SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2898 | Narrated Ibn Abbas: For one year I wanted to ask Umar about the two women who helped each other against the Prophet ﷺ but I was afraid of him. One day he dismounted his riding animal and went among the trees of Arak to answer the call of nature; and when he returned; I asked him and he said; They were Aisha and Hafsa. Then he added; We never used to give significance to ladies in the days of the Pre-lslamic period of ignorance; but when Islam came and Allah mentioned their rights; we used to give them their rights but did not allow them to interfere in our affairs. Once there was some dispute between me and my wife and she answered me back in a loud voice. I said to her; Strange! You can retort in this way? She said; Yes. Do you say this to me while your daughter troubles Allah Messenger ﷺ ? So I went to Hafsa and said to her; I warn you not to disobey Allah and His Apostle. I first went to Hafsa and then to Umm Salamah and told her the same. She said to me; O Umar! It surprises me that you interfere in our affairs so much that you would poke your nose even into the affairs of Allah Messenger ﷺ and his wives. So she rejected my advice. There was an Ansari man; whenever he was absent from Allah Messenger ﷺ and I was present there; I used to convey to him what had happened on that day ; and when I was absent and he was present there; he used to convey to me what had happened as regards news from Allah Messenger ﷺ. During that time all the rulers of the nearby lands had surrendered to Allah Messenger ﷺ except the king of Ghassan in Sham; and we were afraid that he might attack us. All of a sudden the Ansari came and said; A great event has happened! I asked him; What is it? Has the Ghassani king come? He said; Greater than that! Allah Messenger ﷺ has divorced his wives! I went to them and found all of them weeping in their dwellings; and the Prophet ﷺ had ascended to an upper room of his. At the door of the room there was a slave to whom I went and said; Ask the permission for me to enter. He admitted me and I entered to see the Prophet ﷺ lying on a mat that had left its imprint on his side. Under his head there was a leather pillow stuffed with palm fires. Behold! There were some hides hanging there and some grass for tanning. Then I mentioned what I had said to Hafsa and Umm Salamah and what reply Umm Salamah had given me. Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled and stayed there for twenty nine days and then came down. Allah Messenger ﷺ ; once visited her and she provided him with food and started looking for lice in his head. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ slept; and afterwards woke up smiling. Umm Haram asked; What causes you to smile; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He said. Some of my followers who in a dream were presented before me as fighters in Allah cause on board a ship amidst this sea caused me to smile; they were as kings on the thrones or like kings on the thrones. Ishaq; a sub-narrator is not sure as to which expression the Prophet ﷺ used. Umm Haram said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Invoke Allah that he makes me one of them. Allah Messenger ﷺ invoked Allah for her and slept again and woke up smiling. Once again Umm Haram asked; What makes you smile; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He replied; Some of my followers were presented to me as fighters in Allah Cause; repeating the same dream. Umm Haram said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Invoke Allah that He makes me one of them. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5486 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; The Prophet ﷺ Abraham emigrated with Sarah and entered a village where there was a king or a tyrant. The king was told that Abraham had entered the village accompanied by a woman who was one of the most charming women. So; the king sent for Abraham and asked; O Abraham! Who is this lady accompanying you? Abraham replied; She is my sister i.e. in religion. Then Abraham returned to her and said; Do not contradict my statement; for I have informed them that you are my sister. By Allah; there are no true believers on this land except you and 1. Then Abraham sent her to the king. When the king got to her; she got up and performed ablution; prayed and said; O Allah! If I have believed in You and Your Apostle; and have saved my private parts from everybody except my husband; then please do not let this pagan overpower me. On that the king fell in a mood of agitation and started moving his legs. Seeing the condition of the king; Sarah said; O Allah! If he should die; the people will say that I have killed him. The king regained his power; and proceeded towards her but she got up again and performed ablution; prayed and said; O Allah! If I have believed in You and Your Apostle and have kept my private parts safe from all except my husband; then please do not let this pagan overpower me. The king again fell in a mood of agitation and started moving his legs. On seeing that state of the king; Sarah said; O Allah! If he should die; the people will say that I have killed him. The king got either two or three attacks; and after recovering from the last attack he said; By Allah! You have sent a satan to me. Take her to Abraham and give her Ajar. So she came back to Abraham and