The people then stopped eating it. On that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Carry on eating; for it is lawful. His meal was presented before him and there was chicken meat in it. Among those who were present there was a man from Bani Taimillah having a red complexion as a non-Arab freed slave; and that man did not approach the meal. Abu Mousa said to him; Come along! I have seen Allah Messenger ﷺ eating of that i.e.; chicken. The man said; I have seen it chickens eating something I regarded as dirty; and so I have taken an oath that I shall not eat its meat chicken. Abu Mousa said; Come along! I will inform you about it i.e.; your oath. Once we went to Allah Messenger ﷺ in company with a group of Ashairiyin; asking him for mounts while he was distributing some camels from the camels of Zakat. Ayoub said; I think he said that the Prophet was in an angry mood at the time. The Prophet ﷺ said; By Allah! I will not give you mounts; and I have nothing to mount you on. After we had left; some camels of booty were brought to Allah Apostle and he said; Where are those Ashariyin? Where are those Ashariyin? So we went to him and he gave us five very fat good-looking camels. We mounted them and went away; and then I said to my companions; We went to Allah Messenger ﷺ to give us mounts; but he took an oath that he would not give us mounts; and then later on he sent for us and gave us mounts; perhaps Allah Messenger ﷺ forgot his oath. By Allah; we will never be successful; for we have taken advantage of the fact that Allah Messenger ﷺ forgot to fulfill his oath. So let us return to Allah Messenger ﷺ to remind him of his oath. We returned and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! We came to you and asked you for mounts; but you took an oath that you would not give us mounts but later on you gave us mounts; and we thought or considered that you have forgotten your oath. The Prophet ﷺ said; Depart; for Allah has given you Mounts. By Allah; Allah willing; if I take an oath and then later find another thing better than that; I do what is better; and make expiation for the oath. two other narrations through Zahdam as above | The Chapter on Journeys And Travel And Oaths in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To make expiation for ones oath in Sahih AlBukhari

Let all of us be sacrificed for Your cause and when we meet our enemy; make our feet firm and bestow peace and calmness on us and if they our enemy will call us towards an unjust thing we will refuse. The infidels have made a hue and cry to ask others help against us. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Who is that driver of the camels ? They said; He is Amir Bin AlAqwa. He said; May Allah bestow His mercy on him. A man among the people said; Has Martyrdom been granted to him; O Allah Prophet! Would that you let us enjoy his company longer. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; What are those fires? For what are you making fires? They said; For cooking meat. He asked; What kind of meat? They said; Donkeys meat. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Throw away the meat and break the cooking pots. A man said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall we throw away the meat and wash the cooking pots? He said; You can do that too. When the Muslims returned from the battle ; Salama said; Allah Messenger ﷺ saw me pale and said; What is wrong with you? I said; Let my parents be sacrificed for you! SahihMuslim-017-001-17239 | AlBara Bin Azib reported that his maternaluncle Abu Burda Bin Niyar sacrificed his animal earlier than the Prophet ﷺ had sacrificed. Thereupon he said: Apostle of Allah; it is the day of meat and it is not desirable to have longing for it and not to make use of it immediately ; so I hastened in offering my animal as a sacrifice; so that I might feed my family and neighbours and my kith and kin. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Offer again your sacrifice. He said: Messenger of Allah; I have a small milch goat of less than one year; and that is better than two dry goats from which only meat can be acquired. Thereupon he said: That is better than the two animals of sacrifice on your behalf; and the sacrifice of a goat; of less than six months shall not be accepted as a sacrifice on behalf of anyone after your sacrifice. | The Chapter on Animal Sacrifice And Meat in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 1 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-17449 | Jabir reported: Allah Messenger may peace he upon him sent us on an expedition and appointed Abu Ubaida our chief that we might intercept a caravan of the Quraish and provided us with a bag of dates. And he found for us nothing besides it. Abu Ubaida gave each of us one date everyday. I Abu Zubair; one of the narrators said: What did you do with that? He said: We sucked that just as a baby sucks and then drank water over that; and it sufficed us for the day until night. We beat off leaves with the help of our staffs; then drenched them with water and ate them. We then went to the coast of the sea; and there rose before us on the coast of the sea something like a big mound. We came near that and we found that it was a beast; called AlAnbar spermaceti whale. Abu Ubaida said. It is dead. He then said: No but it does not matter ; we have been sent by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the path of Allah and you are hard pressed on account of the scarcity of food ; so you eat that. We three hundred in number stayed there for a month; until we grew bulky. He Jabir said: I saw how we extracted pitcher after pitcher full of fat from the cavity of its eye; and sliced from it compact piece of meat equal to a bull or like a bull. Abu Ubaida called forth thirteen men from us and he made them sit in the cavity of its eye; and he took hold of one of the ribs of its chest and made it stand and then saddled the biggest of the camels we had with us and it passed under it the arched rib ; and we provided ourselves with pieces of boiled meat especially for use in our journey. When we came back to Medina; we went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and made a mention of that to him; whereupon he said: That was a provision which Allah had brought forth for you. Is there any piece of meat left with you; so tnat you give to us that? He Jabir said: We sent to Allah Messenger ﷺ tome of that a piece of meat and he ate it. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And Dates in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 4 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18132 | It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We marched upon Khaibar with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We journeyed during the night. One of the people said to my brother Amir Bin AlAkwa: Wont you recite to us some of your verses? Amir was a poet. So he began to chant his verses to urge the camels; reciting: O God; if Thou hadst not guided us We would have neither been guided rightly nor practised charity; Nor offered prayers. We wish to lay down our lives for Thee; so forgive Thou our lapses; And keep us steadfast when we encounter our enemies. Bestow upon us peace and tranquillity. Behold; when with a cry they called upon us to help. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who is this driver of the camels ? They said: It is Amir. He said: God will show mercy to him. A man said: Martyrdom is reserved for him. Messenger of Allah; would that you had allowed us to benefit ourselves from his life. The narrator says : We reached Khaibar and besieged them; and we continued the siege until extreme hunger afflicted us. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Behold; God has conquered it for you. When it was evening of the day on which the city was conquered. the Muslims lit many fires. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What are these fires? And what are they cooking? They said: They are cooking meat. He asked. Which meat? They said: That of domestic asses. He said: Let them throw it away and break the pots in which it is being cooked. A man said: Or should they throw it away and wash the pots? He said: They may do that. When the people drew themselves up in battle array Amir caught hold of his sword that was rather short He drove a Jew before him to strike him with it. As he struck him ; his sword recoiled and struck his own knee; and Amir died of the wound. When the people returned after the conquest of Kliaibar and he Salama had caught hold of my hand; and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that I was silent and dejected ; he said: What the matter with thee? I said to him: My father and my mother be thy ransom; people presume that Amir sacrifice has been in vain. He asked: Who has said that? I said: So and so and Usaid Bin Hudair AlAnsari. He said: Who has said that has lied. For him for Amir there is a double reward. He indicated this by putting two of his fingers together. He was a devotee of God and a warrior fighting for His cause. He took part of the foreleg which he liked most. He sliced with his teeth a slice out of that and said: I would be the leader of mankind on the Day of Resurrection. He then sliced that meat for the second time and said: I am the leader of mankind on the Day of Resurrection. When he saw that his companions did not ask him about this assertion he said: Why dont you say: How would that be? They said: How would be it; Messenger of Allah? He said: People would stand before the Lord of the worlds. And the rest of the hadith was narrated like the one transmitted by Abu Hayan; on the authority of Abu Zura; and in the story of Ibrahim; this addition was made. He said and made mention of his words with regard to the star: This is my Lord. And his words with regard to their gods: But the big among them has done that. And his words: I am ailing. He the Holy Prophet said: By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad; the distance between two leaves of the door from their supporting frames is as the distance between Mecca and Hajar or Hajar and Mecca. MuwataMalik-017-001-35100 | Malik said; It is the generally agreed on way of doing things among us that the meat of camels; cattle; sheep and so on is not to be bartered one for one; except like for like; weight for weight; from hand to hand. There is no harm in that. If it is not weighed; then it is estimated to be like for like from hand to hand. Malik said; There is no harm in bartering the meat of fish for the meat of camels; cattle; and sheep and so on two or more for one; from hand to hand. If delayed terms enter the transaction however; there is no good in it. Malik said; I think that poultry is different from the meat of cattle and fish. I see no harm in selling some of it for something different; more of one than another; from hand to hand. None of that is to be sold on delayed terms. | The Chapter on Hand Gestures Satan And Usury in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Blood Money in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35165 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa that his father; Urwa Ibn AlZubair made an aqiqa for his male and female children of a sheep each. Malik said; What we do about the aqiqa is that if someone makes an aqiqa for his children; he gives a sheep for both male and female. The aqiqa is not obligatory but it is desirable to do it; and people continue to come to us about it. If someone makes an aqiqa for his children; the same rules apply as with all sacrificial animals - one-eyed; emaciated; injured; or sick animals must not be used; and neither the meat or the skin is to be sold. The bones are broken and the family eat the meat and give some of it away as sadaqa. The child is not smeared with any of the blood. | The Chapter on Live Stock Milk And Graze in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hudud in Muwata Malik
