Saad Bin Ubada followed us and said; O Abu Usaid ! Dont you see that the Prophet ﷺ compared the Ansar and made us the last of them in superiority? Then Saad met the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! In comparing the Ansar families homes as to the degree of superiority; you have made us the last of them. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3708 | Narrated Ibn Abbas: The first event of Qasama in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance was practiced by us i.e. Banu Hashim. A man from Banu Hashim was employed by a Quraishi man from another branch-family. The Hashimi laborer set out with the Quraishi driving his camels. There passed by him another man from Banu Hashim. The leather rope of the latter bag had broken so he said to the laborer; Will you help me by giving me a rope in order to tie the handle of my bag lest the camels should run away from me? The laborer gave him a rope and the latter tied his bag with it. When the caravan halted; all the camels legs were tied with their fetters except one camel. The employer asked the laborer; Why; from among all the camels has this camel not been fettered? He replied; There is no fetter for it. The Quraishi asked; Where is its fetter? and hit the laborer with a stick that caused his death later on Just before his death a man from Yemen passed by him. The laborer asked him ; Will you go for the pilgrimage? He replied; I do not think I will attend it; but perhaps I will attend it. The Hashimi laborer said; Will you please convey a message for me once in your life? The other man said; yes. The laborer wrote: When you attend the pilgrimage; call the family of Quraish; and if they respond to you; call the family of Banu Hashim; and if they respond to you; ask about Abu Talib and tell him that so-and-so has killed me for a fetter. Then the laborer expired. When the employer reached Mecca ; Abu Talib visited him and asked; What has happened to our companion? He said; He became ill and I looked after him nicely but he died and I buried him. Then Abu Talib said; The deceased deserved this from you. After some time; the messenger whom the laborer has asked to convey the message; reached during the pilgrimage season. He called; O the family of Quraish! The people replied; This is Quraish. Then he called; O the family of Banu Hashim! Again the people replied; This is Banu Hashim. He asked; Who is Abu Talib? The people replied; This is Abu Talib. He said; So-and-so has asked me to convey a message to you that so-and-so has killed him for a fetter of a camel. Then Abu Talib went to the Quraishi killer and said to him; Choose one of three alternatives: i If you wish; give us one-hundred camels because you have murdered our companion; ii or if you wish; fifty of your men should take an oath that you have not murdered our companion; and if you do not accept this; iii we will kill you in Qisas. The killer went to his people and they said; We will take an oath. Then a woman from Banu Hashim who was married to one of them i.e.the Quraishis and had given birth to a child from him; came to Abu Talib and said; O Abu Talib! I wish that my son from among the fifty men; should be excused from this oath; and that he should not take the oath where the oathtaking is carried on. Abu Talib excused him. Then another man from them came to Abu Talib and said; O Abu Talib! You want fifty persons to take an oath instead of giving a hundred camels; and that means each man has to give two camels in case he does not take an oath. So there are two camels I would like you to accept from me and excuse me from taking an oath where the oaths are taken. Abu Talib accepted them from him. Then 48 men came and took the oath. Ibn Abbas further said: By Him in Whose Hand my life is; before the end of that year; none of those 48 persons remained alive. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen Killing in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlQasama in the PreIslamic Period of Ignorance in Sahih AlBukhari

Then he sent for the chiefs of Bani AlNajjar; and they came; carrying their swords. As if I am just now looking at Allah Messenger ﷺ on his camel with Abu Bakr riding behind him on the same camel and the chiefs of Bani AlNajjar around him till he dismounted in the courtyard of Abu Ayoub home. The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the prayer wherever the prayer was due; and he would pray even in sheepfolds. Then he ordered that the Masjid be built. He sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and when they came; he said; O Banu AlNajjar! Suggest to me the price of this garden of yours. They replied No! By Allah; we do not demand its price except from Allah. In that garden there were the following things that I will tell you: Graves of pagans; unleveled land with holes and pits etc.; and date-palm trees. Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered that the graves of the pagans be dug up and; the unleveled land be leveled and the date-palm trees be cut down. The trunks of the trees were arranged so as to form the wall facing the Qibla. The Stone pillars were built at the sides of its gate. The companions of the Prophet ﷺ were carrying the stones and reciting some lyrics; and Allah Messenger ﷺ.. was with them and they were saying; O Allah! The Asr prayer became due for some of them on the way. Some of those said; We will not offer it till we reach it; the place of Banu Quraidha ; while some others said; No; we will pray at this spot; for the Prophet ﷺ did not mean that for us. Later on It was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ and he did not berate any of the two groups. | The Chapter on Prayers And Supplication in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The return of the Prophet from Ahzab and his going out to Bani Quraiza in Sahih AlBukhari