said; Allah humiliated the pagan and gave us a slave-girl for service. | The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Abraham And Sarah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The purchase of a slave from the enemy in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6689 | Narrated Jarir: While I was at Yemen; I met two men from Yemen called Dhu Kala and Dhu Amr; and I started telling them about Allah Messenger ﷺ. Dhu Amr said to me; If what you are saying about your friend i.e. the Prophet is true; then he has died three days ago. Then both of them accompanied me to Medina; and when we had covered some distance on the way to Medina; we saw some riders coming from Medina. We asked them and they said; Allah Messenger ﷺ has died and Abu Bakr has been appointed as the Caliph and the people are in a good state. Then they said; Tell your friend Abu Bakr that we have come to visit him ; and if Allah will; we will come again. So they both returned to Yemen. When I told Abu Bakr their statement; he said to me; I wish you had brought them to me. Afterwards I met Dhu Amr; and he said to me; O Jarir! You have done a favor to me and I am going to tell you something; i.e. you; the nation of Arabs; will remain prosperous as long as you choose and appoint another chief whenever a former one is dead. But if authority is obtained by the power of the sword; then the rulers will become kings who will get angry; as kings get angry; and will be delighted as kings get delighted. | The Chapter on Cities Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The departure of Jarir to Yemen in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6867 | Narrated Ibn Abbas: Abu Sufyan narrated to me personally; saying; I set out during the Truce that had been concluded between me and Allah Messenger ﷺ. While I was in Sham; a letter sent by the Prophet ﷺ was brought to Heraclius. Dihya AlKalbi had brought and given it to the governor of Busra; and the latter forwarded it to Heraclius. Heraclius said; Is there anyone from the people of this man who claims to be a prophet? The people replied; Yes. So I along with some of Quraishi men were called and we entered upon Heraclius; and we were seated in front of him. Then he said; Who amongst you is the nearest relative to the man who claims to be a prophet? So they made me sit in front of him and made my companions sit behind me. Then he called upon his translator and said to him. Tell them i.e. Abu Sufyan companions that I am going to ask him i.e. Abu Sufyan regarding that man who claims to be a prophet. So; if he tell me a lie; they should contradict him instantly. By Allah; had I not been afraid that my companions would consider me a liar; I would have told lies. Heraclius then said to his translator; Ask him: What is his i.e. the Prophets family status amongst you? I said; He belongs to a noble family amongst us. Heraclius said; Was any of his ancestors a king? I said; No. He said; Did you ever accuse him of telling lies before his saying what he has said? I said; No. He said; Do the nobles follow him or the poor people? I said; It is the poor who followed him. He said; Is the number of his follower increasing or decreasing? I said; The are increasing. He said; Does anyone renounce his religion i.e. Islam after embracing it; being displeased with it? I said; No. He said; Did you fight with him? I replied; Yes. He said; How was your fighting with him? I said; The fighting between us was undecided and victory was shared by him and us by turns. He inflicts casualties upon us and we inflict casualties upon him. He said; Did he ever betray? I said; No; but now we are away from him in this truce and we do not know what he will do in it Abu Sufyan added; By Allah; I was not able to insert in my speech a word against him except that. Heraclius said; Did anybody else amongst you ever claimed the same i.e. Islam before him? I said; No. Then Heraclius told his translator to tell me i.e. Abu Sufyan ; I asked you about his family status amongst you; and you told me that he comes from a noble family amongst you Verily; all Apostles come from the noblest family among their people. Then I asked you whether any of his ancestors was a king; and you denied that. Thereupon I thought that had one of his fore-fathers been a king; I would have said that he i.e. Muhammad was seeking to rule the kingdom of his fore-fathers. Then I asked you regarding his followers; whether they were the noble or the poor among the people; and you said that they were only the poor who follow him. In fact; such are the followers of the Apostles. Then I asked you whether you have ever accused him of telling lies before saying what he said; and your reply was in the negative. Therefore; I took for granted that a man who did not tell a lie about others; could ever tell a lie about Allah. Then I asked you whether anyone of his followers had renounced his religion i.e. Islam after embracing it; being displeased with it; and you denied that. And such is Faith when it mixes with the cheerfulness of the hearts. Then I asked you whether his followers were increasing or decreasing. You claimed that they were increasing. That is the way of true faith till it is complete. Then I asked you whether you had ever fought with him; and you claimed that you had fought with him and the battle between you and him was undecided and the victory was shared by you