teachings which they did not act upon. and thus they became deserving of punishment? Thereupon; he said: Of course; it happens as it is decreed by Destiny and preordained for them; and this view is confirmed by this verse of the Book of Allah; the Exalted and Glorious: Consider the soul and Him Who made it perfect; then breathed into it its sin and its piety xci. 8.The Chapter on Lost And Found And Being Angry in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 1 in Sahih Muslim

I brandished the sword for the second time and it became all right and this is what came to be true when Allah granted us victory and solidarity of the believers. SahihMuslim-017-001-20151Abu Huraira reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ never told a lie but only thrice: two times for the sake of Allah for example; his words : I am sick; and his words: But it was the big one amongst them which has done that and because of Sara his wife. He had come in a land inhabited by haughty and cruel men along with Sara. She was very good-looking amongst the people; so he said to her: If these people were to know that you are my wife they would snatch you away from me; so if they ask you tell them that you are my sister and in fact you are my sister in Islam; and I do not know of any other Muslim in this land besides I and you. And when they entered that land the tyrants came to see her and said to him the king : There comes to your land a woman; whom you alone deserve to possess; so he the king sent someone towards her and she was brought to him; and Ibrahim ﷺ stood in prayer. When she visited him the tyrant king came he could help but stretch his hand towards her and his hand was tied up. He said: Supplicate to Allah so that He may release my hand and I will do no harm to you. She did that and the man repeated the same highhandedness and his hand was again tied up more tightly than on the first occasion. He said the same thing to her again; and she again did that supplicated ; but he repeated the same highhandedness and his hands were tied up more tightly than on the previous occasion. He then again said: Supplicate your Lord so that He may set my hand free; by Allah I shall do no harm to you. She did and his hand was freed. Then he called the person who had brought her and said to him: You have brought to me the satan and you have not brought to me a human being; so turn them out from my land; and he gave Hajar as a gift to her. She returned along with Hajar and when Ibrahim ﷺ saw her; he said: How have you returned? She said: With full safety have I returned. SahihMuslim-017-001-20771Ibn Abbas reported that when Abu Dharr heard of the advent of the Apostle ﷺ in Mecca he said: Brother; ride in this valley and bring information for me about the person who claims that there comes to him information from the Heavens. Listen to his words and then come to me. So he rode on until he came to Mecca and he heard his words the sacred words of the Holy Prophet and then came back to Abu Dharr and said: I have seen him exhorting people to develop good morals and his expressions can in no way be termed as poetry. He Abu Dharr said: I have not been satisfied with it regarding that which I had in my mind as I sent you. So he took up provisions for the journey and a small water-skin containing water and set forth until he came to Mecca. He came to the Masjid Kabah and began to look for Allah Apostle ﷺ and he did not recognize him the Holy Prophet and he did not even like that he should ask about him from anyone until it was night; and he slept. Ali saw him and found him to be a stranger. So he went with him. He followed him but one did not make any inquiry from the other about anything until it was morning. He then brought the water and his provisions to the Masjid and spent a day there; but he did not see Allah Apostle ﷺ until it was night. He then returned to his bed; and there happened to pass Ali and he said: This man has not been able to find his destination until this time. He made him stand and he went with him and no one made an inquiry from his companion about anything. And when it was the third day he did the same. Ali made him stand up and brought him along with him. He said: By Him; besides Whom there is no god; why dont you tell me the reason which brought you here to this town? He said: I shall do this provided you hold me promise and a covenant that you would guide me aright. He then did that. He Ali said: Verily; he is truthful and he is a Messenger of Allah ﷺ and when it is morning; follow me and if I would say anything from which I would sense fear about you I would stand in a manner as if I was throwing water and if I move on; you then follow me until I get in some house. He did that and I followed him until he came to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He entered the house of Allah Apostle ﷺ along with him and listened to his words and embraced Islam at this very place. Allah Apostle ﷺ said to him: Go to your people and inform them until my command reaches you. Thereupon he said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life; I shall say to the people