My people ordered me to ask the Prophet ﷺ to return some or all the date palms they had given to him; but the Prophet ﷺ had given those trees to Um Aiman. On that; Um Aiman came and put the garment around my neck and said; No; by Him except Whom none has the right to be worshipped; he will not return those trees to you as he i.e. the Prophet ﷺ has given them to me. So the Prophet ﷺ sent for Sad; and the latter came riding a donkey and when he approached the Masjid; the Prophet ﷺ said to the Ansar; Get up for your chief or for the best among you. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to Sad. These i.e. Banu Quraidha have agreed to accept your verdict. Saad said; Kill their men warriors and take their offspring as captives; On that the Prophet ﷺ said; You have judged according to Allah Judgment; or said; according to the King judgment. | The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes Management in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The return of the Prophet from Ahzab and his going out to Bani Quraiza in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6470 | Narrated Aisha: Saad was wounded on the day of Khandaq i.e. Trench when a man from Quraish; called Hibban Bin AlAraqa hit him with an arrow. The man was Hibban Bin Qais from the tribe of Bani Mais Bin Amir Bin Louai who shot an arrow at Saad medial arm vein or main artery of the arm. The Prophet ﷺ pitched a tent for Sad in the Masjid so that he might be near to the Prophet ﷺ to visit. When the Prophet returned from the battle of AlKhandaq i.e. Trench and laid down his arms and took a bath Gabriel came to him while he i.e. Gabriel was shaking the dust off his head; and said; You have laid down the arms? So Allah Messenger ﷺ went to them i.e. Banu Quraidha i.e. besieged them. They then surrendered to the Prophet judgment but he directed them to Saad to give his verdict concerning them. Saad said; I give my judgment that their warriors should be killed; their women and children should be taken as captives; and their properties distributed. Narrated Hisham: My father informed me that Aisha said; Saad said; O Allah! You know that there is nothing more beloved to me than to fight in Your Cause against those who disbelieved Your Apostle and turned him out of Mecca. O Allah! I think you have put to an end the fight between us and them i.e. Quraish infidels. And if there still remains any fight with the Quraish infidels ; then keep me alive till I fight against them for Your Sake. But if you have brought the war to an end; then let this wound burst and cause my death thereby. So blood gushed from the wound. There was a tent in the Masjid belonging to Banu Ghifar who were surprised by the blood flowing towards them. They said; O people of the tent! What is this thing which is coming to us from your side? Behold! Blood was flowing profusely out of Saad wound. Abbas said; They are Banu Ghifar. Abu Sufyan said; I have got nothing to do with Ghifar. Then a batch of the tribe of Juhaina passed by and he said similarly as above. Then a batch of the tribe of Saad Bin Huzaim passed by and he said similarly as above. then Banu Sulaim passed by and he said similarly as above. Then came a batch; the like of which Abu Sufyan had not seen. He said; Who are these? Abbas said; They are the Ansar headed by Saad Bin Ubada; the one holding the flag. Saad Bin Ubada said; O Abu Sufyan! Today is the day of a great battle and today what is prohibited in the Kaba will be permissible. Abu Sufyan said.; O Abbas! How excellent the day of destruction is! SahihMuslim-017-001-17614 | Imran Bin Hosain reported that the tribe of Thaqif was the ally of Banu Uqail. Thaqif took two persons from amongst the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ as prisoners. The Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ took one person at Banu Uqail as prisoner; and captured AlAdbi the camel of the Holy Prophet along with him. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to him and he was tied with ropes. He said: Muhammad. He came near him and said: What is the matter with you? Thereupon he the prisoner said: Why have you taken me as prisoner and why have you caught hold of one proceeding the pilgrims the camel as she carried the Prophet on her back and walked ahead of the multitude ? He the Holy Prophet said: Yours is a great fault. I my men have caught hold of you for the crime of your allies; Banu Thaqif. He the Holy Prophet then turned away. He again called him and said: Muhammad; Muhammad; and since Allah Messenger ﷺ was very compassionate; and tenderhearted; he returned to him; and said: What is the matter with you? He said: I am a Muslim; whereupon he the Holy Prophet said: Had you said this when you had been the master of yourself; you would have