and him in turns; he inflicted casual ties upon you and you inflicted casualties upon them. Such is the case with the Apostles; they are out to test and the final victory is for them. Then I asked you whether he had ever betrayed; you claimed that he had never betrayed. I need; Apostles never betray. Then I asked you whether anyone had said this statement before him; and you denied that. Thereupon I thought if somebody had said that statement before him; then I would have said that he was but a man copying some sayings said before him. Abu Safyan said; Heraclius then asked me; What does he order you to do? I said; He orders us to offer prayers and to pay Zakat and to keep good relationship with the Kith and kin and to be chaste. Then Heraclius said; If whatever you have said; is true; he is really a prophet; and I knew that he i.e. the Prophet ﷺ was going to appear; but I never thought that he would be from amongst you. If I were certain that I can reach him; I would like to meet him and if I were with him; I would wash his feet; and his kingdom will expand surely to what is under my feet. Then Heraclius asked for the letter of Allah Messenger ﷺ and read it wherein was written: In the Name of Allah; the Most Beneficent; the Most Merciful. This letter is from Muhammad; Apostle of Allah; to Heraclius; the sovereign of Byzantine........ ﷺ who follows the Right Path. Now then; I call you to embrace Islam. Embrace Islam and you will be saved from Allah Punishment ; embrace Islam; and Allah will give you a double reward; but if you reject this; you will be responsible for the sins of all the people of your kingdom Allah Statement :-O the people of the Scripture Jews and Christians ! Come to a word common to you and us that we worship None but Allah....bear witness that we are Muslims. 3.64 When he finished reading the letter; voices grew louder near him and there was a great hue and cry; and we were ordered to go out. Abu Sufyan added; While coming out; I said to my companions; The situation of Ibn Abu Kabsha i.e. Muhammad has become strong; even the king of Banu Al14 Asfar is afraid of him. So I continued to believe that Allah Messenger ﷺ would be victorious; till Allah made me embrace Islam. AlZuhri said; Heraclius then invited all the chiefs of the Byzantines and had them assembled in his house and said; O group of Byzantines! Do you wish to have a permanent success and guidance and that your kingdom should remain with you? Immediately after hearing that ; they rushed towards the gate like onagers; but they found them closed. Heraclius then said; Bring them back to me. So he called them and said; I just wanted to test the strength of your adherence to your religion. Now I have observed of you that which I like. Then the people fell in prostration before him and became pleased with him. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7040 | Narrated Ibn Juraij: Yala Bin Muslim and Amr Bin Dinar and some others narrated the narration of Saeed Bin Jubair. Narrated Said: While we were at the house of Ibn Abbas; Ibn Abbas said; Ask me any question I said; O Abu Abbas! May Allah let me be sacrificed for you ! There is a man at Kufa who is a storyteller called Nauf; who claims that he AlKhadir companion is not Moses of Bani Israel. As for Amr; he said to me; Ibn Abbas said; Nauf the enemy of Allah told a lie. But Yala said to me; Ibn Abbas said; Ubai Bin Kaab said; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Once Moses; Allah Messenger ﷺ ; preached to the people till their eyes shed tears and their hearts became tender; whereupon he finished his sermon. Then a man came to Moses and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is there anyone on the earth who is more learned than you? Moses replied; No. So Allah admonished him Moses ; for he did not ascribe all knowledge to Allah. It was said; on behalf of Allah ; Yes; there is a slave of ours who knows more than you. Moses said; O my Lord! Where is he? Allah said; At the junction of the two seas. Moses said; O my Lord ! Tell I me of a sign whereby I will recognize the place. Amr said to me; Allah said; That place will be where the fish will leave you. Yala said to me; Allah said to Moses ; Take a dead fish and your goal will be the place where it will become alive. So Moses took a fish and put it in a basket and said to his boy-servant I dont want to trouble you; except that you should inform me as soon as this fish leaves you. He said to Moses. You have not demanded too much. And that is as mentioned by Allah: And remember when Moses said to his attendant.... 18.60 Yusha Bin Noon. Saeed did not state that. The Prophet ﷺ said; While the attendant was in the shade of the rock at a wet place; the fish slipped out alive while Moses was sleeping. His attend an said to himself ; I will not wake him; but when he woke up; he forgot to tell him The fish slipped out and entered the sea. Allah stopped the flow of the sea. where the fish was; so that its trace looked as if it was made on a rock. Amr forming a hole with his two thumbs an index fingers; said to me; Like this; as in its trace was made on a rock. Moses said We have suffered much fatigue on this journey of ours. This was not narrated by Said. Then they returned back and found AlKhadir. Uthman Bin Abi Sulaiman said to me; they found him on a green carpet in the middle of the sea. AlKhadir was covered with his garment with one