of Mecca this thing at the top of my voice. So he set forth until he came to the Masjid and then spoke at the top of his voice saying : I bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. The people attacked him and made him fall down when AlAbbas came and he leaned over him and said: Woe be upon you; dont you know that he is from amongst the tribe of Ghifar and your trading route to Syria passes through the settlements of this tribe ; and he rescued him. He had brought this girl so that the food might be made lawful for him and I caught her hand. And he had brought a desert Arab so that the food might be lawful for him. So I caught his hand. When the Ansari came and he saw Allah Messenger ﷺ and his two Companions; he said: Praise be to Allah; no one has more honourable guests today than I have. He then went out and brought them a bunch of ripe dates; dry dates and fresh dates; and said: Eat some of them. He then took hold of his long knife for slaughtering a goat or a sheep. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him: Beware of killing a milch animal. He slaughtered a sheep for them and after they had eaten of it and of the bunch and drank; and when they had taken their fill and had been fully satisfied with the drink; Allah Messenger ﷺ said to Abu Bakr and Umar: By Him in Whose Hand is my life; you will certainly be questioned about this bounty on the Day of judgment. So he said:What brought you O Abu Bakr? He said: I came to meet the Messenger of Allah s.a.w and to look at his face; and to make sure he was safe. It was not long before Umar came. He said: What has brought you O Umar ? He said: Hunger O Messenger of Allah! He said: I also experienced some of that So they went to the home of Abu AlHaitham AlTaiyihan AlAnsari. He was a man with many date-palms and sheep; but he had no servants so they did not find him there. They said to his wife: Where is your companion? She said: He has gone to fetch us some good water. It was not long before Abu AlHaitham came along hauling to a large water-skin which he put down. Then he came to hug the Prophet ﷺ and uttered that his father and mother should be ransomed for him. Then he went to grove of his and he spread out a mat for them. Then he went to a date-palm and returned with a cluster of dates which he put down. The prophet s.a.w said: Why dont you select some ripe dates for us? He said: O Messenger of Allah s.a.w ! I wanted you to select from the ripe dates and the unripe dates. So they ate and they drank from that water. The Messenger of Allah s.a.w said: By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! This is among the favors which you shall be asked about on the Day Of Judgment. Cool shade; tasty ripe dates; and cool water. Abu AlHaitham left to prepare some food for them. The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not slaughter one with milk. So he Slaughtered a small female or male goat and brought it to them so they could eat it. The Prophet ﷺ said: Do you have any servants? He said: No. So he said: Then if we get some captives we shall bring them for you. So later the Prophet ﷺ came with 2 males; there was no third among them and he brought them to Abu AlHaitham. The Prophet ﷺ said: Choose from them. He said: O Prophet of Allah! Choose for me. So the Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed the one consulted is entrusted. Take this one for I have seen him praying; and encourage him to do well. So Abu AlHaitham went to his wife and informed her of what the Messenger of Allah s.a.w said. So his wife said: You will not fulfill what the Prophet ﷺ said until you have freed him. So he said: He is free. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9830Another chain from Adi Bin Hatim who said: I went to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sitting in the Masjid; the people said: This is Adi Bin Hatim. And I came without having a treaty nor a writ. When I was brought to him; he took my hand. Prior to that he had said: I hope that Allah will place his hand in my hand. He said: He stood with me; and a woman and a boy met him and said: We have a need from you. He stood with them; until he was finished dealing with what they wanted. Then he took me by the hand until he brought me to his house. A slave girl brought him a cushion to sit on; and I sat in front of him. He expressed thanks and praise for Allah then said: What has caused you to flee from saying La Ilaha Illallah? Do you know of another god other than Him? He said: I said: No. He said: Then he talked for some time; and then said: You refuse to say Allahu Akbar because you know that there is something greater than Allah? He said: I said: No. He said: Indeed the Jews are those who Allah is wrath with; and the Christians have strayed. He said: I said: Indeed I am a Muslim; Hanif. He said: I saw his face smiling with happiness. He said: Then he ordered that I stop with him at the home of a man from the Ansar; whom he would frequently visit in the mornings and the evenings. When I was with him at night; a people in woolen garments of these Nimar a cloth with certain patters; and the word appeared