gained every success. He then turned away. He the prisoner called him again saying: Muhammad; Muhammad. He came to him and said: What is the matter with you? He said: I am hungry; feed me; and I am thirsty; so provide me with drink. He the Holy Prophet said: That is to satisfy your want. He was then ransomed for two persons who had been taken prisoner by Thaqif. He the narrator said: A woman of the Ansar had been taken prisoner and also AlAdbi was caught. The woman had been tied with ropes. The people were giving rest to their animals before their houses. She escaped one night from the bondage and came to the camels. As she drew near the camels; they fretted and fumed and so she left them until she came to Al; Adbi. It did not fret and fume; it was docile She rode upon its back and drove it away and she went off. When they the enemies of Islam were warned of this; they went in search of it; but it the camel exhausted them. She the woman took vow for Allah; that in case He would save her through it; she would offer that as a sacrifice. As she reached Medina; the people saw her and they said: Here is AlAdbi; the camel of Allah Messenger ﷺ. She the woman said that she had taken a vow that if Allah would save her on its back; she would sacrifice it. They the Prophet Companions came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and made a mention of that to him; whereupon he said: Hallowed be Allah; how ill she rewarded it that she took vow to Allah that if He saves her on its back; she would sacrifice it! There is no fulfillment of the vow in an act of disobedience; nor in an act over which a person has no control. Abbas who was a man with a loud voice called out at the top of the voice: Where are the people of Samura? Abbas said: And by God; when they heard my voice; they came back to us as cows come back to their calves; and said: We are present; we are present! Abbas said: They began to fight the infidels. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took some pebbles and threw them in the face of the infidels. Then he said: By the Lord of Muhammad; the infidels are defeated. This party of archers belonged to Banu Hawazin and Banu Nadir. They shot at the advancing young men and their arrows were not likely to miss their targets. So these young men turned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was riding on his white mule and Abu Sufyan Bin AlHarith Bin Abd AlMuttalib was leading him. At this he got down from his mule; invoked God help; and called out: I am the Prophet. This is no untruth. I am the son of Abd AlMuttalib. What actually happened was that some hasty young men who were either inadequately armed or were unarmed met a group of men from Banu Hawazin and Banu Nadir who happened to be excellent archers. The latter shot at them a volley of arrows that did not miss. The people turned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Abu Sufyan Bin Harith was leading his mule. So he got down; prayed and invoked God help. One day when he Moses was taking bath alone he placed his clothes upon a stone; but the stone began to move along with his clothes. It is as if I can see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on his camel with Abu Bakr riding behind him on the same camel and the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar around him; until he dismounted in the courtyard of Abu Ayoub. The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the prayer wherever he was when the time for prayer came; and he would pray even in sheepfolds. Then he ordered that the Masjid be built. He sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and when they came; he said: O Banu AlNajjar; name me a price for this grove of yours. They said: By Allah; we will not ask for its price except from Allah. Anas said: In that grove there were graves of idolators; ruins and date-palm trees. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the graves of the idolators be dug up; the ruins be leveled and the date-palm trees be cut down. The trunks of the trees were arranged so as to form the walls facing the Qiblah. The stone pillars were built at the sides of its gate. The leather rope of that man bag broke; so he said to the hired worker : Help me by giving me a rope with which to tie the handle of my bag; lest the camels run away from me. So he gave him a rope and he tied his gab with it. When they halted; all the camels legs were hobbled except one camel. The one who had hired him said: Why is his camel; out of all of them; not hobbled? He said: There is no rope for it. He said: Where is its rope? He said: A man from Banu Hashim passed by and the leather rope of his bag had broken; and he asked me to help him; he said: Help me by giving me a rope with which to tie the handle of my bag lest the camels run away from me; so I gave him a rope. He struck him with a stick; which led to his death. Then a man from Yemen passed by him the man from Banu Hashim; the man from Banu Hashim; just before he died and he the Hashimi man said: Are you going to attend the Pilgrimage? He said: I do not think I will attend it; but perhaps I will attend it. He said: Will you convey a message from me once in your lifetime? He said: Yes. He said: If you attend the pilgrimage; then call out; O family of Quraish! If they respond; then call out; O