end under his feet and the other end under his head. When Moses greeted; he uncovered his face and said astonishingly; Is there such a greeting in my land? Who are you? Moses said; I am Moses. AlKhadir said; Are you the Moses of Bani Israel? Moses said; Yes. AlKhadir said; What do you want? Moses said; I came to you so that you may teach me of the truth which you were taught. AlKhadir said; Is it not sufficient for you that the Torah is in your hands and the Divine Inspiration comes to you; O Moses? Verily; I have a knowledge that you ought not learn; and you have a knowledge which I ought not learn. At that time a bird took with its beak some water from the sea: AlKhadir then said; By Allah; my knowledge and your knowledge besides Allah Knowledge is like what this bird has taken with its beak from the sea. Until; when they went on board the boat 18.71. They found a small boat which used to carry the people from this sea-side to the other sea-side. The crew recognized AlKhadir and said; The pious slave of Allah. We said to Saeed Was that Khadir? He said; Yes. The boat men said; We will not get him on board with fare. AlKhadir scuttled the boat and then plugged the hole with a piece of wood. Moses said; Have you scuttled it in order to drown these people surely; you have done a dreadful thing. 18.71 Mujahid said. Moses said so protestingly. AlKhadir said; didnt I say that you can have no patience with me? 18.72 The first inquiry of Moses was done because of forgetfulness; the second caused him to be bound with a stipulation; and the third was done intentionally. Moses said; Call me not to account for what I forgot and be not hard upon me for my affair with you. 18.73 Then they found a boy and AlKhadir killed him. Yala- said: Saeed said They found boys playing and AlKhadir got hold of a handsome infidel boy laid him down and then slew him with knife. Moses said; Have you killed a innocent soul who has killed nobody 18.74 Then they proceeded and found a wall which was on the point of falling down; and AlKhadir set it up straight. Saeed moved his hand thus and said AlKhadir raised his hand and the wall became straight. Yala said; I think Saeed said; AlKhadir touched the wall with his hand and it became straight Moses said to AlKhadir ; If you had wished; you could have taken wages for it. Saeed said; Wages that we might had eaten. And there was a king in furor ahead of them 18.79 And there was in front of them. Ibn Abbas recited: In front of them was a king. It is said on the authority of somebody other than Saeed that the king was Hudad Bin Budad. They say that the boy was called Haisur. A king who seized every ship by force. 18.79 So I wished that if that boat passed by him; he would leave it because of its defect and when they have passed they would repair it and get benefit from it. Some people said that they closed that hole with a bottle; and some said with tar. His parents were believers; and he the boy was a non-believer and we Khadir feared lest he would oppress them by obstinate rebellion and disbelief. 18.80 i.e. that their love for him would urge them to follow him in his religion; so we Khadir desired that their Lord should change him for them for one better in righteousness and near to mercy 18:81. This was in reply to Moses saying: Have you killed an innocent soul.? 18.74. Near to mercy means they will be more merciful to him than they were to the former whom Khadir had killed. Other than Said; said that they were compensated with a girl. Dawud Bin Abi Aasi m said on the authority of more than one that this next child was a girl. | The Chapter on Moses And Prophets Moses And Alkhadir in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7224 | Narrated Ibn Abbas: For the whole year I had the desire to ask Umar Bin AlKhattab regarding the explanation of a Verse in Surat AlTahrim but I could not ask him because I respected him very much. When he went to perform the Hajj; I too went along with him. On our return; while we were still on the way home. Umar went Aasi de to answer the call of nature by the Arak trees. I waited till he finished and then I proceeded with him and asked him. O chief of the Believers! Who were the two wives of the Prophet ﷺ who aided one another against him? He said; They were Hafsa and Aisha. Then I said to him; By Allah; I wanted to ask you about this a year ago; but I could not do so owing to my respect for you. Umar said; Do not refrain from asking me. If you think that I have knowledge about a certain matter ; ask me; and if I know something about it ; I will tell you. Then Umar added; By Allah; in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance we did not pay attention to women until Allah revealed regarding them what He revealed regarding them and assigned for them what He has assigned. Once while I was thinking over a certain matter; my wife said; I recommend that you do so-and-so. I said to her; What have you got to do with the is matter? Why do you poke your nose in a matter which I want to see fulfilled.? She said; How strange you are; O son of AlKhattab! You dont want to be argued with whereas your daughter; Hafsa surely; argues with Allah Messenger ﷺ so much that he remains angry for a full day! Umar then reported; how he at once put on his outer garment and went to Hafsa and said to her; O my daughter! Do you argue with Allah Messenger ﷺ so that he remains angry the whole day? H. afsa