before came. Then he performed Prayer and stood to encourage them the people to give charity to them. Then he said: Even with a Sa or half a Sa; or a handful or part of a handful; to save the face of one of you from the heat of Hell; or the Fire. And even if it be by a date or a part of a date - for indeed one of you shall meet Allah and it shall be said to him what I say to you: Have I not given hearing and seeing to you? He shall say: Of course. It will be said: Have I not given you wealth and children? He shall say: Of course. It will be said: So where is what you have sent forth for yourself? He will look before him and behind him; on his right and on his left; but he shall not find anything to protect his face from the heat of Hell. Let one of you protect his face from the Fire; even if with part of a date; and if he does not find that; then with a good statement. For indeed I do not fear poverty for you - Allah will aid you and grant you; such that a woman can travel on her camel howda from Yathrib to AlHirah; or further; without fear of being robbed. Then Jafar said: I shall take her; I have more right to her; she is my uncle daughter and her maternal aunt is my wife; the maternal aunt is like mother. Ali said: I am more entitled to take her. She is my uncle daughter. The daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is my wife; and she has more right to her. Zayd said: I have more right to her. I went out and journeyed to her; and brought her with me. The Prophet ﷺ came out. The narrator mentioned the rest of the tradition. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25167Narrated Malik: The statement of Umar Bin AlKhattab Those which are in separate flocks are not to be brought together and those which are in one flock are not to be separated means Two persons had forty goats each ; when the collector came they brought them together in one flock so that only one goat could be given. The phrase those which are in one flock are not to be separated means If two partners possessed one hundred and one goats each; three goats were to be given by each of them. When the collector came they separated their goats. Thus only one goat was to be given by each of them. This is what I heard on this subject. The Chapter on Live Stock And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Zakat On Pasturing Animals in Sunan Abu Dawoud

The collector used to visit the water-hole when the sheep went there and say: Pay the sadaqah zakat on your property. The narrator said: A man wanted to give him his high-humped camel kawma. The narrator Hilal asked: What is kawma; Abu Salih? He said: A camel a high hump. The narrator continued: He the collector refused to accept it. He said: I wish you could take the best of my camels. He refused to accept it. He then brought another camel lower in quality than the previous one. He refused to accept it too. He then brought another camel lower in quality than the previous one. He accepted it; saying: I shall take it; but I am afraid the Messenger of Allah ﷺ might be angry with me; saying to me: You have purposely taken from a man a camel of your choice.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by Hushaim from Hilal Bin Khabbab to the same effect. My father sent me to a group of them; so I came to an aged man called Sar Ibn Disam I said: My father has sent me to you to collect zakat from you. He asked: What kind of animals will you take; my nephew? I replied: We shall select the sheep and examine their udders. He said: My nephew; I shall narrate a tradition to you. I lived on one of these steppes during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ along with my sheep. Two people riding a camel came to me. They said to me: We are messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; sent to you so that you may pay the sadaqah zakat on your sheep. I asked: What is due from me for them? They said: One goat. I went to a goat which I knew was full of milk and fat; and I brought it to them. They said: This is a pregnant goat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us to accept a pregnant goat. I asked: What will you take then? They said: A goat in its second year or a goat in its third year. I then went to a goat which had not given birth to any kid; but it was going to do so. I brought it to them. They said: Give it to us. They took it on the camel and went away.Abu Dawud said: Abu Aasi m transmitted this tradition from Zakariya. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25179Narrated Ubay Ibn Kaab The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commissioned me as a collector of zakat. I visited a man. When he had collected his property of camels; I found that a camel in her second year was due from him. I said to him: Pay a camel in her second year; for she is to be paid as sadaqah zakat by you. He said: That one is not worthy of milking and riding. Here is another camel which is young; grand and fat. So take it. I said to him: I shall not take an animal for which I have not been commanded. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is here near to you. If you like; go to him; and present to him what you presented to me. Do that; if he accepts it from you; I shall accept it; if he rejects it; I shall reject it. He said: I shall do it. He accompanied me and took with him the camel which he had presented to me. We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said to him: Prophet of Allah; your messenger came to me to collect zakat on my property. By Allah; neither the Messenger of Allah nor his messenger has ever seen my property before. I gathered my property camels ; and he estimated that a camel in her second year would be payable by me. But that has neither milk nor is it worth riding. So I presented to him a grand young camel for acceptance as zakat. But he has refused to take her. Look; she is here; I have brought her to you; Messenger of Allah. Take her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: That is what is due from you. If you give voluntarily a better animal Allah will give a reward to you for it. We accept her from you. She is here; Messenger of Allah; I have brought her to you. So take her. He replied: Yes; a piece of cloth; a part of which we wear and a part of which we spread on the ground ; and a wooden bowl from which we drink water. He said: Bring them to me. He then brought these articles to him and he the Prophet took them in his hands and asked: Who will buy these? A man said: I shall buy them for one dirham. He said twice or thrice: Who will offer more than one dirham? A man said: I shall buy them for two dirhams. He gave these to him and took the two dirhams and; giving them to the Ansari; he said: Buy food with one of them and hand it to your family; and buy an axe and bring it to me. He then brought it to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fixed a handle on it with his own hands and said: Go; gather firewood and sell it; and do not let me see you for a fortnight. The man went away and gathered firewood and sold it. When he had earned ten dirhams; he came to him and bought a garment with some of them and food with the others. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: This is better for you than that begging should come as a spot on your face on the Day of Judgment. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25454Jabir Bin Abdullah said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ and his companions raised their voices in talbiyah for Hajj. No one of them had brought the sacrificial animals with them except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha h. Ali may Allaah be pleased with him had returned from Yemen and had brought sacrificial animals with him. He said I raised my voice in talbiyah for which the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ raised his voice. The Prophet ﷺ commanded his companions to change it into Umrah and clip their hair after running between AlSafa and AlMarwah ; and then take off their ihram except those who brought the sacrificial animals with them. They remarked should we go to Mina with our penises dripping with prostatic fluid? These remarks reached the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. Thereupon he said had I known before hand about my affair what I have come to know later; I would not have brought sacrificial animals. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25470Abdullah Bin Umar said At the Farewell Pilgrimage the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ put on ihram first for Umrah and afterwards for Hajj and drove the sacrificial animals along with him from Dhu AlHulaifa. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ first raised his voice in talbiyah for Umrah and afterwards he did so for Hajj; and the people along with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ did it first for Umrah and afterwards for Hajj. Some of the people had brought sacrificial animals and others had not; so when the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ came to Makkah ; he said to the people. Those of you who have brought sacrificial animals must not treat as lawful anything which has become unlawful for you till you complete your Hajj; but those of you who have not brought sacrificial animals should go round the House Kabah and run between AlSafa and AlMarwah; clip their hair; put off ihram; and afterwards raise their voice in talbiyah for Hajj and bring sacrificial animals. Those who cannot get sacrificial animals should fast three days during Hajj and seven days when they return to their families. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then performed circumambulation when he came to Makkah first touching the corner then running during three circuits out of seven and walking during four and when he had finished his circumambulation of the House Kabah he prayed two rakahs at Maqam Ibrahim; then giving the salutation and departing he went to AlSafa and ran seven times between AlSafa and AlMarwah. After that he did not treat anything as lawful which had become unlawful for him till he had completed his Hajj; sacrificed his animals on the day of sacrifice; went quickly and performed the circumambulation of the House the Kabah ; after which all that had been unlawful became lawful for him. Those people who had brought sacrificial animals did as the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ did.The Chapter on Hajj Altamattu in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Qiran Hajj in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25570Jafar Bin Muhammad reported on the authority of his father We entered upon Jabir Bin Abd Allaah. When we reached him; he asked about the people who had come to visit him. When my turn came I said I am Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Hussain. He patted my head with his hand and undid my upper then lower buttons. He then placed his hand between my nipples and in those days I was a young boy. He then said welcome to you my nephew; ask what you like. I questioned him he was blind. The time of prayer came and he stood wrapped in a mantle. Whenever he placed it on his shoulders its ends fell due to its shortness. He led us in prayer while his mantle was placed on a rack by his side. I said tell me about the Hajj of the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ.He signed with his hand and folded his fingers indicating nine. He then said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ remained nine years at Madeenah during which he did not perform Hajj; then made a public announcement in the tenth year to the effect that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ was about to go to perform Hajj. A large number of people came to Madeenah everyone desiring to follow him and act like him. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ went out and we too went out with him till we reached Dhu AlHulaifa. Asma daughter of Umais gave birth to Muhammad Bin Abi Bakr. She sent message to Apostle of Allaah ﷺ asking him What should I do?He replied take a bath; bandage your private parts with a cloth and put on ihram. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then prayed in the masjid and mounted AlQaswa and his she Camel stood erect with him on its back. Jabir said I saw a large number of people on mounts and on foot in front of him and a similar number on his right side and a similar number on his left side and a similar number behind him. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ was among us; the Quran was being revealed to him and he knew its interpretation. Whatever he did; we did it. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then raised his voice declaring Allaahs unity and saying Labbaik I am at thy service ; O Allaah; labbaik; labbaik; Thou hast no partner praise and grace are Thine and the Dominion. Thou hast no partner. The people too raised their voices in talbiyah which they used to utter. But the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ did not forbid them anything. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ continued his talbiyah. Jabir said We did not express our intention of performing anything but Hajj; being unaware of Umrah at that season ; but when we came with him to the House the Kabah ; he touched the corner and made seven circuits walking quickly with pride in three of them and walking ordinarily in four. Then going forward to the station of Abraham he recited And take the station of Abraham as a place of prayer. While praying two rakahs he kept the station between him and the House. The narrator said My father said that Ibn Nufail and Uthman said I do not know that he Jabir narrated it from anyone except the Prophet ﷺ. The narrator Sulaiman said I do not know but he Jabir said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ used to recite in the two rakahs Say; He is Allaah; one and Say O infidels. He then returned to the House the kabah and touched the corner after which he went out by the gate to AlSafa. When he reached near AlSafa he recited AlSafa and AlMarwah are among the indications of Allaah and he added We begin with what Allaah began with. He then began with AlSafa and mounting it till he could see the House the Kabah he declared the greatness of Allaah and proclaimed his Unity. He then said there is no god but Allaah alone; Who alone has fulfilled His promise; helped His servant and routed the confederates. He then made supplication in the course of that saying such words three times. He then descended and walked towards AlMarwah and when his feet came down into the bottom of the valley; he ran; and when he began to ascend he walked till he reached AlMarwah. He did at AlMarwah as he had done at AlSafa and when he came to AlMarwah for the last time; he said If I had known before what I have come to know afterwards regarding this matter of mine; I would not have brought sacrificial animals but made it an Umrah; so if any of you has no sacrificial animals; he may take off ihram and treat it as an Umrah. All the people then took off ihram and clipped their hair except the Prophet ﷺ and those who had brought sacrificial animals. Suraqah bin Malik Bin Jusham then got up and asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ does this apply to the present year or does it apply for ever? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ interwined his fingers and said The Umarh has been incorporated in Hajj. Adding No; but forever and ever. Ali came from Yemen with the sacrificial animals of the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ and found Fathima among one of those who had taken off their ihram. She said put on colored clothes and stained her eyes with collyrium. Ali disliked this action of her and asked Who commanded you for this? She said My father. Jabir said Ali said at Iraq I went to Apostle of Allaah ﷺ to complain against Fathima for what she had done and to ask the opinion of Apostle of Allaah ﷺ about which she mentioned to me. I informed him that I disliked her action and that thereupon she said to me My father commanded me to do this. He said She spoke the truth; she spoke the truth. What did you say when you put on ihram for Hajj? I said O Allaah; I put on ihram for the same purpose for which Apostle of Allaah ﷺ has put it on. He said I have sacrificial animals with me; so do not take off ihram. He Jabir said The total of those sacrificial animals brought by Ali from Yemen and of those brought by the Prophet ﷺ from Madeenah was one hundred. Then all the people except the Prophet ﷺ and those who had with them the sacrificial animals took off ihram and clipped their hair. When the 8th of Dhu AlHijja Yaum AlTarwiyah came; they went towards Mina having pit on ihram for Hajj and the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ rode and prayed at Mina the noon; afternoon; sunset; night and dawn prayers. After that he waited a little till the sun rose and gave orders for a tent of hair to be set up at Namrah. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then sent out and the Quraish did not doubt that he would halt at AlMash ar AlHaram at AlMuzdalifah; as the Quraish used to do in the pre Islamic period but he passed on till he came to Arafat and found that the tent had been setup at Namrah. There he dismounted and when the sun had passed the meridian he ordered AlQaswa to be brought and when it was saddled for him; he went down to the bottom of the valley and addressed the people saying Your lives and your property must be respected by one another like the sacredness of this day of yours in the month of yours in this town of yours. Lo! Everything pertaining to the pre Islamic period has been put under my feet and claims for blood vengeance belonging to the pre Islamic period have been abolished. The first of those murdered among us whose blood vengeance I permit is the blood vengeance of ours according to the version of the narrator Uthman; the blood vengeance of the son of Rabiah and according to the version of the narrator Sulaiman the blood vengeance of the son of Rabiah Bin AlHarith Bin Abd AlMuttalib. Some scholars said he was suckled among Banu Sad i.e.; he was brought up among Bani Sad and then killed by Hudhail. The usury of the pre Islamic period is abolished and the first of usury I abolish is our usury; the usury of Abbas Bin Abd AlMuttalib for it is all abolished. Fear Allaah regarding women for you have got them under Allahs security and have the right to intercourse with them by Allaahs word. It is a duty from you on them not to allow anyone whom you dislike to lie on your beds but if they do beat them; but not severely. You are responsible for providing them with food and clothing in a fitting manner. I have left among you something by which if you hold to it you will never again go astray; that is Allaahs Book. You will be asked about me; so what will you say? They replied We testify that you have conveyed and fulfilled the message and given counsel. Then raising his forefinger towards the sky and pointing it at the people; he said O Allaah! Be witness; O Allaah! Be witness; O Allaah! Be witness! Bilal then uttered the call to prayer and the iqamah and he prayed the noon prayer; he then uttered the iqamah and he prayed the afternoon prayer; engaging in no prayer between the two. He then mounted his she Camel AlQaswa and came to the place of standing ; making his she Camel AlQaswa turn its back to the rocks and having the path taken by those who went on foot in front of him and he faced the qiblah. He remained standing till sunset when the yellow light had somewhat gone and the disc of the sun had disappeared. He took Usamah up behind him and picked the reins of AlQaswa severely so much so that its head was touching the front part of the saddle. Pointing with is right hand he was saying Calmness; O People! Calmness; O people. Whenever he came over a mound of sand he let loose its reins a little so that it could ascend. He then came to AlMuzdalifah where he combined the sunset and night prayers; with one adhan and two iqamahs. The narrator Uthamn said He did not offer supererogatory prayers between them. The narrators are then agreed upon the version He then lay down till dawn and prayed the dawn prayer when the morning light was clear. The narrator Sulaiman said with one adhan and one iqamah. The narrators are then agreed upon the version He then mounted AlQaswa and came to AlMashar AlHaram and ascended it. The narrators Uthaman and Sulaiman said He faced the qiblah praised Allaah; declared His greatness; His uniqueness. Uthamn added in his version and His Unity and kept standing till the day was very clear. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then went quickly before the sun rose ; taking AlFadl Bin Abbas behind him. He was a man having beautiful hair; white and handsome color. When the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ went quickly; the women in the howdas also began to pass him quickly. AlFadl began to look at them. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ placed his hand on the face of AlFadl ; but Alfadl turned his face towards the other side. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ also turned away his hand to the other side. AlFadl also turned his face to the other side looking at them till he came to the Valley of Muhassir. He urged the Camel a little and following a middle road which comes out at the greatest jamrah; he came to the jamrah which is beside the tree and he threw seven small pebbles at this jamrah saying Allah is most great each time he threw a pebble like bean seeds. He threw them from the bottom of the valley. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then went to the place of the sacrifice and sacrificed sixty three Camels with his own hand. He then commanded Ali who sacrificed the remainder and he shared him and his sacrificial animals. After that he ordered that a piece of flesh from each Camel should be put in a pot and when it was cooked the two of them ate some of it and drank some of its broth. The narrator Sulaiman said the he mounted afterwards the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ went quickly to the House the Kabah and prayed the noon prayer at Makkah. He came to Banu Abd AlMuttalib who were supplying water at Zamzam and said draw water Banu Abd AlMuttalib were it not that people would take from you the right to draw water; I would draw it along with you. MuwataMalik-017-001-34521Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard from Amir Ibn Sad Ibn Abi Waqqas that his father said; There were two brothers; one of whom died forty nights before the other. The merit of the first was being mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and he said; Wasnt the other one a muslim? They said; Of course; Messenger of Allah; and there was no harm in him. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; What will make you realise what his prayer has brought him. The prayer is like a deep river of sweet water running by your door into which you plunge five times a day. How much of your dirtiness do you think that will leave? You do not realise what his prayer has brought him.The Chapter on Peace And Modesty in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Shortening the Prayer in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34626Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam that Jabir Ibn Abdullah AlAnsari said; We went out with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; in the raid on the Banu Ammar tribe. Jabir said; I was resting under a tree when the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; came. I said; Messenger of Allah; come to the shade. So the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; sat down; and I stood up and went to a sack of ours. I looked in it for something and found a small cucumber and broke it. Then I brought it to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said; From where did you get this? I said; We brought it from Madina; Messenger of Allah. Jabir continued; We had a friend of ours with us whom we used to equip to go out to guard our mounts. I gave him what was necessary and then he turned about to go to the mounts and he was wearing two threadbare cloaks of his. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; looked at him and said; Does he have two garments other than these? I said; Yes; Messenger of Allah. He has two garments in the bag. I gave them to him. He said; Let him go and put them on. I let him go to put them on. As he turned to go; the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; exclaimed; May Allah strike his neck. Isnt that better for him? He said taking him literally ; Messenger of Allah; in the way of Allah. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; In the way of Allah. Abdullah Ibn Ayash therefore carried a great drinking bowl and brought it to Umar Ibn AlKhattab and placed it before him. Umar brought it near to him and then raised his head. Umar said; This drink is good; so he drank some of it and then passed it to a man on his right. When Abdullah turned to go; Umar Ibn AlKhattab called him and asked; Are you the person who says that Makka is better than Madina? Abdullah said; I said that it was the Haram of Allah; and His place of security; and His House was in it. Umar said; I am not saying anything about the House of Allah or His Haram. Then Umar repeated Are you the person who says that Makka is better than Madina? He replied; I said that it was the Haram of Allah and His place of security; and His House was in it.