family of Hashim! If they respond; then ask for Abu Talib; and tell him that so and so killed me for a rope. Then the hired worker died. When the one who had hired him cam; Abu Talib went to him and said: What happened to our companion? He said: He fell sick and I took good care of him; but he died; so I stopped and buried him. And they said: Here is Quraish. He said: O family of Banu Hashim! They said: Here is Banu Hashim. He said Where is Abu Talib? He said: Here is Abu Talib. He said: so and so asked me to convey a message to you; that so and so killed him for a camel rope. Abu Talib went to him and said Choose one of three alternatives that we are offering you. If you wish; you may give us one hundred camels; because you killed our companion by mistake: or if you wish; fifty of your men may swear an oath that you did not kill him; or if you wish; we will kill you in retaliation. He went to his people and told them about that; and they said: We will swear the oath. Then a woman from Banu Hashim; who was married to one of their men and had born him a child; came to Abu Talib and said: O Abu Talib; I wish that my son; who is one of these fifty men; should be excused from having to take the oath.; So the excused him. Then one of the men came to him and said: O Abu Talib; you want fifty men to take the oath in lieu of one hundred camels; which means that each man may give two camels instead; so here are two camels; take them from me; and do not make me take the oath. He said: What was allocated to myself and to Banu Abd AlMuttalib is for you. He said: Is this so important? I dont need it! And he threw it down. He said: O people! The Quraish - he said one time: became angry and said: You give to the chiefs of Najdand that; so as to soften their hearts toward Islam. Then a man with a thick beard; prominent cheeks; and a shaven head came and said: Fear Allah. O Muhammad! He said: Who would obey Allah if I disobeyed Him? Is it fair that He has entrusted me with all the people of the Earth but you do not trust me? Then the man went away; and a man from among the people; whom they the narrators think was Khalid Bin AlWalid; asked for permission to kill him. They the people said: Who will ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for us about Laylat AlQadr? That was the twenty-first of Ramadan. I went out and said the sunset prayer along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I then stood at the door of his house. He passed by me and said: Come in. I entered the house and dinner was brought for him. I was prevented from taking food as it was scanty. When he finished his dinner; he said to me: Give me my shoes. He then stood up and I also stood up with him. He said: Perhaps you have some business with me. I said: Yes. Some people of Banu Salamah have sent me to you to ask you about Laylat AlQadr. He asked: Which night: Is it tonight? I said: Twenty-second. He said: This is the very night. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25052 | Narrated Salamah Ibn Sakhr AlBayadi: I was a man who was more given than others to sexual intercourse with women. When the month of Ramadan came; I feared lest I should have intercourse with my wife; and this evil should remain with me till the morning. So I made my wife like my mother back to me till the end of Ramadan. But one night when she was waiting upon me; something of her was revealed. Suddenly I jumped upon her. When the morning came I went to my people and informed them about this matter. I said: Go along with me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They said: No; by Allah. So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of the matter. He said: Have you really committed it; Salamah? I said: I committed it twice; Messenger of Allah. I am content with the Commandment of Allah; the Exalted; so take a decision about me according to what Allah has shown you. He said: Free a slave. I said: By Him Who sent you with truth; I do not possess a neck other than this: and I struck the surface of my neck. He said: Then fast two consecutive months. I said: Whatever I suffered is due to fasting. He said: Feed sixty poor people with a wasq of dates. I said: By Him Who sent you with truth; we passed the night hungry; there was no food in our house. He said: Then go to the collector of sadaqah of Banu Zurayq; he must give it to you. Then feed sixty poor people with a wasq of dates; and you and your family eat the remaining dates. Then I came back to my people; and said to them : I found with you poverty and bad opinion; and I found with the Prophet ﷺ prosperity and good opinion. He has commanded me to give alms to you. I found with a man who was begging from him and he was saying to him: I have nothing to give you. The man turned away from him in anger while he was saying: By my life; you give anyone you wish. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said : Hes anger with me; for I have nothing to give him. If any of you begs when he has an Uqiyah or its equivalent; he has begged immoderately. The man of Banu Asad said : So I said : The she camel of ours is better than an uqiyah; while an uqiyah is equivalent to 40 Dirhams. I therefore returned and did not beg from him. He asked: Who are these people? We replied: Banu Layth. We have come to you to ask you about the tradition of Hudhayfah. He then mentioned the tradition and said: I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be evil after this good? He replied: There will be trial fitnah and evil. I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be good after this evil? He replied: Learn the Book of Allah; Hudhayfah; and adhere to its contents. He said it three times. I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be good after this evil? He replied: An illusory truce and a community with specks in its eye. I asked: Messenger of Allah; what do you mean by an illusory community? He replied: The hearts of the people will not return to their former condition. I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be evil after this good? SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26298 | Narrated Laqit Ibn Sabirah: I was the leader of the delegation of Banu AlMuntafiq or the narrator doubted I was among the delegation of Banu AlMuntafiq that came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we reached the Prophet; we did not find him in his house. We found there Aisha; the Mother of the Believers. She ordered that a dish called Khazirah should be prepared for us. It was then prepared. A tray containing dates was then presented to us. The narrator Qutaybah did not mention the word qina; tray. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came. He asked: Has anything been served to you or ordered for you? We replied: Yes; Messenger of Allah. While we were sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we suddenly saw that a shepherd was driving a herd of sheep to their fold. He had with him a newly-born lamb that was crying. He the Prophet asked him: What did it bear; O so and so? He replied: A ewe. He then said: Slaughter for us in its place a sheep. Do not think that we are slaughtering it for you. We have one hundred sheep and we do not want their number to increase. Whenever a ewe is born; we slaughter a sheep in its place. The narrator says that the Prophet ﷺ used the word la tahsabanna; do not think. I the narrator Laqit then said: Messenger of Allah; I have a wife who has something wrong in her tongue; i.e. she is insolent. He said: Then divorce her. I said: Messenger of Allah; she had company with me and I have children from her. He said: Then ask her to obey you. If there is something good in her; she will do so obey ; and do not beat your wife as you beat your slave-girl. I said: Messenger of Allah; tell me about ablution. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26456 | This tradition has also been narrated by Aisha through a different chain of transmitters.Abu Dawud said: All the traditions on this subject transmitted by Adi Bin Thabit and Amash on the authority of Habib and Ayoub AlAla; all of them are weak; none of them is sound. This tradition indicates the tradition reported by AlAmash a a statement of Companion; i.e. Aishah. Hafs Bin Ghayath has rejected the tradition transmitted by Habib as the statement of the Prophet. And Asbat also reported it as a statement of Aishah.Abu Dawud said: Ibn Dawud has narrated the first part of this tradition as a statement of the Prophet ; and denied that there was any mention of performing ablution for every prayer. The weakness of the tradition reported by Habib is also indicated by the fact that the version transmuted by AlZuhri from Urwah on the authority of Aisha says that she used to wash herself for every prayer; these words occur in the tradition about the woman who has a flow of blood. This tradition has been reported by Abu AlYaqzan from Adi Bin Thabit from his father from Ali; and narrated by Ammar; the freed salve of Banu Hashim; from Ibn Abbas; and transmitted by Abd AlMalik Bin Maisarah; Bayan; AlMughirah; Firas; on the authority of AlShabi; from Qumair from Aisha; stating: You should perform ablution for every prayer. The version transmitted by Dawud; and Aasi m from AlShabi from Qumair from Aisha has the words: She should take bath only once every day. The version reported by Hisham Bin Urwah from his father has the words: The woman having a flow of blood should perform ablution for every prayer. All these traditions are weak except the tradition reported by Qumair and the tradition reported by Ammar; the freed slave of Banu Hashim; and the tradition narrated by Hisham Bin Urwah on the authority of his father. MuwataMalik-017-001-34837 | Malik related to me from Abdullah Ibn Abi Bakr Ibn Hazm that his father told him that he was sitting with Aban Ibn Uthman; and an argument was brought to him between some people from the Juhayna tribe and some people from the Banu AlHarith Ibn AlKhazraj. A woman of the Juhayna tribe was married to a man from the Banu AlHarith Ibn AlKhazraj; called Ibrahim Ibn Kulayb. She died and left property and mawali; and her son and husband inherited them from her. Then her son died and his heirs said; We have the wala of the mawali. Her son obtained them. Those of the Juhayna said; It is not like that. They are the mawali of our female associate. When her child died; we have their wala and we inherit them. She said; I asked the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; if I could return to my people in the Banu Khudra; as my husband had not left me in a dwelling which belonged to him; and had left me no maintenance.