said; By Allah; we argue with him. Umar said; Know that I warn you of Allah punishment and the anger of Allah Messenger ﷺ... O my daughter! Dont be betrayed by the one who is proud of her beauty because of the love of Allah Messenger ﷺ for her i.e. Aisha. Umar addled; Then I went out to Umm Salamah house who was one of my relatives; and I talked to her. She said; O son of AlKhattab! It is rather astonishing that you interfere in everything; you even want to interfere between Allah Apostle and his wives! By Allah; by her talk she influenced me so much that I lost some of my anger. I left her and went home. At that time I had a friend from the Ansar who used to bring news from the Prophet in case of my absence; and I used to bring him the news if he was absent. In those days we were afraid of one of the kings of Ghassan tribe. We heard that he intended to move and attack us; so fear filled our hearts because of that. One day my Ansari friend unexpectedly knocked at my door; and said; Open Open! I said; Has the king of Ghassan come? He said; No; but something worse; Allah Messenger ﷺ has isolated himself from his wives. I said; Let the nose of Aisha and Hafsa be stuck to dust i.e. humiliated ! Then I put on my clothes and went to Allah Messenger ﷺ residence; and behold; he was staying in an upper room of his to which he ascended by a ladder; and a black slave of Allah Messenger ﷺ was sitting on the first step. I said to him; Say to the Prophet ﷺ Umar Bin AlKhattab is here. Then the Prophet ﷺ admitted me and I narrated the story to Allah Messenger ﷺ. When I reached the story of Umm Salamah ; Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled while he was lying on a mat made of palm tree leaves with nothing between him and the mat. Underneath his head there was a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibres; and leaves of a saut tree were piled at his feet; and above his head hung a few water skins. On seeing the marks of the mat imprinted on his side; I wept. He said. Why are you weeping? I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Caesar and Khosrau are leading the life i.e. Luxurious life while you; Allah Messenger ﷺ though you are; is living in destitute. The Prophet ﷺ then replied. SahihMuslim-017-001-17914 | It has been reported on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit Umm Haram daughter of Milhan who was the sister of his foster-mother or his father aunt. She was the wife of Ubada Bin Samit; One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid her a visit. She entertained him with food and then sat down to rub his head. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dozed off and when he woke up after a while ; he was laughing. She asked: What made you laugh. Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people from my Umma were presented to me who were fighters in the way of Allah and were sailing in this sea. Gliding smoothly on the water ; they appeared to be kings or like kings sitting on thrones the narrator has a doubt about the actual expression used by the Holy Prophet. She said: Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah that He may include me among these warriors. He prayed for her. Then he placed his head down and dozed off again. He woke up laughing; as before. She said I said: Messenger of Allah; what makes you laugh? He replied: A people from my Umma were presented to me. They were fighters in Allah way. He described them in the same words as he had described the first warriors. She said: Messenger of Allah; pray to God that He may include me among these warriors. He said: You are among the first ones. Umm Haram daughter of Milhan sailed in the aea in the time of Muawiya. SahihMuslim-017-001-19019 | Suhaib reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ thus said: There lived a king before you and he had a court magician. As he the magician grew old; he said to the king: I have grown old; send some young boy to me so that I should teach him magic. He the king sent to him a young man so that he should train him in magic. And on his way to the magician he the young man found a monk sitting there. He the young man listened to his the monks talk and was impressed by it. It became his habit that on his way to the magician he met the monk and set there and he came to the magician late. He the magician beat him because of delay. He made a complaint of that to the monk and he said to him: When you feel afraid of the magician; say: Members of my family had detained me. And when you feel afraid of your family you should say: The magician had detained me. It so happened that there came a huge beast of prey and it blocked the way of the people; and he the young boy said: I will come to know today whether the magician is superior or the monk is superior. He picked up a stone and said: O Allah; if the affair of the monk is dearer to Thee than the affair of the magician; cause death to this animal so that the people should be able to move about freely. He threw that stone towards it and killed it and the people began to move about on the path freely. He the young man then came to that monk and Informed him and the monk said: Sonny; today you are superior to me. Your affair has come to a stage where I find that you would be soon put to a trial; and in case you are put to a trial dont give my clue. That young man began to treat the blind and those suffering from leprosy and he in fact began to cure people from all kinds of illness. When a companion of the king who had gone blind heard about him; he came to him with numerous gifts and said: If you cure me all these things collected together here would be yours. Be said: I myself do not cure anyone. It is Allah Who cures and if you affirm faith in Allah; I shall also supplicate Allah to cure you. He affirmed his faith in Allah and Allah cured him and he came to the king and sat by his side as he used to sit before. The king said to him: Who restored your eyesight? He said: My Lord. Thereupon he said: It means that your Lord is One besides me. He said: My Lord and your Lord is Allah; so he the king took hold of him and tormented him till he gave a clue of that boy. The young man was thus summoned and the king said to him: O boy; it has been conveyed to me that you have become so much proficient in your magic that you cure the blind and those suffering from leprosy and you do such and such things. Thereupon he said: I do not cure anyone; it is Allah Who cures; and he the king took hold of him and began to torment him. So he gave a clue of the monk. The monk was thus summoned and it was said to him: You should turn back from your religion. He; however; refused to do so. He ordered for a saw to be brought and when it was done he the king placed it in the middle of his head and tore it into parts till a part fell down. Then the courtier of the king was brought and it was said to him: Turn back from your religion. Arid he refused to do so; and the saw was placed in the midst of his head and it was torn till a part fell down. Then that young boy was brought and it was said to him: Turn back from your religion. He refused to do so and he was handed over to a group of his courtiers. And he said to them: Take him to such and such mountain; make him climb up that mountain and when you reach its top ask him to renounce his faith but if he refuses to do so; then throw him down the mountain. So they took him and made him climb up the mountain and he said: O Allah; save me from them in any way Thou likest and the mountain began to quake and they all fell down and that person came walking to the king. The king said to him: What has happened to your companions? He said: Allah has saved me from them. He again handed him to some of his courtiers and said: Take him and carry him in a small boat and when you reach the middle of the ocean ask him to renounce his religion; but if he does not renounce his religion throw him into the water. So they took him and he said: O Allah; save me from them and what they want to do. It was quite soon that the boat turned over and they were drowned and he came walking to the king; and the king said to him: What has happened to your companions? He said: Allah has saved me from them; and he said to the king: You cannot kill me until you do what I ask you to do. And he said: What is that? He said: You should gather people in a plain and hang me by the trunk of a tree. Then take hold of an arrow from the quiver and say: In the name of Allah; the Lord of the young boy; then shoot an arrow and if you do that then you would be able to kill me. So he the king called the people in an open plain and tied him the boy to the trunk of a tree; then he took hold of an arrow from his quiver and then placed the arrow in the bow and then said: In the name of Allah; the Lord of the young boy; he then shot an arrow and it bit his temple. He the boy placed his hands upon the temple where the arrow had bit him and he died and the people said: We affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man; we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man; we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man. The courtiers came to the king and it was said to him: Do you see that Allah has actually done what you aimed at averting. They the people have affirmed their faith in the Lord. He the king commanded ditches to be dug at important points in the path. When these ditches were dug; and the fire was lit in them it was said to the people : He who would not turn back from his boys religion would be thrown in the fire or it would be said to them to jump in that. The people courted death but did not renounce religion till a woman came with her child and she felt hesitant in jumping into the fire and the child said to her: 0 mother; endure this ordeal for it is the Truth. | The Chapter on Alansar And Killing in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 17 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-20151 | Abu Huraira reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ never told a lie but only thrice: two times for the sake of Allah for example; his words : I am sick; and his words: But it was the big one amongst them which has done that and because of Sara his wife. He had come in a land inhabited by haughty and cruel men along with Sara. She was very good-looking amongst the people; so he said to her: If these people were to know that you are my wife they would snatch you away from me; so if they ask you tell them that you are my sister and in fact you are my sister in Islam; and I do not know of any other Muslim in this land besides I and you. And when they entered that land the tyrants came to see her and said to him the king : There comes to your land a woman; whom you alone deserve to possess; so he the king sent someone towards her and she was brought to him; and Ibrahim ﷺ stood in prayer. When she visited him the tyrant king came he could help but stretch his hand towards her and his hand was tied up. He said: Supplicate to Allah so that He may release my hand and I will do no harm to you. She did that and the man repeated the same highhandedness and his hand was again tied up more tightly than on the first occasion. He said the same thing to her again; and she again did that supplicated ; but he repeated the same highhandedness and his hands were tied up more tightly than on the previous occasion. He then again said: Supplicate your Lord so that He may set my hand free; by Allah I shall do no harm to you. She did and his hand was freed. Then he called the person who had brought her and said to him: You have brought to me the satan and you have not brought to me a human being; so turn them out from my land; and he gave Hajar as a gift to her. She returned along with Hajar and when Ibrahim ﷺ saw her; he said: How have you returned? She said: With full safety have I returned. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12420 | It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: There were kings after Isa Bin Mariam who altered the Tawrah and the Injil; but there were among them believers who read the Tawrah. It was said to their kings: We have never heard of any slander worse than that of those believers who slander us and recite: And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed; such are the disbelievers. In these Verses; they are criticizing us for our deeds when they recite them. So he called them together and gave them the choice between being put to death; or giving up reading the Tawrah and Injil; except for what had been altered. They said: Why do you want us to change? Leave us alone. Some of them said: Build us a tower and let us go up there; and give us something to lift up our food and drink so we do not have to mix with you. Others said: Let us go and wander throughout the land; and we will drink as the wild animals drink; and if you capture us in your land; you may kill us. Others said: Build houses for us in the wilderness; and we will dig wells and grow vegetables; and we will not mix with you or pass by you; for there is no one of the tribes among whom we do not have close relatives. So they did that; and Allah revealed the words: But the monasticism which they invented for themselves; We did not prescribe for them; but they sought it only to please Allah therewith; but that they did not observe it with the right observance. Then others said: We will worship as so-and-so worshipped; and we will wander as so-and-so wandered; and we will adopt houses in the wilderness as so-and-so did. But they were still following their Shirk with no knowledge of the faith of those whom they claimed to be following. When Allah sent the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL; and they were only a few of them left; a man came down from his cell; and a wanderer came from his travels; and a monk came from his monastery; and they believed in him. And Allah said: O you who believe! Fear Allah; and believe in His Messenger Muhammad ; He will give you a double portion of His mercy - meaning; two rewards; because of their having believed in Isa and in the Tawrah and Injil; and for having believing in Muhammad SAWSYMOBOL; and He will give you a light by which you shall walk straight ; - meaning; the Quran; and their following the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL; and He said: So that the people of the Scripture Jews and Christians may know that they have no power whatsoever over the Grace of Allah. | The Chapter on Allah Characteristics Ask in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Meaning of the Verse And Whosoever Does Not Judge By What Allah Has Revealed Such Are The Disbelievers in Sunan AlNasai

MuwataMalik-017-001-35448 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abi Talha that Anas Ibn Malik had said that when the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; went to Quba; he visited Umm Haram bint Milhan and she fed him. Umm Haram was the wife of Ubada Ibn AlSamit. One day the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had called on her and she had fed him; and sat down to delouse his hair. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had dozed and woke up smiling. Umm Haram said; What is making you smile; Messenger of Allah? He said; Some of my community were presented to me; raiding in the way of Allah. They were riding in the middle of the sea; kings on thrones; or like kings on thrones. Ishaq wasnt sure. She said; O Messenger of Allah! Ask Allah to put me among them! So he had made a dua for her; and put his head down and slept. Then he had woken up smiling; and she said to him; Messenger of Allah; why are you smiling? He said; Some of my community were presented to me; raiding in the way of Allah. They were kings on thrones or like kings on thrones; as he had said in the first one. She said; O Messenger of Allah! Ask Allah to put me among them! He said; You are among the first. Ishaq added; She travelled on the sea in the time of Muawiya; and when she landed; she was thrown from her mount and killed. | The Chapter on Moses And Prophets And The Throne in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Divorce in Muwata Malik |
